OK, maybe it's just because I lived there and now explore caves. This book would be great for anyone else who has traveled
to Papua New Guinea or would like to or anyone who explores caves. Tons of photos and maps and crazy true stories. This book
takes you there. What a rich history!

This slim volume packs an incredible amount of information, both professional and personal, into an astute and revealing study
of its subject. I've waited 25 years for Budd Schulberg to release the second part of his memoirs ("Moving Pictures" was published
in 1981), and so far he hasn't obliged. Since he's now 91 years of age, I hope he doesn't plan to wait much longer. Until
Volume II arrives, this overview of his life and work will sustain his fans nicely. My thanks to Nicholas Beck for saying
so much in those 181 pages.

As a Phd student in sociology, I find this booklet indispensable as a quick and easy reference guide to all the basics of
social science statistical analysis. After going through more complicated texts such as Lewis-Beck's "Applied Regression:
an Introduction" and Berry and Feldman's "Multiple Regression in Practice", I find this small booklet extremely helpful and
clear in its explanations of the logic of basic bivariate and multiple regression analysis, as well as significance testing.
It is quite useful as a tool to review the basic methods of analysis, and I especially like the list of regression assumptions
at the end, all of which we had to memorize and explain for qualifying exams! I would only request a separate section and
more detailed explanation of the Chi-square test, complete with application examples.

EXTREME ADVENTURE IN THE PERUVIAN ANDES...

This is an amazing tale of courage, fortitude, and a desire to live, despite dire circumstances. The author, Joe Simpson and
his climbing partner, Simon Yates, ascend a perilous section of the Peruvian Andes. Near the summit, tragedy strikes when
Joe, up over 19,000 feet, falls and hits a slope at the base of a cliff, breaking his right leg, rupturing his right knee,
and shattering his right heel. Beneath him is a seemingly endless fall to the bottom. Simon reaches him but knows that the
chances for Joe to get off the mountain are virtually non-existent. Yet, they fashion a daring plan to to do just that.
For the next few hours, through a snow storm, they work in tandem, and manage a risky, yet effective way of trying to lower Joe down the mountain. About three thousand feet down, Joe, who is still roped to Simon, drops off an edge, and finds himself now free hanging in space six feet away from an ice wall, unable to reach it with his axe. The edge is over hung about fifteen feet above him. The dark outline of a crevasse lies about a hundred feet directly below him.
Joe couldn't get up, and Simon couldn't get down. In fact, Joe's weight began to pull Simon off the mountain. So, Simon was finally forced to do the only thing he could do under the circumstances. He cut the rope, believing that he was consigning his friend to certain death. Therein lies the tale. What happens next is sure to make one believe in miracles.

"Elliot's Great Big Lift-the-Flap Book" is a flap-book based on the Elliot Moose series. In this book, Elliot and his friends
are helping a group of cubs on a building project. Elliot found a big box of stuff at the library and so he and his friends
decide to make into a clubhouse. They do painting and cutting and make sure to clean up when they're done.
This book is loaded with over sixty fun flaps. Hiding behind them are numbers, shapes, the alphabet and more. So this book teaches a lot of stuff. Overall, this is a wonderful flap book. If there's any one possible criticism, it's that younger readers might find it a bit too busy. There are quite a few flaps.

I included a number of recipes from this book when I recently cooked an 8-course dinner. The recipes are challenging, but
the process for each dish was explained clearly. In the end, the dinner was magnificent. This is a book that will find a
prominent place on the shelf of any gourmand or Francophile.

This volume extends on the last volume. Koyuki tells Maho (rather briefly in my opinion) about what happened on their tour in the U.S. in the anime. Volume 12 of the manga starts to show how BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad got to tour in the U.S., how hard it is for them, and how they met back up with Ryusuke.
This whole manga series is recommended to fans of the anime who want something a little more out of the series they couldn't find in the anime.
