This book was one of my favorite books as a child. I love the imagination and the moral of this book. I would rank this up with the book "Where the Wild Things Are."

Your kids should thoroughly enjoy this.

This is the story of a young business man who by happenstance gets involved with a destitute young woman in his company, when she keels over from hunger. It sounds a little corny, well maybe it was a little, but it was an interesting book. I enjoyed it! He is just going on a month's leave so volunteers to look after her five year old brother while she gets back her on her feet. This has similiaritis to the Christmas Bride, also by Ms Hill but I liked this one better.

My teenage son and I love this series. I cried at the end of this one! I recommend that you buy this (and the others) hardcover, because they are keepers. Timeless "fairytale" and heartwarming stories to re-read and pass down.

The 1939 and 1994 Editions are NO LONGER AVAILABLE. The 2008 Edition is for Redford Cemetery Only, Mount Hazel has been removed. The 2008 edition is updated with burials through 2007, additional burials added following research, along with additional information on family connections. This book is only available through [...] and not available at any publisher. It is an excellent reference for families living in the area of Wayne County in the early years and remains an active cemetery for descendants of the early pioneers of Redford Twp. Michigan. Burials start at 1832 to present day.

A great resource for kids

If you read (and loved) THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, but found yourself confused about some of the terms, creatures, or metaphors in the book, this book offers helpful information. For example, perhaps you've wondered what Turkish delight is, why Lucy and Susan were called "daughters of Eve," or the difference between a sledge and a sleigh. Beyond that, it is an informative look at C. S. Lewis--his childhood, faith, wartime experiences, and the authors who influenced him (E. Nesbitt, Kenneth Grahame, Beatrix Potter--to name a few). The book contains a logic puzzle, quizzes ("Which Pevensie Are You Most Like?"; a quiz on beavers, "Chillin' Like a Villain Quiz") rainy-day games, Narnia-theme party ideas, and book study questions for reading groups. Most of all, the engaging, somewhat irreverent tone will keep you turning pages. And the picture of the cat dressed as Aslan is hilarious!

My husband and I are taking a trip to Bermuda and my husband was looking for a good book with lots of colorful pictures. I wanted some history as well as good information on things to do. This was my husband's Father's Day gift this year and we are both enjoying the book. It is making us more excited about our upcoming trip.

Excellent guide to Boston for the first timer or the native who wants details for great day trip. Filled with clear and informative maps, fun photos and wonderful descriptions of different areas of Boston and the many surrounding attractions. It contains a terrific history section, practical tips on planning your trip, accomodations, restaurants, shopping and sports info and more and even a list of good books about Boston. The book is scattered with helpful tips and recommendations to enhance your visit. A very attractive book, it's size (about 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and about 3/4 inch think) makes it easy to carry around and substantial enough to save as a great souvenir of your trip. I work at a Global Training Center and we use this book consistently to help our visitors plan their sightseeing. I highly recommeded this guide.

On planning a trip to Ireland (return trip for me, first trip for my kids) I wanted to dig up as much info as possible.
With so little time (and money) I wanted the most of what I had!!
After securing the Eyewitness guides and the Frommers guides, I stumbled upon Insights and was so impressed!!
It not only was a guide, but a reading book as well.
The pictures by far are the best!!
Looking through it makes me want to be there on my trip, NOW!
Let's just say, I HAVE to own this one!!
It's costly, more than the others, but well worth putting into your collection!
Slante'
