"Daddy's Little Girl" is a collection of short, inspirational stories about daughters and their dads. It weaves its way through the complex father-daughter relationship with humor, insight, and poignant moments.

This book would make a fantastic gift not only for Father's Day, but anytime a daughter wants to let her dad know how special he is to her.

a good old-fashioned mystery with a twist
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2004-01-08
Veronica Vail, dynamic, tall & beautiful, with the perfect marriage, job & home is found beaten to death in her sitting room. Why is a huge, valuable portrait of the dead woman gone from the wall?

When Lt. John Franklin of the NYPD, calls Dr. Mary Wells for insights into her patient's lifestyle, this long time divorcee & psychoanalyst is drawn into a tragedy with secrets & echoes from the past. Dr. Wells is both fascinated to be invited to assist in the investigation, & remorseful that she hadn't seen, in all the years of Veronica's therapy, this possible outcome -- that her patient would be murdered.

THE DEADLY JIGSAW PUZZLE is a mystery with many layers as well as an unfolding love story. Dr. Bond, herself a New York psychoanalyst for more than 30 years, has written an elegant & satisfying story of the power that unresolved childhood trauma have on the present.

In this modern world of police dramas solved by angst-driven investigators with desolate private lives, themselves on the verge of disaster, THE DEADLY JIGSAW PUZZLE is a pleasing change. In her two heroes, Dr. Wells & Lt. Franklin, Dr. Bond has the makings of a fine series.

Recommended by Rebeccasreads as a thoughtful mystery.

I think Doctor No is a Great Book and anybody into James Bond will love it. If you love action and suspense you will love this book! This book is more for older children because of the language and violance. Still, that doesn't take the fun out of it!

I really loved the book and think it is wonderful reading for young children. The colorful pictures offer insight into the relationship of Eddie and his Grandma. This book shows how a child faces the challenge of losing his grandmother. In the end, Eddie realizes that she is still with him as the reader sees her image in the clouds as he holds a daisy that symbolizes the bond between Eddie and his Grandma.

Exemplary Genealogy Research
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-02-03
This book begins with Captain William Maclin, originally from Scotland, who settled in Brunswick County, Virginia in the early 1700's. Compared to sloppier works, this book takes extra care to include references, including the work of other reputable genealogists and the full text of numerous wills (which researchers LOVE!). The author tackles apparent discrepancies head-on and helps to clear up confusion with similar and evolving names. Although the book includes the obligatory endless names and dates for reference purposes, the discussions have an unusual amount of charm. For the genre of amateur genealogies, it stands out for thoroughness, readability, and lots of good references. Though it falls a bit short compared to contemporary production standards, it is definitely a best-in-class for its time, so it gets 5 stars.

Great book for fathers and sons to go through together. I find this book helps stimulate conversation and does not encourage a "lecture" from father's, but actually encourages dialogue. A great book! A great tool to help lines of communication to stay open between fathers and sons.

This is THE classic Ferrari book
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2000-11-02
This book contains the entire history of Ferrari up until the mid-70s. If you are a Ferrari enthusiast of the older cars this is a required book on your shelf. The book contains hundreds of black and white photos as well as several color fold-outs. ISBN 0878800190 is the third revised and enlarged edition of the original Ferrari classic. Note that there is a fourth revised edition. If you are a collector I highly suggest getting a 1st edition and a 4th edition for the comprehensive extra information.
