This is a strange story set in the mountains. I first read the manuscript as a galley proof. John F.Blair, publisher, asked me to do the book jacket design. Even though I only read it twice -- once to get the energy from the book for the cover design, and the next time for the story. Even after all these years, the energy of the book is still with me. It has a mysterious quality that lingers on in the consciousness. I feel that it is a story that makes a lasing impression. tt extends ones awareness beyond words.

Testo fondamentale nello studio dell'arte islamica e in grado di mostrare anche ai meno esperti i tesori di un mondo troppo a lungo sconosciuto in occidente.

Simply a spectacular book. The text is fascinating and the images are first rate. The art and architecture of Islam is elegant and beautiful, obviously when you think of Islamic Architecuture of this period you think of the Taj Mahal, which of course, is one of the most spectacular buildings in the world, but there are so many others. This book will make you really appreciate the Architectuere and Art of this wonderful religion. Highly recommended.

A funny, useful and sometimes surprising gastronomic tour.

Review Date: 1998-11-11
As is typical of his work, Don O'Briant has filled his latest book with humor, insight, creativity and accurate information. He's a well-known Atlanta journalist and has a reporter's discerning eye. But he's also a philosopher and a warm and sympathetic observer of the human condition. Gratefully, his restaurant reviews aren't like other people's. You feel like you're really there and can experience for yourself the people, smells and sights he describes. The inclusion of comments by notable Southernors is an original and effective device. You can tell that he is a down-to-earth (but incredibly observant) person who genuinely likes the places he went and the people he met. And, best of all, he's a great judge of food. Zagat, take notice! I recommend the book highly.

What a delight!

I have used this book extensively in my travels throughout the South. In fact, I have planned some of my trips so that I can sample the delicious food found at the country cafes recommended by the author. My only complaint would be that the author has not come forth with a second book; I have some nominees for him!

This book has barre combinations that are easy to read. Combinations are listed as easy, intermediate, and advanced which is very useful. Many of the combinations are ordinary, but it is a useful book especially as a jumping off point for writing your own combinations. All the sets are very authentic and correct for a basic class.

This delightfully illustrated story will appeal to children aged two to five. The first time we read it together, my daughter and I giggled at the clever rhymes, frenzied pace, and sudden ending. The animals get together for a feast, and all the foods they bring are vegetarian. "Moose bring juice and mice bring rice. Fleas bring peas and flies bring pies." The story goes faster and faster, the rhyme almost becoming a tongue twister and the food flying around the table. Finally, at the end, the animals collapse into a pile to take a nap! This fun book requires at least two readings in a sitting. Enjoy! -Reviewed by Melanie Wilson

No one can resist this charming tale of animals preparing for a feast. Children love the clever rhymes, fun story, and beautiful illustrations. I have given this book to nieces, nephews, and friends' children, in addition to my own son, and it has been a favorite every time. Bruce Goldstone is a genius! This book will not disappoint you!

Mr. Cowboy, Bob Lilly, combines his love of photography with the story and personalities that made the Dallas Cowboys America's Team. Using his own personal photo archive and stories, Lilly traces the development of the Cowboys. Personalities from past Cowboy teams come to life in the book. The photos and accompanying commentary from Lilly cover everything from training camp and coaches to off the field antics. For an up close and personal look at the Cowboys during the formative years, buy this book. I can't wait for the next one; there have to be more pictures!

California "Tar Heel" Longs for N. C. Home

If this book of short stories does not make a former Tar Heel homesick, then I have not a clue as to what would... it made me want to go home immediately. The stories are funny, sad, and range in levels from wonderful to great. A librarian friend gave me this book and it is one of the best gifts I have ever received. I plan to purchase several to give as gifts. My home is now in California, but my heart will always be down home in North Carolina.

Great for giving.......just TRY hanging on to your own copy!

I'm ordering what must be my fourth or fifth copy of this terrific little book. It's a comforting, warm, fuzzy, and sometimes funny set of recollections sure to regenerate the reader's own rememberances of home. I try to keep a copy beside the bed in my guest room, but alas, my guests are always so taken with what they've read before turning out the light that I always have to say "Just take my copy along with you. I'll get another." I've also given it to friends in the process of fighting terrible illnesses. They find peace in the authors' accounts, conjuring up their own memories of home.

DAYTON SAYS: BUY THIS AUDIO BOOK

I am ashamed to say that I did not know this author, Isabel Allende, before I purchased this audio book. Well, now I do know her, and I intend to read or listen to all of her literary contributions. Isabel Allende is easily one of our greatest living authors.

If you like books that are epics, you will love this book. You'll be taken to England, Chile, China, and California. You will find your heart rejoicing at times and broken at other times. The author has written a novel with historical information. I should add that she has written some very wise words to help guide ones life.

The reader, Blair Brown, for this audio book is exceptional. I have listened to hundreds of audio books, and I consider Blair Brown to be one of the best.

I should point out that this is NOT an abrided audio. I stopped listening to abridged audios long ago.

I don't want to say anything that would give away the plot, and so I will just end as I always do, and I absolutely state ... DAYTON SAYS: BUY THIS AUDIO BOOK (OR THE BOOK ITSELF).

Great literature!

The catchy title of this book is so appropriate for this day in time. This book is so easy to read and understand and answers so many questions that have been unanswered by other nutrition books and diet books. Thank you, Dr. Blair, for sharing this with us and for giving us hope that we can have the energy back that stress took from us.

Unlike most health books, this is easy to read and I highly recommend it.

Evil never dies.

In 1974, teenager Sharon Webster witnessed the horrifying death of Gavin Burns at the hands of the Blair Witch. Refusing the face the truth, she reported that Gavin had been killed by a bear, and from that day on, she has lived in denial. Twenty-six years later, Sharon has a sixteen-year-old daughter of her own, Kayla, and a fifteen-year-old niece named Erin. When Kayla begins to have nightmares about the events her mother witnessed, she is determined to find out the truth her mother has been hiding. So Kayla and Erin, along with Kayla's boyfriend, Jon, hike to the woods Kayla saw in her dreams. But the three teens are making a big mistake. Because although Gavin is dead, the evil that destroyed him lives on. And now it's after Kayla, Erin, and Jon. This was a terrifying addition to the Blair Witch Files series.

The scariest installment yet...

Review Date: 2001-04-22
In the summer of 1974, sixteen-year-old Sharon Webster is sent away to camp at Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland. Here she meets Gavin Burns, a boy who wears a "Plague" T-shirt in honour of his favourite band, and is obsessed with the occult, tarot cards and everything to do with the Blair Witch. Gavin is infatuated with Sharon and sets about trying to prove the Witch's existence to impress her. The plot goes tragically wrong and results in Sharon witnessing the horrifying death of Gavin in the swamps near to Deep Creek Lake.

Now forty two years old, and with a sixteen year old daughter of her own, Sharon has done her best to forget that the events at Deep Creek Lake ever happened. But for her daughter, Kayla, it isn't so easy. Her mother has never spoken of the events that went on, yet Kayla finds herself dreaming of a boy in a "Plague" T-shirt holding a Tarot Card to symbolise death. He tells her his name is Gavin and begs for help as she watches him drown in the swamp. Kayla is frightened by these dreams but her mother refuses to tell her what happened. Together with her cousin Erin and boyfriend Jon, Kayla resolves to seek the truth about the secret her mother is keeping from her. As in the Blair Witch Project movie itself, the three venture into the forest, armed with a video camera and determined to find answers. But is history about to repeat itself, and who will be the next victim of the Blair Witch?

This is the scariest book in the Blair Witch Files so far. The action is fast-paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. This book was more about being scary than having an interesting or complicated plot. I really recommend "The Death Card" and the remaining books in this series to all teen readers and horror fans.
