I saw this book and I bought it. It is a really comprensive guide and it worth the money spent. It also includes features for Palm Zire 31 and beyond users. I suggest that you get this book if you have an Palm OS power device. It not recommended for those that own a Pocket PC device because it is not compatible with this book. Also try the Quick Start Visual Guide for the Palm OS by Jeff Carlson for a more detailed guide on how to use certain features and more!

I HIGHLY recommend Life of Our Language for anyone interested in Guatemala, language and/or anthropology.

The book profiles three Kaqchikel villages in the Highlands of Guatemala, including San Marcos La Laguna, on the shores of lovely Lake Atitlan. Having significant experience in San Marcos, I found the historical background of this captivating village very critical to understanding the Mayan people in this community. The authors discuss the historical background of the three Kaqchikel speaking villages, providing great insight to the culture and make-up of the community members.

Well documented and researched, the authors capture the significance of the Mayan language and the importance of maintaining the Mayan languages for the identity of the Mayan people.

Parents and kids will want to read together Like A Pro, a compendium of prowess which covers everything from skipping a stone to changing a bike tire and surfing the internet. From making an effective paper airplane to employing 'green' techniques in the home, tips offer plenty of ideas on improving life and having fun.

This is a very well written and researched book about questions as who was Kaspar Hauser or St. Germain. All the infoprmation of this book is clear and categorical abaout this type of topics (others include are the person who supposed was the survived Delfin (son of Luis XV)

I suggest strongly read this book to all the people interested in historical enigmas

The author shared deeply from his heart. He was an obviously bright and talented young man drawn into the gay lifestyle. The sacrificial love and concern of his wonderful family will inspire any family who is facing a severe illness in a loved one.

Anxiety and pain control is a hot topic in dental circles these days. Many dentists have started sedating anxious patients in their practice with oral benzodiazepines. According to the ADA, as many as one out of 4 patients avoid the dentist out of fear, so the needs for sedation dentistry are considerable.

I took one of the oral sedation programs and implemented it into my practice with mixed success. I knew some patients needed more sedation. At other times, I wanted more control over the sedation situation. I enrolled in the program in Dayton, and this was the textbook for the program. The program was intense, and we covered most of the book. It has excellent chapters on local anesthesia and pharmacology that are must reads for every practicing dentist. The patieint monitoring and medical emergency procedure sections are very good. The authors cover the advantages and disadvantages of sedation options very well, and the reader will have a thorough understanding.

Would I recommend implementing oral sedation into your practice after studying this text? No. I would urge you to take a class or two in order to provide it in a SAFE manner. This is an excellent work by the leaders in the field and I consider it an important part of my professional library.

MIRACLE is a specialty book for a special audience. It's the story of the building of the nation's performing arts center in Washington D.C., from President Eisenhower's signing of the Sept. 2, 1958 legislation authorizing a national cultural center to its opening in 1971. It's a story of trial and triumph, of bitter controversy and rivalry, of failure and success.

In 1789 George Washington directed Pierre L'Enfant to design the Federal City as "a cultural and civic center of the United States." National civic matters dominated immediately but culture lagged behind. (Not a new state of affairs!) As distinctive American music, theater and dance developed, however, the need for a national performance hall became more and more obvious and slowly gained recognition.

In the years between 1958 and 1971, General Counsel Ralph Becker was intimately involved in the development of the center. This is his story as well as the center's, for he was not only instrumental in helping solve the problems but his influence and leadership provided a guiding light for the project, which often floundered on the shoals of bureaucracy, tossed on the storms of red tape.

From the beginning there was opposition, sometimes quite powerful, to building a national culture center. Many argued that government had no business dabbling in the arts. Even supporters disagreed among themselves. There were arguments and disputes among builders, politicians, developers and civic leaders. Some didn't like the site on the Potomac, some objected to the design, others objected to the materials and still others argued about the cost. That bugaboo of progress, funding, stood on its back legs and roared.

Presidents formed committees and commissions. Congressmen wrote bills. Senators debated, citizens lobbied. Just about the only thing about the center that everyone agreed on was the name. After November 22, 1963, everyone who was anyone agreed that the name should be changed from the National Cultural Center for the Arts to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Black and white photographs grace these pages. There are pictures of the building under construction and photos of the pols and performers who've graced the grand occasions at the Center since First Night.

If you love the hall as much as I (and it's SO much more than a performance hall) you'll find this an absorbing story. Some of the facts and figures are a little dry but it's a testimony to the persistence and dedication of those who were determined to make it happen.

If you're not familiar with the center, you will be after you read this book. After all, it's yours.

Mugambi's Journey is a great children's book. The real magic however, is in the illustrations. The artistry of Mark Clapsadle brings the story to life with a realism that is seldom found in children's publications. The vibrant colors and expansive vistas bring the reader into Mugambi's world and make it a pleasure to follow along in the journey. It can safely be said that this is more than a children's book; it is an artistic masterpiece.

Move over, other books on Therapeutic culture! There's a new king in town... although that king is a woman... and she resents being called a "king." Anyway, from chapters on Therapeutic Culture to chapters on Therapeutic Culture in America, this book has it all! Plus, it has a dust-jacket.

...They call Elvis the "King of Rock n' Roll," but they call Dana Becker the "Queen of Bustin' Empowerment-Related Myths." At least, in my house they do, because Dana Becker is my mom. Anyway, as a side-note, even though this book is 400 pages long -- and even though I suggested many sexier altenative titles for this book, such "Empowerment!" or "Empowerment! Empowerment! Empowerment!" -- there apparently wasn't enough room to thank me personally in the "Acknowledgements" page. What up with that, mom? Well... at least I got a shout-out in her first book.

Anyway, buy this book, cracker! And did I mention the dust jacket?

This tribute to the work of Gary Becker by his students is a great example of how economics can be used to explain areas of social and human behavior outside the traditional purview of substantive economics. I use this book in my introductory political economy class, and although the chapters are sometimes difficult to read, this has become one of my students favorite books.
