Nicely illustrated version of a whole host of traditional English nursery rhymes.many favourites are here, and no doubt your child will develop their own. Before too long s/he will be reciting them along with you.

We don't have many nursery rhyme books in our collection at home, but this one is a valuable addition.

Excuse the self-promotional 5-star rating. I had to fill that field to submit these comments. I found my book sitting here lonely without a comment and thought I would offer a few words to help out anybody browsing through these pages.

This is not a page-turner book. Rather, it is a handbook designed to help people who believe in lower immigration for the U.S. The book is intended to help such persons so that they can debate or discuss their side of the issue with confidence, credibility and effectiveness -- whether on radio call-in shows, in public forums or just with friends, family or colleagues.

Have you ever heard somebody say that this country cannot reduce immigration because WE ARE A NATION OF IMMIGRANTS?

Or have you heard that we have to keep this level of immigration and the massive U.S. population boom it is causing because OUR ECONOMY WOULD COLLAPSE WITHOUT THIS LEVEL OF IMMIGRATION, or WE HAVE TO HAVE ALL THESE FOREIGN WORKERS BECAUSE THEY DO JOBS AMERICANS WON'T DO?

Well, this book if full of rejoinders to just such claims.

I wrote this book for the national high school debates of 1996. More than 7,000 high schools used this book in preparing the "pro" side of the debate on whether the United States should further restrict immigration.

The book is divided into dozens of sections, each with an argument AGAINST restricting immigration to numbers lower than the current level of around 1 million legal immigrants a year. Legal immigration is running more than four times higher than the less than 250,000 annual average during the first 200 years up to 1976.

Under each one of those arguments for high immigration, I provide multiple rebuttals from some of the country's key experts on economics, the environment, history and ethics, each with citations to published sources.

Congress for years has been charting a course of forced population growth that already has used quadrupled immigration levels to coerce U.S. population from 203 million at the 1st Earth Day in 1970 to nearly 290 million in 2003. Under current immigration policies, our population will hit 404 million in 2050 and 571 million in 2100.

The fertility rate of U.S. natives has been below the 2.1 replacement level since 1972.

Immigration policies are the only reason Americans must live today in a rapidly increasing population.

The President Clinton's Council on Sustainable Development in 1996 pointed out that we can re-chart America's future. We don't have to live with constant sprawl, congestion and destruction of natural habitat, farmland and open spaces. We can choose a more stable future by lowering immigration.

This book answers all the arguments the high-immigration advocates make for why America should not seek to slow and then halt massive population growth.

I hope you find the book as helpful as the thousands of people who have already used it.

standard reference. NOT for highschool students.

This book teaches the basics of projective geometry from an abstract and axiomatic approach. The book claims that any bright highschool student should be able to understand it, but it's more likely that a 3rd year undergraduate math major will have difficulty digesting the book by himself. This is because its axiomatic approach, plus it is written extremely succinctly. If you are going to read this book on your own, some experience with modern math and history of geometry is a good pre-requisite. The book by itself is an excellent work. I believe it is the only modern, strictly axiomatic approach to projective geometry of real plane. This is a standard reference to projective geometers. The software that accompanies the book is of no utility. It is written in 1993 era, requires you to have Mathematica, is not useful, and also because it comes in an early 90s 5.5" floppy disk. (I think it's on mathsource.com) If you want to learn projective geometry with some computer software enhancement, I highly suggest CabriGeometry II or The Geometer's Sketchpad, Cinderella or other similar ones. Note that projective geometry of lower dimensions is essentially theory of conic sections. Anyone who are serious about conics should study projective geometry. Projective Geometry in the 18th century were thought as the top most parent of all geometry and highly exhorted. --Xah Lee

I have been waiting for the release of RED 7 by William Beck. After reading his first Bryson McGann novel, H.A.A.R.P.'S FURY, I was hooked! Beck makes it all too real in this page-turning adventure. The possibilities are frighteningly real as an unbridled Washington, D.C. cabal attempts to take the reins. If you don't buy this you are missing one of the year's best reads!

This book is awesome. It touches women in every area of life. Beverly gives candid details about her own hurts and abuses and the poor choices she made. She also tells us what we should do to overcome these obstacles. I've never read a book that was so "real" and speaks to everyone on every level. I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs to be healed and wants to live for Christ 100%.

Henry Charlton Beck has done historians, folklorists, and folks who love New Jersey a great service with The Roads of Home and the rest of his series of books on old-time New Jersey, told by the folks who lived it. He captures people, places, and events of a New Jersey long since paved over with McMansions and strip malls, in the voices of those who remembered when New Jersey was farms and fields, grand old inns and rustic cabins, old railroads and older canals.

It was a New Jersey that once was, and in the pages of this and Beck's other books, it lives again.

Great Book! I thought the character development was very good and the story line was as interesting and beleivable.

The main character resembled some current musicians that are still recording and performing.
