If you love a good fantasy, you're in for a real treat with FROM WITHIN THE MIST!
In THE FACE by Jeanine Berry, we move into the future. Scientists have been studying the giant face on this forsaken planet for quite some time. What happens when a young woman with psy powers finds something within the statue within days of arriving? And what exactly does she find?
In THE PRICE OF THE SONG by Lazette Gifford, we go back to medieval times. We meet a bard, captured by a group of bandits, blinded and forced to play for them. The bard was used to playing for kings and is now forced to play for bandits. What happens when a beautiful Dryad offers him freedom in exchange for a song?
In THE ANCIENT ONE by Sheri L. McGathy, we meet a being. This being lives in the mist. She was born in the mist and has spent all her time within. The beings finally go to a planet and she befriends the spirits of the forest. They show her a glimpse of the future, a horrible future she is determined to avoid. The spirits ask for her help. Will she stay, or will she leave with the rest of her kind?
These are just a few of the wonderful stories contained in the anthology. These are all wonderfully written stories, guaranteed to transport you to another time and place. These stories all have a feel of the uncommon and a unique quality and fit well together. I highly recommend this anthology to all lovers of fantasy!

The part I liked was when the girl had a dream that could make anyone invisible. She got scared when she thought her brother
went invisible. Then she begged for him to come back.He was really hiding on the wall. His sister was glad but she still wanted
to make him invisible.

I found this book to be exceptionally useful as a novice gardener with very little knowlegde on the care and propogation of
houseplants. It gives step-by-step intructions on how to care for a variety of plants from the frist day you bring it home
- everything from the type of soil it likes, how and what to fertilize with and the environment it should be kept in. Also
useful are the tips on how to propogate various types of plants from flowers to vegetable to vines. It gave me to confidence
to start new baby plantlings from the very plants I already have in my home. I highly recommend this book for anyone who
just wants one definitve "bible" on how to garden. It is a complete reference manual that no one should be without.

Joy Says Children Should Try and Get Good Grades

This is one of Joy Berry's "Survival Series for Kids" books and I have to confess that my son Devon and I like them all. I've
had them in storage for years, way before Devon was a twinkle in my eye, or my gal Sara's, and I'm glad I saved them.
In this book Ms. Berry and illustrator Bartholomew, with your help, will tell your child why it's important to get good grades. It also explains the difference between a written and verbal test and it explains that when you get the wrong answer on a test you are finding out something you need to learn. Also, your child will learn that if he does do poorly on a test that it is not the end of the world, it doesn't mean he is dumb, just that he should try a little harder next time. The book also explains the grading system used in most schools and that for sure makes it a book for children a bit older than toddlers, however my toddler and I like it just fine. Get 'em started early, that's my motto.
Though this book was written over twenty years ago, it still stands up. The excellent comic book type illustrations will keep your child interested as you read along with him or her. And for the life of me I don't know why these books are not easier to get. Joy Berry is good for children, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. If you can get a hold of her books and share them with your child, you'll both be better for it.

I bought this book for my best friend. I ended up having to get another one because I wanted to keep one for myself. I thought
that the recipes and the segments about frienship are so true. In times when it is so hard to see who is real or not this
book tells you that friends especially your girlfriends are always there. There is always something comforting about being
able to go to a friend and talk or cook with her. Besides your husband gets to be the recipient of the dishes that you bake
and cook.

I once read an article by a woman who declared that real friendships can only be developed in one's youth. What a sad thought!
And so untrue. I made my bestfriend after the age of 30, and I'll keep making new friends as long as I live. I think if you
enjoy people, there will always be opportunities for more friends. I bought a copy of this gift book for my best friend
because I love her so much, and I also love words and books. It is only because she is my best friend, that I am willing
to give it up. This lovely, thought-provoking volume hallmarks the friendships that women experience. It enhances one of
the values of being a woman beautifully: the closeness we feel to our women friends. Is there anything else like it? Being
silly, listening, encouraging, empathazing, sharing thoughts that would abhor men. It makes you really glad to know that
so many of us just love being inside the skin of a woman! This little gem shares quotes from unidentified women about their
friends. Here is a sampling: "The more we let our girlfriends know how much they are valued, the stronger our friendships
grow." "The bond that we forged so many years ago is now unbreakable." "Every healthy, loving relationship between two
people requires that both individuals be able to tolerate the differences between them." "A true friendship is in trouble
when you pick and choose what you reveal." "All we may need is a friend to share her strength , and we can become clear-headed
again." "We share our vulnerabilities with each other and come away stronger." "Regardless of culture or time or distance,
women bond together through laughter, dares, and crazy plans." There, now that I've saved some of my favorite quotes, perhaps
I can give this volume up to my friend, Cheryl.
