I love this book. It is a really good review for everything I have learned thusfar, and it has great surgery information!

I found Faith on Fire to be very inspiring. It has deepened my relationship with myself and God. It's comforting to know that whatever I may go through, I am never alone. I would highly recommend this book.

After having Father Becker as a teacher and talking with him extensively about the book, I read it and am I glad that I did. What a GREAT book!! Such realism and incredible attention to detail.

In THE FEAR OF CAMERAS, the multi-talented Therese Becker juxtaposes her own photographs and poems to enact Octavio Paz's epigraph, "The heart is an eye." Becker creates a dynamic between what is seen in the photographs and what is heard in the poetry, a voice of passionate engagement with the world, of compassionate concern for it. For example, in "Above the White Sheet," Becker describes a haunting scene of "seven shrouded little sleepers," "my grandson's small features scattered/ across the faces of seven toddlers/ lying side by side like/ day-old fish no one will buy./" But Becker's poetry of witness is not afraid of whimsy, nor of embracing an overarcing sense of wholeness as, in the final poem, she melds the voice of poet and photographer to reassure us "everything you believe/ has brought you this far./" And to remind us it is the challenge of every artist to capture the intangible, the illusive, chambers in "those rooms/ you've been furnishing forever,/ those tight corridors in the heart./"

I love this book. It is full of wonderful, uplifting, funny stories that take us from the time Bernice was in her mom's womb until her funny senior days at Reed's Landing. Every story has something in common with all of us. Who hasn't been embarrassed? Who hasn't been dying to eat a delicious meal? Who hasn't been suddenly frightened or felt like a klutz? We all have! And yet Bernice Becker's stories make each adventure unique to her at the same time. After all, I've been scared but I never swallowed a fly or thought I was shot at the movies!

This is great reading for all of us. You can be 12 or 90 and get a kick out of these stories! The fact that Bernice is turning 85 only increases the fun and the sense for all of us that it is never too late!

Great story about how a young teenage girl handles changes in her life over which she has little control. A real example of how a positive attitude can help anyone of any age cope with difficulties. Also portrays a touching relationship between grandmother and granddaughter, and the passing down of wisdom. The writing is vibrant and brings the reader into the story so one really cares about the characters. Highly recommended!

Focus on Crystals is quite simply the best crystal book I have read. Covering a wide range of crystal healing techniques and therapies in great depth, easily understandable to both the novice and advanced practicioner alike. Edmunds depth of information is expansive and unlike many such volumes this book contains a very practical aproach to all aspects of crystal healing. Highly recommended to all people intrested in expanding there awarness of this intresting area
