I wept when I read this book as a child. The book was a gift to me from my father twenty years ago, and I recently passed
it to my best friend's daughter. It is the story of a young girl's love of the deer in the woods around her house, and of
the community's love for this child and her family. It is a beautiful story, with beautiful, spare illustrations and I
hope it will remain available to many generations.

Mary Bell's Jerky People is more than just a collection of recipes featuring the dehydrated method of meat preservation called
"jerky". This is a highly recommended compendium which is filled with practical, do-it-yourself "how-to" advice, as well as
a wealth of tips, tricks, and techniques for making all manner of jerky-based cuisine. From preparing dishes featuring wild
catfish jerky, to chicken jerky, to possum jerky, and more, Jerky People is enhanced with black-and-white photographs and
fascinating anecdotes, which make it a first-rate guide for jerky enthusiasts everywhere. Also very highly recommended is
the first book in Mary Bell's series for jerky gourmets, Just Jerky: The Complete Guide To Making It (0965357201; $...).

After a short introduction which gives the purpose of the book, Jane gives kids actual prayers to pray along with scriptures
to memorize. The prayers are listed under various categories: when I am afraid, when I have sinned, etc. Kids who use this
book will also learn (almost instinctively) how to pray scripture. I love these prayers and the scriptural truths they affirm!

This book really got me into reading. I love romance and this book gave it to me. I think that some books make us grow old
but not this one. It let me see romance, humor and use my imagination on some parts. I really liked it and I hope other people
like it as much as I did

Can the Paper Marriage Turn Golden?

Annie Patterson works at Roy's Coffee Shop in Tulsa. She drives a twelve-year-old clunker that is always breaking down and
she is struggling to make ends meet. If she can only keep it together for one more semester, she'll be able to graduate and
be a licensed social worker.
Then out of the blue a handsome stranger named Matt Walker comes into the diner, takes a good look at her and orders scrambled eggs, then adds, "and a wife, would you be interested?" The first thought to strike Annie was that this was the answer to her prayers. She asks a few questions, finds out Matt's ex-wife is an alcoholic and she has custody of his five-year-old daughter Shelby. However, if he has a wife, the courts will give him his daughter. Plus, he offers to pay her. All she has to do is pretend to be married, and, of course, stay with him on his ranch on the backside of nowhere in Montana.
Annie agrees and it looks like Shelby might be home with Matt for the Christmas holidays and that was according to plan, but falling in love with Matt, that wasn't part of the plan at all. So what is going to become of Annie?
"Jingle Bell Bride" was a pleasant read, one that I enjoyed and I think you'll like it too. There weren't many surprises here, but the well written, well crafted story made up for that. I highly recommend this one.

This is a lovely story of two mice who are tired of being bullied by a cat, and so they turn to a neighboring rat, Tonchee,
for help. It is well written and wonderfully illustrated. My 4-year-old enjoys this book a lot.

Before having a baby I wouldn't have guessed that a tag could be so popular, but someone knew what they were doing when they
developed Taggies products. Our 5 month old baby loves his Jingle Bells book, mostly the tag parts of it, but he also shakes
it to hear the bell.

I mean the timorous or carping few who doubt the tendeney of such books as "Jane Eyre": in whose eyes whatever is unusual is wrong; whose ears detect in each protest against bigotry---that talent of crime---an insult to piety, that regent of God on earth....."
[from the book of the preface by Currer Bell, December 21, 1847]
