Berry Books

'Accounting in a Business Context' is an attractively presented text for non-accountants which draws on interesting examples from business life to illustrate various points. However, from the beginner's point of view, it lacks the simple summaries and overviews that could make it a useful reference work and its index is sadly lacking fundamental concepts such as Turnover, Output, Capital, Standard Costs, Shadow Prices, etc. (Interestingly, it does include Tottenham Hotspur - one of the authors' favourite teams I understand!) This book occasionally exhibits beautiful, poetic writing, but it has no plot. It's impossible to tell what's happening at any point. The writing, despite the beautiful images, is thoroughly opaque and nonsensical. It's sort of about a man during the Civil War who goes back to a plantation where he once worked as a scribe to see if his promiscuous, mysterious ex-mistress is still there -- I think. I *think* he's remembering all this while he's on his way to a Northern prison camp. It's really pretty hard to tell. I don't recommend this.

My daughter loves Strawberry Shortcake and she loves princesses, so I thought this would be a natural winner. I suppose it would have been, had there actually been more than 3 or 4 pictures of Strawberry and her friends as princesses. Most of the pictures, while cute enough, seemed to follow no theme. Oh well.

I was very dissappointed when I first bought this book an arrangers guide. I was looking for a book that will help me arrange fresh fruits and vegetables in baskets for gift giving.The title gives us no hint that this book is referring to fake fruits. On a positive note, I learned to make beautiful center pieces for my dining table and trees that look so real and truly magnificent. It gives great ideas in decorating mirrors and door accents . Great for creative people.

Passionless pontification and little more. There are better teaching aids out there.

"It's Bed Time" tells a story about a little brother and sister going to bed and the steps involved in bedtime -- cleaning up toys, taking a bath, brushing teeth, etc. It even includes a bedtime chart in the back. But there are a couple of problems, one being that I see Amazon says the suggested age range is 4-8. As the mother of a 3-year-old, I think this book is much better suited to ages 2-5. Most annoying, though, is the electronic recording of "Lullabye and Goodnight" included with the book, which is so painfully loud to hear that I cannot believe that it wouldn't be damaging to a little one's ears. The volume is just about right when my hand is pressed tight over the speaker, otherwise it's just too loud.

Needing Attention and Feeling Sad are some of our favorite books. Most of the Joy Wilt Berry books are fabulous. This one just wasn't written in a child-friendly enough way for our kids. Perhaps it's trying to do too many things on terribly sensitive issues. Never mind. Buy all the other Joy Wilt Berry books and you'll have a great time talking with your kids about feelings and behavior. They will like the discussions.

P.S. I have 2 kids who are as different as can be. One with special emotional needs, the other typically developing-very bright. One active and rambunctious, the other sedentary.... They both like the Joy Wilt Berry books, but not this one.

This book contains some useful information, but it is poorly organized and very sloppy. It is hard to quickly find specific API calls and it is loaded with errors.

If you are buying this for the API documentation, the MSDN documentation is much better. Some of the API documentation is blatantly wrong, and the example code is full of errors.

Overall I was not impressed. This book could be good in the next edition if they check their code, organize the book better, and do a bit more editing!

The photos were great and gave good detailing to the glass however many of the prices did not accurately reflect what Vaseline is selling for. Basically it's just an updated version of the older version with different pictures.
