This book is loaded with lot's of valuable information on how to use colors in oil painting. I find it a very helpful reference for choosing, mixing, and applying color.
Each painter will greatly benefit from the material contained in this book. It's an excellent source of information as well as inspiration to anyone who enjoys painting in this medium.

The author defines and explains such basic terms and concepts as hue, value, intensity, and temperature. He lists the most commonly used colors and describes their behavior when mixed or straight out of the tube. There is a chapter on mixing color, how to make colors warmer, cooler,more intense, lighter or darker, grayer;and how to correct mixing mistakes.
Also, the author discusses color schemes; some of the palettes of the old masters; palettes for specific types of subject matter. This book also helps to sharpen your eye to color and all the atmospheric conditions. Any time I have a question, or problem I just pick up this book.
This is the best book I've found to have as a permanent reference for the studio.

This book is wonderful, very useful in today's technicial society. I especially recommend chapter 3: The Phantom Machine: The Invisible Ideology of Email, by Myra Moses and Steven Katz. It has really changed my perspective on communication of the present age.

I met one of the authors, Jan Madden-Simpson, while she was preparing her Ph-D in Dublin, Ireland. I am glad to see that she has finally been able to shape most of her ideas, experience and strenuous research in this superb book which I cannot recommend enough. It seems that all her work with slow students like myself did finally pay off!

I bought this book a couple of days ago, because I'm a big Tom Cruise fan. I read a few pages and it sounds nice. You get a lot of facts about Tom.

This book should be one of the best introduction in crystal structure analysis for the beginners! Everybody wanting to start with x-ray structure analysis should read this book at the very beginning, since it's, in fact, a International Union of Crystallography Text on Crystallography. It covers the most important topics of x-ray structure analysis in an easy understandable language without boring the reader with mathematical details. You can get a good impression about what the basic principles and problems of x-crystallography are, and how they can be solved.

I first read the "Crystal Blake" series in fifth grade, when they were available in our school's monthly book club order. I ended up getting the whole series through that and probably the Christian bookstore, except for number 2 which I bought here. I'm really glad it was available, allowing me to complete my set after 13 years! This series will appeal to girls who love horses. The characters are convincing, funny, and the stories are entertaining. They are quick reads but the stories stick with you. At least they did for me. They are some of my favorite reading memories. If your daughters like to read something with a little romance, these have it, but it is very age appropriate, and not the whiny, melodramatic stuff so prevalent on teen shows. These teen characters don't try to be adults, but they aren't immature either -- they make mistakes in realistic ways, but know when to rely on adults for help. I highly recommend this entire series.

This is a really great book. Crystal has just moved to I think it is Nevada (but I kind of forgot) from California and at the begining of the book she rides in her first rodeo and she does lots of other stuff and she tries hunting for some cash that in one of the earlier books she catches a robber and the cash gets lost somewere but I won't tell you if they found it though and she tries for her high school rodeo team and she is in a wedding for one of her friends and does lots of other stuff but I can' t tell you all of it but it is about THE GREATEST BOOK EVER!!!!!!!!

This book on tape is perfect for long car, bus, train, or plane rides. It's the story of Cyril Bonhamy, a hapless British tourist in Nice, France who somehow manages to get himself mixed up with one of France's most dangerous criminals. This is mostly due to the fact that he is under the impression that, even after all of these years, the French people really don't know how to speak their own language. He, on the other hand, speaks "fluent" French, which, of course, is really just English with a bad French accent. This story is incredibly funny. If you enjoy British humor (or, should I say humour), such as "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," then you will enjoy this story.

This diary was so cool. I remember wanting to get this so bad when I was introduced to Dahl back in 1995. And I'm amazed that Amazon used & new has some. Cool. It had monthly notes (of course) but it also had little introductions to each month, like what Roald would do depending on the season, and how his life was at the time. From how he would get rid of moles in the ground just by putting glass bottles halfway in the ground, to other great things, you should get this book if you're a fan. It was only released for a year as far as I know.
