This book is much easier to read and understand than the Dragon book. The Dragon book goes into more depth, but then this book here is supposed to be an introductory text. If you are looking for one get this book before the Dragon book.

The book is very well proportioned for viewing stereographs which are presented full size and intact. Subjects and photographers are well indexed. Very pleased with my copy, an excellent companion to Darrah, Zeller, and Waldsmith.

This is a great book!

It's a quick and fun history of San Antonio, told in stories of only a few pages. The stories are perfectly told, as if Bennett were sharing them with friends. Some of the stories are well known and "traditional" - of course you have to include the Alamo - but others are almost like secrets that Bennett shares with readers. The stories told in "A Garden from stone" and "Art must go on" are along the lines of "A People's History (Zinn)."

Definitely recommend it for someone who wants to learn and then maybe retell some good stories about San Antonio.

This is a cute story. My students absolutely loved the tricky turtle. It provided great time for discussion. The kids enjoyed making predictions as we read.

This is a delightful version of this book by the author of Anne of Green Gables. We first listened to the story when we drove to Prince Edward Island with our young children. I feel that the young woman who reads this story is so perfect for the story, wonderful inflections in her reading, very articulate and expressive. The story is such that you know how much you will love PEI, and you long for the time when everything there was so simple and sweet. This is a good story, but my caution is that it is not a great story for children of divorce. It definitelty plays into the fantasy of every child of a split family that all eventually will work out and with the efforts of the child the parents will eventually get back together. Still it is a fun book, especially Montgomery's description of family members reactions to this young girl and Jane's steps to take control of her life and her happiness.

I read this over 20 years ago and I still can recall the details of this book. Few have stuck in my mind so well. Jean is a feisty teen with a big dream and a love for the Lord. She struggles with balancing family, God and her own ambitions. She was a girl I admired and I am looking forward to sharing this book now with my own daughter.

This book tells of a Bear who finds a home even though he's not perfect. Children find themselves involved with the story to the end to see how it turns out and are pleased with the happy ending. The story lets children know that no matter what your situation, or how you look, someone loves you.

This book, along with "Jesus: The Way" and "Jesus: The Truth", is very helpful as the basis for a bible study group. Bible quotes, author comments, and questions throughout the book invite interesting group discussions.

This is a wonderful resource! The chapters take you through to a closer walk with God and use relevant examples to make the topics easy to follow and useful in growing in your relationship with Christ. It is a great study to use for helping new Christians grow and develop a good Biblical foundation. I recommend all three books (The Way; The Truth; The Life).
