This book from Wild Goose Publicatons picks some of the very best of Celtic Chriatian Spirituality for Advent and Christmas.
It includes short readings suitable for Advent candle lighting, Short plays, music, (that is easy to sing!) lovely meditation
and reflection material that many people today relate too. I highly reccoment this book. It uses images of GOd that are refreshing
and soul searching.

A Good Text Gets Even Better!

Review Date: 2008-10-12
Review Date: 2008-10-12
By revising and republishing this text, the Cistercian Studies series has done a great favor for those who need a solid yet
understandable introductory text. It it used in all of the introductory theology courses as Spring Hill College, and students
usually admit that the chapters are interesting and easily digested. The style is predominantly narrative, and periods of
great theological consternation are highlighted with accounts of interpersonal conflict and even a touch of intrigue (a la
Nestorius vs Cyprian). David Bell does a good job of maintaining objectivity in these debates, opening the murky world of
what we would now call "heterodoxy," but which earlier antagonists referred to as nothing short of "heresy." Entering the
details with enough depth to preserve accuracy yet still maintaining the level of an introductory text, the author demonstrates
that all theological fighting is not necessarily fair, nor is it always accurately remembered. It is, after all, questionable
whether Nestorius was actually a Nestorian. And the Arianism of Arius didn't always match the Arianism of the Arians! From
this text your students will get a richer understanding of the historical, social, and theologial process by way of which
the great Christian doctrines emerged. A brief caveat: if you're in search of detailed footnotes to assist you in deeper
research, this is not the text you need. Bell avoids footnotes in order to keep the chapters "short and sweet." That's why
I prefer it for an introductory course on Christian theology. It's best understood as a starting point, but for the college
freshman or freshlady, it's a great place to begin. It's also a terrific text for clergy or religious educators who wish
to introduce the topic of doctrinal development to the good folks in the pews. I recommend it often to friends who work in
pastoral or educational settings and they have confirmed my positive opinion of the text.

The best book on a US WW2 aircraft company

You can tell that this book has been a labour of love for the author Birch Matthews, and tells the history of the Bell aircraft
company during WW2. It is probably the best source of information on Bells important P39 and P63 aircraft, but also covers
the history of a then small company at the end of the depression, and the build up to the huge stains of producing thousands
of aircraft during the war. It also covers all of the WW2 Bell experemental aircraft and the development and production of
the P39 and P63 over this period, as well as overseas users of its fighter aircraft, such as the RAF, Red Air Force and
the French. Published by Schiffer publishing, this like all of their books, are of high printing quality and good value for
the price.

College-level collections strong in entomological references will find an invaluable detail to COCKROACHES, a review of the
approximately 4,000 species within the suborder Blattaria. Chapters explore the history and behavior of cockroaches, describing
their colors, shapes, diet, reproduction habits and more, and including analysis of the ecology and evolution of the species.
Over 100 illustrations and an expanded glossary enhance a coverage packed with charts and black and white illustrations, making
COCKROACHES a specialty pick well suited for any collection delving into insect natural history.

I was thrilled to see this collection because "Between Friends" is one of my absolute favorites. I've become so involved
with the characters' lives over the years because they portray such real-life situations and contend with the same issues
my friends and I face on a daily basis. I loved it when Susan and Harv adopted their daughter, Emma. This book includes
the series where Susan meets Emma's biological mother in the park unexpectedly. The strips are so funny but still manage
to bring tears to my eyes at times. This is a wonderful, insightful, funny strip that gives a true-to-life look at contemporary
women.

As a bell collector I found this book to be very informative and helpful in identification of bells. I'm pleased that it
also had a price guide included, although I don't agree with some of her prices as I've seen many items sell for higher amounts
than she indicates. Since prices are always subject to change regarding collectibles,to me the important aspect of this book
is the identification of bells, and that was wonderful.

James David Davis did an excellent job of putting together information for the novelty phone collector. Great pictures along
with clear, concise information make this book a must-have for anyone who collects novelty phones. I refer to this book almost
daily! It's very well thought out, with different chapters and categories which make it extremely easy to use and reference.
It covers not only working phones, but also phone collectibles, such as miniatures, and toy phones as well. With the limited
amount of reference books out there geared toward the novelty phone collector, it is very refreshing to not only have this
book available, but also have it written by someone who is himself a novelty phone enthusiast. I am looking forward to his
next book.
