This is a large set of contributions from living poets about how they are affected and influenced by specific other poets and novelists. I think these first-hand accounts about how poets see their own and others' work are more valuable to writers than are the writings of critics about poetry from the outside. The subtitle is "influence and mastery" but by and large the contributors disavow the latter. The book contains a piece by each poet, other poets' work they choose to talk about, and a short discussion by the poet. I like the brevity of each and the wide range of contributions. For financial reasons, poets were asked to choose, if they could, other poets whose work is out of copyright, but the rule isn't strictly enforced, and on the whole I think it benefits the book because it makes the poets talk about old great writers like Dickinson, Whitman, Donne, as well as recent ones like Elizabeth Bishop. It gets the contributors to focus a lot on work we may already know a little about. Take Me With You When You Go

What better way to grasp the ideas of another person, especially post mortem, than to have his exact thoughts preserved and displayed in such a simple and clear format.

I hope Mr. Farkas does a series of books like this that provides us with windows into the thought processes of other iconic historical figures.

An expose on exposure. Worth every penny. A must read for anyone searching for the genesis of how one group could create science and myth in a desperate grab for superiority.

Naked Poetry was my favorite book while attending New York University in Greenwich Village beginning in 1968. Going on in the business world participating in a myriad of industries as well as the entertainment field, I was to busy to think about sitting down and devouring the poetry of Weldon Kees,Denise Levertov, Sylvia Plath and Alan Ginsberg. These were the somewhat over the top writers that I discovered as a young college student. All of them are controversial but poetry readers who also love Robert Frost (Good Fences Make Good Neighbors) and who are poetry aficionados will never put Naked Poetry down. I am deeply grateful to this outstanding book seller who located this very old publication and shipped it in very fine condition.

Naoya Hatakeyama, born in 1958, is a highly respected photographer in Japan. He has a major following in Germany because of the influence of the Bechers, with whom has thematic affinity. However, he has not yet had a major exhibition in the United States. His first retrospective in France was at the Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles this summer, where he made an enormous impression. His photographs of the last 15 years, of limestone quarries and of the transformation of lime into cement, of rivers in cement channels above and underground in Tokyo and more recent photographs of house building in the new town of Milton Keynes in England constitute major parts of this book, with an excellent and poetic text by Hatakeyama and his co-authors. In these photographs, the hand of man is everywhere but people are never seen. The images are magnificent, beautifully framed and printed. Hatakeyama is a photographer whose importance and influence will certainly increase. This volume, making available work now out of press or hard to find, is highly recommended.

This is perhaps the only graduate textbook on Natural Monopoly Regulation available. Unfortunately, it's available only in libraries, as it went out of print soon after it was published. The company has no known plans of reprint, which is a real disaster for all graduate students of the field.

This textbook is comprehensive, modelling-based, rigorous, and yet maintains connection with the realities of the peculiar regulated markets in question. This implies that not only pure theoretical models are discussed and analyzed, but also the specific regulations are embedded into presentation.

Despite the fact that the book was written in late 80s, it still serves as an invaluable reference. I wish it were in print...

I found this book very easy to find information. The fact that it is broken into sections for each entry is very helpful to get your remedies without having to read through alot of type. I have reviewed many different books of this type nad have found this one the most useful.

Bradley Foster uses primary sources to illutrate the clothing of the African American antebellum community. A must read for anyone who is interested in the social structure of the South.
