This is a a remarkably well written book in an easy to read style. Subjects often given only cursory attention are covered in an interesting informative way. Such as, great emphasis is placed upon the ethical and moral principles used by George Washington to create our country. Another, for example, is how the Native American, particularly the Iroquois, forms of government were partially incorporated into our Constitution. The author answers all the important questions that readers seek on the life of Washington. What he did, when, why, how, where and most importantly the results gained.
She is absolutely right in saying that Americans today are suffering from a cancer on the body politic. Too many of our leaders are acting unethically. Their behavior is a toxin that poisons our social environment. Using George Washington as a role model mentor will aid everyone in preserving the heritage provided us by our fore fathers and mothers.

I had the opportunity to share this book with a third grade class of an inner-city school during a Read-Aloud Day. This story of third-grader Andre captured the students' attention because he was someone just like themselves. The students could relate to the ethnic background of the family and could sympathize with the family's struggle to get through the week until the next paycheck arrived. I especially appreciated how the story showed how families that are not "well-to-do" can problem-solve creatively...this family may be short on money, but never are they short on love. The illustrations are beautiful and do an excellent job of supporting the story. I highly recommend this book as part of a multicultural curriculum as well as to share with your children at home.

I bought this book for a class this semester. The first minute I opened the book I was intrigued with all the tables, figures and pictures aside from all of the other information that makes this book a great tool in my glacial geology class. I'd advise this book for any geology student who wants to add to their unending libraries of college textbooks.

Gardenswartz, Rowe, Martin, and Dingh hit it well with this one. All of these powerful writers and trainers bring their energy and experience to the page with this must-have for interculturalists and diversity trainers, domestic or international. With a strong goal of helping trainers tap personal, interpersonal, and organizational aspects of diversity and change, this book is a wonderful tool filled with powerful and practical exercises and tools for training and working with groups.

Written very practically and conversationally, it is as if the authors are sitting with you as they discuss their tools. And included with the book is a CD ROM with activities from each chapter in multiple formats for your use. I highly recommend this book and am pleased to have it on my desk.

Written music is so hard to decipher it's worthiness to purchase unless the music is in front of you at a keyboard. But thanks to the sample pages here, there is at least an opportunity to get some indication if this is the right music. Fortunately, Bennett's collection of Christmas music is better than the samples. The selections are fresh, interesting and accessible. He's in the Mark Hayes league, currently my favorite arranger.

As a child I enjoyed this book as a my favorite. And now as a mother myself, I spend bedtime reading it to my daughter. She too has adopted it as her favorite!

Alvin Bennet tells an interesting tale of survival, greed, hatred, love, and class consciousness in Colonial Jamaica. This novel captures the hopelessness of black Jamaicans in that period. Bennet weaves an interesting tale interlaced with brisk West Indian humour.

This is a collection of children's poems. I found them absolutely delightful and lightheartedly funny. My little daughter enjoyed hearing them as much as I did reading them. Poetry is something every child should be able to experience and enjoy.

There's much more to the type of Frederic Goudy than Goudy Oldstyle, and you'd be suprised at some of the familiar typefaces that came from his hand. He created over 100 types, including what is now known as Berkely and Copperplate. Most designers are lucky if ONE of their types finds its way into common use. Goudy has at least ten. This is a facsimile of a volume that appeared in Goudy's lifetime. My only complaint is that I wish it had been reproduced on letterpress -- printed pages produced by modern means do not carry the same authority, or produce the characteristic relief of the old printing methods. Nonetheless, we are fortunate to have it available.
