This should really be in the audio/CD/self help category. It has a workbook in the package but it also has 4 CDs. I have a few of Blair's books and they are good, also I heard him speak at a convention and he is a very powerful and motivating guy. Must have for boosting sales.

Riveting dialogue
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2007-04-08
Bergman outlines in the introduction of the work, the six separate scenes of the marriage. The apparently perfectly adjusted and happy bourgeois couple with two - children go from unease with each other, to the husband's leaving his wife for another woman, to in the final scene an illicit reunion in which they reunite briefly while their respective new spouses are away.
Bergman 's dialogue is riveting. It holds the attention throughout.
However the kind of experiences involved go well beyond anything I have personal knowledge of. In a way there is just too much mature, sophisticated reevaluation and interpretation of the relationship.
Nonetheless there are many brilliant passages and much insight into the impossible complexity of human relationships.

Fantastic resource

Review Date: 2006-01-24
I pastor an emerging church and I found it difficult to find many good resources for Advent. The prayers and liturgies in this book were really well written and easily adaptable. We ended up using a lot of their material and adding elements from our own community. In comparison to most of the other resources I found, this one was by far the best.

Stimulating comparison
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2002-07-11
As a Japanese living near Osaka, the topic -- comparison between Chicago, Moscow and Osaka is very stimulating. Although written in a highly academic style, this book is easy to read for non-academia, with a lot of historical pictures. The authorfs main concern is to put Moscow (and Russia) in a comparative perspective, but at the same time he succeeded in portraying the dynamic transformation of modern urban society vividly. I recommended this book to many friends in my country. Some day we would like to have translated version of this book for Japanese market. Many of us are fed up with situation Japan tends to be treated as overly unique or exceptional by observers Japanese and foreign alike. Our country and culture may be unique, but it is just as unique as most of the nations in the world. It seems to me that the author likes to say same thing to Russia. He successfully presented an interesting case by putting the three great non-capital cities side by side.

We were lost on how to get started after we purchased a lot and wanted to build our dream home. This book guided us, step-by-step, on what to do and what not to do. It gave us check off lists, product information and guidelines to assist us in designing our home with all the goodies we wanted in it. It also helped us in qualifying a builder and what to look for when we previewed the builder's work. The information we gained by reading this book saved us much time and money. We highly recommend anyone building a custom home to read this book first!

This book is one of the major classics of American philosophy. For more than half a century, it has rewarded readers with many insights into the elusive problem of the nature of beauty and the way it in which beauty is perceived. Profound and serious, The Sense of Beauty is written with all the lucidity and brilliance that only a writer like Santayana could achieve.

Clearly explains the basic premises to learn all dances.
Helpful Votes: 11 out of 11 total.
Review Date: 1998-07-01
First written 20 years ago and later updated, this book clearly explains the basic premises to the understanding and study of any dance form, new or old. Ms. Blair stresses that rhythm differentiates the dances from each other. Thus anybody will have no problem learning any dance. For me, it was a rediscovery of the dance principles which I had always known for decades yet had simply taken for granted. The book has given me a new perspective and renewed creativity in dance teaching.

Great Retelling of a Classic

This was my daughter's favorite book when she was four. The illustrations are darling, and the text is clever. It's great to see a nicely-done classic without the too-familiar Disney trappings.
