Overall, this book is pretty weak. It has many full color pictures of the town PMB came from that has her gallery, all of which are pretty dull. It only has about 10 actual pictures of her paintings. If you really, really like her work and absolutely can't find any other book of her work (which are really hard to find)then this might be worthwhile. Overall, I don't think it was worth the $25 I paid for it.

I purchased this book think it was a true "how to" book. It doesn't appear to be. I say that because I returned the "book" because it was not really a book. It was a package with an un-constructed modular telephone within it's box. Inside the box was a booklet. According to the outside of the box, it is more of a learn how to put the speaker here, and the mouthpiece here. It does not explain the splitting of the signal, nor does it seem to provide you with a how to make your own speaker with a paper towel tube. I sent it back un-opened. So sad.

I purchased this book because I thought it would be an interesting/entertaining thing to have around, yet I am terribly glad that I did not pay full price for it. I immediately found that it leaves a lot to be desired and is poorly edited (it includes typos, a few missing illustrations, etc.). The cross-references are OK. Additionally, anything in this book is available to you on the internet - and in much greater detail. It is likely that Wikipedia will give you more help.
Its only consolation is that it can be used as a suitable jumping-off point if one feels the need to jump off of nowhere. If you have a topic in mind that you want to research, just go to the internet, or to your library. If you want to simply peruse, magazine-style, it works.

There are moments here of poetry at its fines. and there are moments of the self-absorption so common to modern poetry, and that's too bad. The poet is clearly better than she shows here.

This book is very innovative in the sense that some concepts taken for granted are challenged. For instance, even if the consumer behaves irrationally, the demand tends to be negatively inclined, because the resources are scarce. Sometimes, the book gets very difficult, and the reader has to derive some equations. It is very interesting the presentation of the creative theory of allocation of time. The book does not argue General Equilibrium, but it has an extensive and non usual discussion about human capital. Also, note that this is not a subject usually covered in introductory books. Finally, it should be pointed out that some exercises are really hard, although they are not mathematically demanding. I do not recommend this book for beginners, but for those who wish to deepen his knowledge about microeconomics.

This book covers two programming tools for the Palm; one is HotPaw Basic the other CASL. These are OK; but if you want to write simple useful programs I would recommend PocketC and get the book "Palm Programming for the Absolute Beginner" by Andy Harris. With PocketC you can write programs of reasonable complexity.

If however you are wanting to write complex programs, you have to get "Palm OS Programming: The Developers' Guide 2nd ed" by Neil Rhodes and Julie McKeehan, it is excellent. And I suggest using GCC C/C++ or CodeWarrior if you can spare the dollars.

As the head coach of a junior high fastpitch and also a 14U travel team, I stress the mental aspect of the game, which is believed to be 90% of the game. This book is particularly helpful for travel teams that play numerous tournaments each season. Having your players in top physical and mental condition, whether it is the first game at 8:00am on Saturday morning to the fourth game of the same day at 8:00pm,this book covers how to prepare teams to endure that kind of schedule. Energy utilization, positive thinking, and overall conditioning are addressed, while incorporating softball specific drills to bring out the best in players. I gave this three stars because it applies more to high school and college age girls playing on travel and elite teams.

This is not truly a review (I had to give a rate because it is compulsory when submitting a review to Amazon), since for following this book one would require all the materials needed to perform the practical "labs" in what it is divided. Particularly, the book should be shipped along with a CD including files and data necessary for the "labs". The book mentions that a CD is distributed with it, but in fact this CD was not sent. I contacted the publishers but had no answer. One of the authors very swiftly and kindly answered to my request and he promptly told the publishers about the problem. Apparently the CD should be shipped soon, although I have not heard yet from the publishers.
This comment is just to tell people to wait and buy the book only when it is announced to have a companion CD.

I was required to read this book for my American Lit class in college, and though I had heard that James was a bit verbose and that the plot of the novel was purportedly about the life of a telegraph-girl, I nevertheless enjoyed it thoroughly. The novel centers on a young girl who works at the sounding board of an English store. Because she is the main operator, she is privy to all of the customer's private affairs, for she transcribes all of their personal notes. Some of her insights regarding relationships and the often-intimate details of her state of mind seemed to articulate some of my own thoughts. The "hook" of the plot(as concern other female-heroines of her time) revolves around her intense fatuation with a male customer, with whom she eventually falls in love. "In the Cage" is taut, well-written, and eerily similar to the trials and tribulations of everyday life in the present era.

This wasnt what I thought it was, a somewhat slanted view that I didnt really like.
