I loved all the great photos and personal stories that accompanied wonderful traditional Southern recipes. Its much more than just a cookbook. The stories about Elvis were touching, and as a huge Elvis fan, and lover of food and eating, this will keep me in the kitchen for months to come. Elvis' favorite cornbread recipe is now one of my favorites. I highly recommend this book for Elvis lovers around the world.

This book it is if you want to try Elvis Food.

If you want to eat some food that Elvis Presley enjoyed in his 42 years of life, then I'm sute this is the cookbook you would want to have in your kitchen or wherever you keep your cookbooks. If you want to try the famous Peanut Butter & Bannana sandwitch, I'm sure you will find it in here. I don't have the book in front of me. A restaurnt has a recipe for Elvis Presley's favorite pizza. Which I'm not 100% sure if Elvis Presley was a big pizza fan. I think I'm am about 50% sure of Elvis liking pizza. But I am 100% that Elvis Presley loved Peanut butter & Bannanana Sandwitches.

Elvis favorites and mine!

Final Book in a Great Trilogy

Review Date: 2007-10-05
START OF BACK COVER TEXT - Picking up three months after "Retribution" left off, this is the story of how Ice finally makes full restitution for her crimes by agreeing to a plea bargain set up by a secret justice probe. The authorities are out to get the man who's almost twice killed Ice (and who is in possession of some secrets which could topple a state government if he's caught). She only agrees to the plea because if she doesn't, Angel will be incarcerated for harboring a fugitive, and Ice will not let that happen.
- END OF BACK COVER TEXT

The third and final book in the Ice and Angel trilogy, `Restitution' (following `Retribution') is the finale to the endearing story of two tragic characters brought to us by Suzanne Beck.

Ice cuts a deal with the DA to drop the charges against her, get her sentence reduced to time served, and to not press charges against Angel for aiding and abetting if she finds a man named Cavallo and delivers him alive. They catch him in the southwestern desert of the US, but the FBI and other government officials are unwilling to abide by the agreement.

Beck is also the author of `The Growing.' Unfortunately for her fans, she hasn't published much else.

I read the Redemption trilogy several years ago and absolutely fell in love with them. These books have everything, excellent writing, edge of your seat action, and passion so hot you'll burn your fingers turning the pages. I'm still in love with Ice! While each book can stand alone, start with the first one, Redemption. You won't regret it. Like Radclyffe? You'll love Beck after reading these.

Terrific ending to a series

Restitution is the third in a series that Susanne Beck has written about Angel (Tyler Moore) and Ice (Morgan Steele). Angel and Ice met in the first book, Redemption, when they were both in prison; tried to build a life in the second book, Retribution; and try to pick up the pieces in this last book. Ice has been captured by the authorities who are willing to work a deal. If she will use her skills as a former hit woman for the Mafia to bring in the man who originally set her up for the murder that sent her to prison, all of the charges will be dropped against her. If she doesn't agree to this, she will go back to prison and the authorities will prosecute Angel for helping Ice to hide in Canada. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. Retribution is about how Ice goes about this task, trying to keep Angel safe in the meantime. Beck reintroduces several characters from the first book, friends of both women from prison, who come to help Ice with her problem. There is just the right blend of humor, adventure and cliff-hanging to make this book work. Beck once again has created very vivid and realistic characters. Women who want to step out of the pages of the book and actually breathe. Yes, this is another in the long line of Uber Xena books, but these characters have an edginess and strength that is often missing in the other books. And Beck hasn't lost her touch with writing love scenes either. All of these books will definitely keep you "interested". The best part is that they're just plain well written. You'll need to read all three to see the whole story, but you won't regret that.

Every animator and animation fan must own!

If you like to own some really cool prints of Bugs Bunny, Tweety, or just the old folks from the Warner Bros. Studio, this is the book! It goes through the history of the animation studio and its founders. Chuck Jones is similar to Walt Disney, he had his own crew of animation masters to create a whole new perspective of cartoon.
One disappointing about this book is that its published date is 1997. Sadly "The Iron Giant" (released 1999) and "Cats Don't Dance" (1997) did not make it to the book; two of the most successful WB animated feature film. However, it is still a book to own and look for inspiration.

It should be the Warner Brother Ltd. Ed. collectors' bible.

It provides the information about different types of animation art such as production cel, sericel, limited edition. The reader can use this book to check the original prices and edition size of many WB limited edition cels.

This book was an exceptional collection of old and new.

This book was well done and very appealing to the eye and informational to read. It gives the reader some good history of Warner Bros. cartoons and the rarely credited artists. Through-out the book there are pointers on how to draw various characters, but unfortunatly they are not as complete as one might have it. However, the overall is terrific.

make this book a new treasure to me. It's very readable, and it speaks to exactly what interested me -- the personal aspects of Kandinsky's evolution to abstraction. There are LOTS of color plates, and their rendition is excellent.

Kandinsky's Life and Art

This is a marvelous book in two respects. First, the discussion of Kandinsky's life and art is clear, authoritative without intrusive detail, and lively. Second, the color reproductions of Kandinsky's work are well-chosen and expertly reproduced; they are placed in the text in places proximate to the discussion of Kandinsky's changing approaches to art. I found it stunning that the publisher could pack so many color prints into such a compact book at a reasonable price.
Readers interested in Kandinsky's ground-breaking treatise, On the Spiritual in Art, will be grateful for the author's compelling, lucid presentation of its ideas.

A great solo playing learning tool

Review Date: 2007-05-28
I'm an amateur with a few years of on-and-off guitar playing experience. I found that using this book in front of my computer is a very effective way to dramatically improve my electric guitar soloing, while keeping me focused and having fun in the process. No teacher and no strict practicing schedule are necessary.

I started with one of the solos ("25 or 6 to 4", IMHO one of the greatest ever recorded as well as one of the most challenging ones), read about it, then started learning it section by section using the CD. After downloading an update of the the Amazing Slow-Downer (Lite) software [..]

In case you're wondering, the solo covers (by anonymous professional musicians) are very accurate. If you're picky and do a careful comparison with the original you may notice slight differences here and there, but they don't really matter to the learning experience.

The stories behind each solo are fascinating on their own and provide a richer overall experience, as well as something to think about while practicing.

With a wide range of great solos and techniques to pick from, this book can provide many months of fun. For its price, the value is exceptional.

More than just music...

Not only do you get tab and playing instructions for 25 amazing solos - the introductions for each guitarist are fascinating. Chad Johnson's writing style is straightforward and easy to read. He also includes quotes from each artist, photos, and album covers. If you use the CD on a PC or MAC, you can try the 'amazing slow-downer' option which lets you change the tempo to any practice speed. The solos are performed note-for-note with a full band. Johnson's 'How to Play It' sections are extremely helpful.

The book starts out with lots of outdated slang which makes alot of it unreadable and strained. The rest of the book deals with Slim telling bizarre stories about people he must have knew. This book is not like the PIMP book, it seems to be stories that Slim is telling the reader of things he heard. Anyways, it is well worth the read as all of his books are.

Dr. Beck's finest work

Review Date: 2005-07-30
As a student at Texas Lutheran (where Dr. Beck serves as chair of the Theology department), I am very familiar with Dr. Beck both as a scholar and as a person. Of his assorted works on New Testament theology, this one (IMO) is his finest, most insightful book. I read it for his New Testament Studies course, and now as I am doing my New Testament Theology independent study with him, I find myself referencing it in my assignments because of its unique insight into certain passages of Scripture. This work is a worthwhile read for anyone interested in biblical studies. You might not always see eye-to-eye with Dr. Beck (I sure don't), but his knowledge base and sheer depth of sincere conviction merit great respect.

Beck again is decades ahead of the rest of us!

A serious bible scholar does responsible criticism and interpretation of the cryptic biblical material, rather than just looking for the end of the world, Dr. Beck is looking at the text to see what it offers for us. As a student of Dr. Beck, I again say that he is (as he has long been) at least a decade ahead of those around him in so many ways - his understanding of Jewish-Christian relationships, biblical material, and church practices.

The author Rick Beck does an excellent job at capturing the good and bad of humanity. Charcters of the book become alive and you just want to keep learning more. This book is about solving the crime not dwelling on the crime. The book keeps you quessing all the way to the end. I want more stories from Rick Beck.

The author, Rick Beck, clearly knows the setting of this murder mystery set in Washington DC in the '70s. His characters are real and kept me wanting to know more about them. It was fun recognizing places and street names from my visits to DC. Beck also captures some of the social changes that were happening in our country at that time.... I look forward to hearing more about Robert Mann and Toby.

It was AWESOME!!! It was so original, for manga. Most mangas are about some japanese super-hero who falls in love with a girl... blah, blah, blah... or else theyre about teens in school... Wh00t! come on ppl we go to school everyday! Beck, however, showed the life of an average kid, not a, super-hero or a perfect-bodied high-school kid. No, Beck is about the music BEHIND those perfect-bodied people. IT'S ABOUT ROCK AND ROLL!!! WOOHOOO!!!!Watever. i love manga, so im probably prejudice. Beck was great and i cant wait for the second one. YOU'LL LOVE IT!!! in fact im gonna go read it again... hmmm... :)

Beck is a great series

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad is a must read for all Manga or Music lovers. I must warn you though the first 4 or 5 volumes are progress quite slowly but after that the series becomes highly addictive. I pulled an all nighter just to read the first 19 volumes.

The series is still on going in Japan. The 23rd volume will released in Japan in July. Harold Sakuishi is a brilliant storyteller and he throws in tons of real life refrences in the series, like the osbournes in one the pages in the series.

I know Tokyopop did a good job with bringing it over to North America becuase they hired the translator who were doing the scanlations of Beck. For those of you who do not know what scanlation is, It is when people scan the japanese manga and translate it into another language and release it for people to read. I could go on and on about how good the series is but you have to read it in order to believe it.
