This cookbook is special. I spent many days at Knotts Berry Farm and the Chicken House was always a special treat. The recipes
are great and the buttermilk biscuits are the best I ever made. Everytime I serve them I am asked for the recipe. This is
a great book for those who love classic cookbooks

Ms. O'Hare and her assistants spent an amazing amount of quality reference time putting together a stellar work that details
every legal exectution in the State of California. The only drawback to this book is the cost, which puts it out of reach
for all but libraries and serious scholars. Great work!!

This is a fantastic, lovely, gorgeous facsimile of the Tres Riche Heures Du Duc de Berry. Illustrated by the Limbourg brothers
between 1413-1416 (with some illustrations by another artist around 1450) for Jean de France, duc de Berry.
In addition to the standard 12 months and the biblically inspired illuminations, this book includes Pognon's analysis of the illumination with comments about which Limbourg brother did which illumination.
Well worth the price.

Let's Talk about being Selfish, We Know it's Wrong

This children's book by Joy Berry is short, to the point and has excellent comic book type illustrations that will catch any
toddler's eye. The book opens with little blond and very selfish Katie not wanting to share her toys with red-headed Sam.
Your toddler will learn right off the bat that other children do not like playing with selfish kids, because selfish kids
care more about themselves than they do others.
You'll be asking your toddler as you read along how he or she feels and thinks about selfish children. Do they feel left out? Do they feel angry? Your toddler will get the picture pretty fast that selfish is just not the way to be.
And to reinforce the don't be selfish theme, the second half of the books shows Sam playing with his new friend, Tami. Unlike Katie, Sam is not selfish and he and Tami enjoy themselves playing while Katie is obviously left out, because nobody like a selfish little girl, or boy.
Ms. Berry's books are all delightful and it's a puzzle to me why they are so hard to get. One would think that this is the kind of book every toddler should grow up with. I'm glad I have them and my son Devon is too.

This children's book by Joy Berry is short, to the point and has excellent comic book type illustrations that will catch any
toddler's eye. The topic here is whining and why it's a bad thing to do.
In this story you and your toddler will read about Annie and her stuffed rabbit, who can think, but not talk. Annie and her Bunny start learning right from the get go that disobeying is not a good thing. For one thing, it'll make Mom (and/or Dad) mad, for another there are very good reasons why your parents tell you not to do things. The want you to grow up learning how to be both fair and careful. Annie learns that her parents are not bossing her around just because they are bigger, but because they have lived longer and are wiser. When they tell her do do something, it's for her own good. There are valuble lessons here for your toddler and as usual, Ms. Berry tells her story in a way that will keep any child interested.

Let's Talk About it and Not Overdo it

This children's book by Joy Berry is short, to the point and has excellent comic book type illustrations by John Costanza
that will catch any toddler's eye.
The message here is that your child should not overdo anything. If he or she overdoes eating, they can get a stomach ache. It they overdo staying up and don't go to bed till late, they can't get up on time in the morning. If they overdo playing with just one person, they won't have many friends. And they certainly shouldn't overdo TV. That is something I heartily agree with. In fact my gal Sara and I don't have have a TV. We read to our son Devon. In fact we read a lot of Joy Berry's books to him.
Ms. Berry's books are all delightful and it's a puzzle to me why they are so hard to get. One would think that this is the kind of book every toddler should grow up with. I'm glad I have them and my son Devon is too.

When is it okay to say "no"?

This book is a great way to teach kids when it is appropriate to say "no" and when it is not. For instance, if your friend
wants to trade dolls with you, and don't want to trade, it is okay to say "no." When someone tries to convince you to do
something you know is wrong, is it okay to say "no." But it is not right to say "no" if it is a lie (e.g. "did you break
this vase?") or when your mother asks you to do something that will prevent you from getting hurt or damaging property.
It also teaches about saying "no" politely when you don't want to do something, such as play with a friend. We often think
of "no" as a negetive word, but this book reminds us all - adults and kids alike - that sometimes saying "no" is the wise
thing to do.
