What a great little book! As a beginning juicer, this book was exactly what I needed to put our family on the road to better nutrition. With few ingredients and a clear explanation of the benefits of each "concoction", we are thoroughly enjoying our first introduction to the juicing world. Highly recommended for not only its simple recipes but also for the attractive presentation.

I wont ever need another juicing book (nor do i want one). This book has everything a newcommer to juicing, like myself, or even an experienced juicer could use.
The recipes aren't too simple to where its like, "Duh, i know you juice lemons to make lemon juice.", but they aren't too complicated either. There is such variety in here that anyone is likely to find something that they would like. Natalie Savona even leaves helpful litle descriptions on each recpie of the juice (or smoothie) and even goes so far as to leave the vitamins in each recipie as well as a rating of 0 to 5 stars of the value it has pertaining to; energy, detoxification, immunity, skin health, and digestive health.
If you are into to juicing PICK THIS UP. I have read enough crappy reviews of other juicing books to fill this lengthy post up 100 times. Don't waste your money on anything else.

I just love this book. The first great thing is that it is spiral bound so you can leave it open to the recipe while you make it. There are hundreds of recipes for juices, smoothies, frozen fruit slushes, fizzy quenchers and even some fruit infused teas. Every drink has a side bar on the things it is good for ie: detox, energy etc. and in the back it lists various ailments and which drinks are good for them.On top of this all the drinks I have tried so far have been wonderful. I am very pleased with this book.

I love the way this book is organized. I got this book as I am new to juicing! I love how its organized by what ingredients you need. Also is very helpful on what the drink is good for (ex.immunity). I have loved all the recipes so far. Also informative- who would have thought you can't juice a banana!

I love this book! I'm new to juicing and some things I didn't think I could handle drinking, but the author did a good job making everything sound so yummy! I really love how she organized the fruits. It's nice to go into my kitchen and see that I have a pineapple I need to use and then have several recipes to go with it. My husband is most likely thinking it's going to end up on the shelf untouched like the rest, but I think this is definately a keeper :)

Through the years I've read heaps of marketing books, some great, and some not so great. This book falls into the category of great books!
As always Jack Trout makes tough and complicated things easy and comprehendable. As all of his books this is a great read, but if you haven't read 'positioning' and 'marketing warfare' I would highly recommend you to read them first.

Few marketing books has the enjoyable read character. it is safe to say that Big Brands...Big trouble leads the pack. Concise yet informative, the book focus on the notion that marketing is about winning your customers' minds and hearts.

By going through ample examples of famous brands, Mr. Trout dispel some of the conventinoal strategies most companies blindly undertake. Line extention according to him, has done nothing but damage to At&T and Miller Brewing. The giant P&G has lost big on the toothpaste line becasue they forgot what made their brand a hit. Fashionable outlets such as Levi' and M&S needs to rise out from the past and look more into the future by developing their own unique "brand lifestyle".

On the dark side, the book is relatively redundant and by the end of it, it looses out. Also, the recurring negative remarks on another business guru "Michel Porter" was needless and hence lost the book the full the mark.

¡§Big Brands Big trouble¡¨ is a very interesting and comprehensive book. This book have a clear organization which comprise several types of popular mistakes with different big brand cases, how to select a board of directors and how to be a good CEO. I think this book is suitable for anyone who is interested in Marketing or Branding because you could gain a lot of insight from it. After reading this book, you will understand why some brands cannot be established well even they have spent a lot money on advertising, introducing many new products.

This book impress me the most is that Jack Trout illustrated all mistakes clearly by showing how the big brands, like Levis, Burger King, AT&T and Marks and Spencer made in the past. Then you may discover that some of the existing well-known brands are actually making mistakes for their marketing strategies. Moreover, you may get surprise that some of the popular marketing strategies, like line extension, benchmarking cannot promote your product, conversely, they will hurt your company seriously. So you must read this book if you want to surpass your competitors by using appropriate marketing strategies for your company.

Overall speaking, this book is easy to read and understand because Jack Trout delivered a concise and important message in the book ¡V ¡§Marketing is a battle of perception, not product¡¨

At first I was reluctant to purchase yet another book on spirituality, fearing that it would just take me out of the present moment and further away from myself.

Oh how wrong I was!

This book does the exact opposite! It's like a trusted companion. Someone whom you will look forward to spending time with. It reads more like a conversation then a book and encourages you to respond.

I feel a sense of freedom, of not being a prisoner of my own mind or someone else's when reading Brian's words. There is enough space between the pages of this book for it's readers to grow, express (write, dance, love, and just be) and explore. You are not just learning material (which that happens too), but you learn about yourself in the present moment.

Peel back your layers and get to the heart of the matter. Let these words color your world and bask in your GLOW!

There is a profound simplicity about the writings that Brian has shared with us, that speaks to a multitude of states the mind can be in at any given time. Some quite reflective, while some make you smile, others stir the emotions. A diverse book of introspection, souvenirs of life.

What a marvelous gift I gave to myself and to my entire family!
Brian Piergrossi is a vessel of light, healing, unconditional love and transformation to the world. Through his book "The Big Glow", he reminds us of the simplest pleasures of life and inspire us to better know our own divine selves! In essence he tells us that in the state of bliss everything is loved and how bliss is not a feeling but a state of being! I love reading this book by myself or with my children! I highly recommend that you read it aloud and feel every word deep within your soul, simple poems become prayers and declarations of personal freedom and exaltation. It's so much fun to just close my eyes and open the book to any page and find the perfect message to begin my day. This book is so unique that can be read from the end to the beginning or randomly as your heart calls for it. Go for it and treat yourself to this literary treasure.

"I own many books. And I've purchased many books. And I've given away many books. Every time I move, every time I break up with a live-in boyfriend or a lover, when a friend moves on or I just have to lighten my load, I get rid of books.

The ones I still have, forty-two years after my birth, are the ones which have become my best friends. Books with which I simply cannot part, these are my best friends. They inspire me, challenge me, treat me with respect, and honor me as a beautiful and unique being. They help me to free myself, they make me laugh and I find aspects of myself in the midst of my life with them.

"The Big Glow" will be with me, in my bookshelf, in my hands, on my desk and in my occasional recitals of poetry to friends. Perhaps it might even be one of those books that remains with me carelessly piled two books below a top one on my night stand, found in my home when they find me at the end of my days.

I am so deeply grateful for Brian Piergrossi, the author, and his god, "The Big Glow," for being there whenever I have needed and will need yet again to reflect on the rich place I call my life."

I think my favorite thing about this book are the detailed "anatomy of a truck" drawings--"dolly wheels", air brake lines, front axel, etc. I learned the vocabulary of trucks from this book, so now my 3 year old son and I can talk about trucks more intelligently as we drive down the road. My son loves the book and never turns it down. I like reading it, too.

A great book! My 19-month old son is another second generation "Big Joe". He asks me to read this to him almost every night..and I can remember reading this book with my dad 26 or so years ago. We read all the time, but Big Joe's Trailer Truck is the only one I remember after all these years.

This is an interesting little book that my girls really liked. Yes, I said girls, but they were and still are Tomboys, so it's not that unusual for them to like a book about trucks. This story follows Joe as he gets up in the morning, goes to work at the truck depot, says hello to his go-workers, gets in his truck and makes a deliver of toys to a city several hundred miles away. Joe is on the road for a long time. He works hard and deserves the rest he gets at the end of the day.

Whenever we're on the road, and we take a lot of driving trips, my girls smile at the big rigs we pass, often wondering aloud if it's Big Joe behind the wheel. I loved reading this story to my girls and they loved hearing it as they looked at Joe Mathieu's wonderful illustrations. He really makes Big Joe come life.

I, too, fondly recall having this book read to me by my father as a child. Now I'm a father, and I'm reading it to my 2 year old sons (the same copy!). The story line is simple but not patronizing, the illustrations are busy and colorful, and the kids love learning about trucks as the story unfolds. How else could a 2 year old not only know what an "air filter" is, but know that it sticks out the top of the hood to collect air?

I loved this book as a kid 25 years ago, and now I love reading it to my 20-month old son. My son loves Joe, too, and wants to read it over and over. Joe seems like such a friendly, hard-working fellow, and he's a wonderful example for kids. The illustrations are about the best I've ever seen in a children's book, so good, in fact, I sometimes pick it up even after my son goes to bed!

This book is about 345 pages and it was a very easy book to read. Brick (Baron Kennedy) was abandoned by his drug addicted mother. He ended up staying with a family that abused him and also threatened to kick him out.

When Brick was a teenager, he met Misty and came to adore and do anything for her. Brick got his d_ck sucked for her by another man (Frankie) and even got his face scarred for her(by Frankie).

Misty and Brick stayed together even though Misty treated Brick worser than dirt. Now, Misty is pimping out Brick and other people.

The story takes its drastic turn when Misty, on a run for some "Shane" sex, meets up with Monroe and Dane. Monroe and Dane are "cousins" and Dane looks just like her deceased pretty boy boyfriend "Shane." The two have sex and Misty moves him in with her and Brick.

Brick jacks off to Misty and Dane having sex and basically the book takes you through all types of sex scenarios. Oftentimes, I would have to put the book down and take a rest because the sex was just so freaky.

All in all the book was very good. The SEX was stronger than the overall storyline though. The storyline could have been much stronger if Hobbs had not focused so much attention on the sex scenes--especially the long drawn out scenes of some woman placing her tongue around the head of some guys "jawn" or some woman's big juicy puzzy causing some guy so much distress.

Misty and Brick are back with more drama then ever. After the death of their partner-in-crime Shane, Misty and Brick try to press on without him. Misty is the brains of their criminal activity, and Brick is the muscle. Brick has no trouble giving in to every one of Misty's demands. Misty soon comes up with a scheme to make money that makes Brick extremely uncomfortable. Misty's world is sent into a tailspin when she falls for a mysterious man named Dane. Dane looks just like Shane and Misty is instantly smitten by him. Brick swallows his pride and accepts Dane and Misty's relationship. Dane learns of Misty's lucrative business and wants a piece of the pie. But does Dane have ulterior motives? How long will this strange love triangle last?

Big Juicy Lips is an exciting sequel to Double Dippin' by Allison Hobbs. Hobbs did a great job in bringing back Misty and Brick. You get a better background into their strange relationship with this story. With this novel, readers get a chance to get inside the head of Brick and see what makes him tick. Misty is a character that you will love to hate. This story would not be complete without some jaw-dropping twists and steamy sex that will keep you flipping the pages. Big Juicy Lips is a stimulating, page-turning novel that can be enjoyed by all.

This book has been out in the hands of good teachers/parents/child care folks/kids for awhile now, but I've found that it is new to many kids who are just discovering it. One little guy I worked with recently as a visiting author to his school told me: "I didn't know a tennis ball could be so interesting, did you?" He was referring to painting with tennis balls. Our group tried several approches with painty tennis balls....rolling them around in a wading pool covered with paper, tossing them at a wall of paper outdoors, holding and pressing on paper, bouncing on paper on the floor, and a few other ideas that kids thought up that are NOT in the book, but should have been. Read on: The little guy who told me tennis balls are interesting had thought up a idea where he rolled the ball deliberately through paint and then along the border of large paper. Within the border, he made dot-prints with different colors of paint. When it was dry, he outlined each dot with a black marker. The result was a huge bubbly design painting. I was impressed with his process, and the resulting painting was delightful and all his own! I love when my books give kids a boost to be their own artists and live in their own creativity. What a great day spending time with kid-artists. Someday I'll collect all their unique ideas and write a new book called "Kids Are More Artistic Than I Am!" Keep having fun with kids, from your friend, MaryAnn Please visit my website for free art ideas: www.brightring.com.

Leo Lionni has a wonderful simplistic style of art that many children relate to. I teach Kindergarten and love to use this book for a prediction activity. We talk about what the fish's perspective must be like, and using "mind movies" to visualize what he must be imagining as the frog describes his adventure. After I read the first recollection of the frog, I have the children imagine what the fish is imagining. I give them time to see what the fish is seeing, then I reveal what he actually saw. We do a quick check- in to see similarities and differences, then I distribute paper to do a "drawn prediction" for each of the following descriptions. My class loves it. Try it at home or in class. Have fun!

Fish is Fish by Leo Lionni is a great book for little kids with great imaginations. In this book a tadpole and a fish are friends. There are many things to learn from this book. I believe that this book should be read by little kids.

The pictures in this book are creative. The pictures are made from imagination. But, it might be better if he used the right colors. The book would really stand out to little kids. Little kids and beginners would love this book for its pictures. It has easy words for beginners to practice reading with.

Their friendship will make you happy even if you're really angry since nothing is better than friendship. For instance, frog left for a long time and eventually returned and fish was not mad. When he came back, he told amazing stories. The story wouldn't be complete without their friendship.

After a day with joy and frustration fish learns, "Frogs are frogs," and "Fish are fish." Fish risked his life to see what frog had described to him. Frog proved to be a hero and a friend. Fish learned a valuable lesson. Frog and fish remained friends.

Fish is Fish is something I definitely recommend. Young kids who are mad at a friend should totally read it. With all the happy events it makes it to a book that's great for friends. I liked how the author put the events in the way he did. Beginning readers should really read this book.

The Taschen book reproduces his work beautifully, showcasing the washes and color use that make his work truly sublime. It also contains some wonderful photographs of the buildings he designed, which make one wish all construction could be so imaginative. This book was more than I expected for a very fair price.

This book really shows off Hundertwasser and is a great addition to any art collection. This is another hit by Taschen.

REVIEW SUBTITLE: A Serendipitous Purchase

While I had come across references to "the art of Hundertwasser," because I knew only of him as an architect and consider architecture an art, I assumed that the colorful work adorning the cover of this book was one of the Gaudi-esque architect's occasionally fancified plans. As a number probably know, however, it is not. Rather it is but one of Hundertwasser's many paintings.

Though I'd expected a book on architecture, I was not disappointed to receive one focusing on H's development as a painter. In fact, I was elated, for splashed across approximately 2/3rds of the 197 pages of this book are what had originally attracted me to him: the "lush opulence" of what I now know are his watercolors and paintings.

This book, however, is not just a visual feast. In addition tracing his development as an artist, the text includes and discusses H's thoughts on topics such as those noted in the Table of Contents I've included in the commentary following this review. And while some may seem esoteric, the discussions are not. In fact, they're fascinating.

That most of the focus of Taschen's retrospective of H and his work is on water colors/painting is not surprising, for so few of his structures were ever realized. However, approximately 30 well-illustrated pages are devoted to H's theories about architecture, his architectural models, and the utopian structure he was commissioned by the city of Vienna to build.

I was certainly correct in one assumption I made when I ordered HUNDERTWASSER: With the words "Taschen 25th Anniversary" attached to its title, I could not go wrong. Nor will anyone who purchases it.

Note: Lest you give any weight to L. Egan's comment about the book's "downsides," please read my response to his review.

Eye candy, but not fattening!

I am a quilter, and bought this book largely because of my love for batiks,(which are cotton fabrics hand dyed)and on recollection of a show I saw 32 years ago on Hundertwasser in Toronto's ROM.I like it,big time.Yep,there's no gold leaf in them thar hills and curves of Hundertwasser repros,if it bothers you enough, grab a gold leaf marker and add it yourself.Taschen offers value for your money,if you want gold leaf, you may have to add another 20.00 to the cost of the book.I have no problems about the quality of the repros.Anything that looks like pale brown, try and doublecheck,it is likely it is gold leaf. The artist may not have alot to say as other painters, but his designs, and color sense are really got me going into my studio.
I am glad I got it!

a readable, interesting art book

Any book about art or an artist that doesn't make me fall asleep gets five stars from me. The only downside (but it still gets five stars) as that you don't get the full representation of the pictures and need to look at the description to see the medium. For example the foil overlay. Still wonderful. (Feb 17, 2008)

I eventually found a small, beautiful, cloth-bound catalogue of his Australian and New Zealand exhibitions (the one I have was produced in 1973 by cicero, gmbh and titled 'Hundertwasser 1974 Australia') and there you get glimpse of the phosphoric metallic brilliance that I find missing in many of the books about Hundertwasser - although for the price of these books, no complaint. This book and the catalogue are a good combination. The catalogue I was able to find at a very reasonable price of $30, but it took a bit of searching. (April 16, 2008)

Winicki delivers what he promises. You get lots of usable information on headlines and how to write a small print ad. Most of what's in the book could also apply to direct mail ads. If you are looking for your first advertising book, for your small business, this is it. Easy to read and gets to the point.

Great for those new to creating small ads

If you have a small business, you don't like to read much and you are clueless about advertising - this is an awesome little book. It will teach you the basics of creating effective ads in about 100 pages. With some practice, your business is bound to improve and this little book will pay for itself many times over.

The author goes straight to the point, without wasting your time and for that I would've given this book 5 stars if it weren't that the lack of proper editing of this book took my mind for a spin several times. At the beginning of the book, there is a lovely headlines "The Noise My Customers Make!", followed by a happy customer testiominial which ends with "Well, you're wrong if you think that ... Mike [the author of this book] can do for your business what he did for mine."

So, if you can overlook this and a couple of other blunders in this book, the book teaches you how to focus on benefits, as opposite to features, of the product or service you are offering, how to create effective headlines, and how to design them. The focus of the book is on creating effective headlines, and briefly mentioning few additional benefits, since there's not much more you can put in a small add. If you want to learn how to write effective (longer) body copy, you'll have to turn to bigger books.

Fantastic Book! EVERY small business owner should buy it!

This was a great book! Don't spend one penny on advertising until you read it. It is amazing how many small business owners are literally throwing money away on ads that are terrible. After I finished it, I opened my yellow pages and noticed that easily 90% of the ads are terrible. This book will show anyone how to write an effective ad and give you an edge over your local competitors. Enjoy!

Overlook the lack of editing.

I don't remember when I've read a book that was more painful to read than KILLER TECHNIQUES TO SUCCEED WITH NEWSPAPER, MAGAZINE AND YELLOW PAGES ADVERTISING by Michael Winicki. This book was produced sans editor/proofreader. There are errors on virtually every page of the book. The book is barely 100 pages and could have easily been condensed down to a booklet. The book is self-published and is the sort of thing that will give self publishing a bad name. I know from Winicki's reputation, he does not possibly submit ad copy with so many errors. Also, the back cover is so blurred, my 50+ year old eyes can hardly read it.

So right about now you're probably thinking, "Do I really want to spend my hard earned money on this, and why the generous five star rating?" Simple. I have to consider, even with the lack of editing, was the book worth the money I paid for it? Well, let me just say, I believe what I learned from this book will pay the price a hundred times over! There are literally notes and highlights on virtually every page of my copy. This is a book I know I will refer to time and time again.

I learned so much from these error laden pages, I don't know where to begin! So I'm just going to say, buy this book. Struggle through it. It is more than worth the effort.

And to Mr. Winicki, thank you for producing this valuable resource, but before you publish your next book, send me a copy. I will be very happy to edit your work for a reasonable fee. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

If you are new to creating space ads or writing copy, this is an excellent book to get you started. You will see many concrete examples and you will start to think like a advertising guru. However, if you are an experienced ad designer or copy writer and hoping for some fresh ideas, then you may be disappointed.

This is an outstanding book for all the reasons mentioned below. The recipes are written clearly and easy to follow. I recieved this book as a gift a year ago, and have tried many of the recipes since then. Almost all have been excellent, and it's become the baking cookbbook I pick up first when I'm thinking about making dessert.
