Bennett Books

I came across this long-forgotten book while weeding and re-shelving at my son's school library. Even at 40+ years old, the jokes and cartoons gave a few chuckles, and were a source of immense hilarity for my son.

I'm not going to claim that this book was Bennett Cerf's greatest contribution to society, but it's worth checking out of the library or picking up at a garage sale. Recommended.

I was a child, about 6 years old when i recieved this book, i didnt want to wait for a grown-up to read it to me, so i learned through this book how to sound out words and speak them clearly, even at 6 years old, i knew this book was wonderful, so innocent, yet charming, im in my 40`s now and still love to go back and read some of the funny quips mr. cerf came up with, i have also shared this book with my children and they love it as well.

What a great book for travel and leisure! It has over 30 stories--each with a brief bio of the author--and the authors range from Isak Dinesan, Aldous Huxley, Dylan Thomas,to Cather, O'connor, Capote,du Maurier, Graham Greene,Updike,Faulkner and more! It is well worth the investment for where it takes YOU!

Mr. Hubbell's book is a genealogical gold mine for anyone with ancestors in the area. He very briefly explores the area's history during this seventy-year period and includes a rather comprehensive compilation of its historical documents with emphases upon its early families and their individual names through censuses, maps, photos, locations of old cemeteries, persons buried in these cemetaries, etc. (These comprise the major part of the book.) The effort had to be a work of love for the author.
My early copy is a xeroxed, spiral-bound edition, but it remains my most prized genealogical document, as it was through this book that I found the graves of my great grandparents in a weed-grown, unmarked, abandoned cemetery.

This book is really the closest thing out there to a textbook on jury consulting. Cathy "Cat" Bennett was one of the first and one of the best in this field; Robert Hirschhorn, her husband, has carried on Cat's work since her untimely demise.

Lawyers learn alot about the law, and alot about procedures and the like, but very little about real persuasive skills or salesmanship. This book fills in the gaps in a very effective way.

I bought this book and I was so impressed.Technology has turned a classic book originally printed in the early 1970's to a superb reprinted edition.Its a real gem.The quality is the best.This book is now a classic.This book will please most owners and enthusiasts.
