I love the part in here where the two rats or mice whatever thay are put Tom in the bread and try to turn him into roly poly
pudding for their dinner!
Action, drama, and humor -- one of Potter's best.

My son and I had a delicious thrill when we first read of Tom Kitten's tumble into the rat's nest. Peter Rabbit's encounter
with Farmer McGregor is no comparison to the trial endured by poor Tom Kitten. The first few pages description of Mrs. Tabitha
Twitchit's search through the house for Tom is a bit tedious for young listeners- but the patient are rewarded by the description
of Tom's misadventures and the attempt make him into a "kitten dumpling roly poly pudding." This book, as with others by
Potter, is a marvelous source for toddler quotes: "It is of no consequence"..."We are discovered and interupted..."

This book is a treasure for anyone who loves the work of Miss Potter. There are plenty of pictures from her childrens' books,
plus beautiful nature studies, still lifes, landscapes and more.
WHAT A DELIGHTFUL BOOK TO HAVE! ONE OF THE BEST.

This is probably one of the better, and certainly one of the most comprehensive collections of the art produced by Beatrix
Potter during her life time. The bulk of this work consists of 167 reproductions in color and 73 in monochrome, in addition
to examples of Potter's handwriting in story-letters, manuscript and miniature letters. There is also a collection of photographs
of Hill Top and Sawrey which gives a good look a the setting for Potter's life and her work.
The book is broken down into several distinct sections, starting with her early work, which includes drawings in black and white and in color going back to when she was about nine years old. There is a section on interiors (houses and barns), Houses, village scenes and landscapes, Gardens, Plant Studies and Still Life, microscopic work and fungi drawings, animal studies, imaginary happenings in the animal world, early ideas for illustrated books, and then extensive drawings and water colors of her actual art which she created for her many wonderful books.
The "Appreciation" or introduction by Anne Carroll Moore is quite well done and quite informative. The book is extremely well organized and of high quality. Each work of Potter's is well labeled and dated. All in all, this is a very useful book and an absolute delight to read and own.
This is one you will probably want to own as the material in it is more visual than written and is the kind of book that you will want to gaze at over and over again. WARNING: When you purchase one of these books, BE SURE you find one that does not have pages removed! I have found quite a number of copies in used book stores, and indeed, libraries where some swine has taken a razor and removed page after page. These pages are suitable to frame and hang and I guess people cannot resist. Do be careful when you buy.

Beatrix Potter Decoupage is excellent for parents and children alike who adore the creations of Beatrix Potter. This book
provides all of the information necessary to create lavish nusery accessories from Potter's art by hand. This book made for
the frugal in mind teaches, for example, how to make a decoupaged lamp. I myself wanted to have this beautiful nursery accessory
but could only find Beatrix Potter collections in expensive beautiques. With this book I was able to decorate en entire nursery
for only a fraction of the cost. And knowing about Potter's life and her simplicity, I feel that she would prefer it that
way!

I used this for my first baby, and will get another for my second. This book has all the entries you might want to record
your baby's first years. They have lots of envelopes in the back to save momentos (hospital bracelets, first haircuts, etc)
and because it's a binder, you can get refills and continue to chart your little one's life. Also, the entries are non-sectarian,
so you don't have to skip pages if you don't celebrate specific holidays or events.
Greatest Baby Book - and expandable!

This is the best baby book I've seen - perfect for my first child, I've now ordered a new one for my second. They have every
possible catagory and entry a parent could want. It's a binder and expandable, and I have purchsed the refills when needed.
Also, plenty of envelopes in the back of the book to save the hospital bracelets, first hairclippings, etc.
Note - the book is non-sectarian, which was important to me. I didn't want to have to cross out things like "baby's christening" and other events because we don't celebrate them.

This is a story of Benjamin Bunny little children, who are mostly known as the "Flopsy Bunnies" who went to Mr. McGregor's
rubbish heap and found lots of overgrown lettuces. Astound with their find, they decided to eat their fill but ended up sleeping
soundly after they are full.
Unfortunately for them, they were discovered by Mr. McGregor who puts them in a bag so he could sell them off. Thomasina Tittlemouse comes to the rescue and the bunnies are replace with whatever they could find.
I absolutely love the traditional water-colored illustrations depicted in this the pages of this book. The story itself is a wonderful cute tale for children to enjoy as well. The plot is simple but it attracts the kids when you read it to them, with of course a couple of "gasps" moments in between the pages. Otherwise, I'm sure to put this book in the list of books I love to read to my young kids to.

When Benjamin Bunny and his children, the "Flopsy Bunnies," go to Mr. McGregor's rubbish heap, they are pleasantly surprised
to find it filled with overgrown lettuces. They eat their fill, and then fall asleep. When they are found by Mr. McGregor
and put in a bag, Thomasina Tittlemouse comes to their rescue.
This cute little book is another great example of Beatrix Potter's (1866-1943) work. The story is simple and yet fun, and the watercolor illustrations (also by Ms. Potter) are excellent. Now, at one point the bunnies are caught and Mrs. McGregor says, "I shall skin them and cut off their heads." So, if you are afraid of scaring your little one, you might want to simply not read that line.
Overall, I found this to be a wonderful story, one that I enjoy reading to my little one. We both highly recommend this book!

I'm not sure if my 18-month-old loves this book or if he just loves looking at himself at the end of the book (as he says
baby repeatedly throughout the story in anticipation of the reflective "mirror" at the end of the book). One thing is certain...he
loves to read the book again and again to see that handsome baby at the end. It really is a cute book.

My eight month old daughter LOVES this book. She squeals with delight when we pick it up to read to her. The 'flaps' are
easy for her to turn. Her favorite part has to be the "suprise" at the end. Give a baby a mirror and they're happy for hours.

Our Mother-Daughter bookgroup read this book and everyone fell in love with Beatrix Potter all over again. Our girls are
9 & 10 year olds and it prompted them to pull out their favorite old Potter books and share them with the rest of the group.
But I think Moms appreciated the book more. We made the meal Beatrix ate every day as a child and shared it to bring the
story a little closer to us.
The most delightful read-aloud of all time!

'One of the Boys' tells the story of a woman named Petra and her desire to become 'One of the Boys' - in this case, a member
of an elite force of fighting bakers. Swearing allegiance to a long forgotten flag (Moolavia), Petra joins forces with an
Albanian taskmaster named Raul and they set off across country in a red Volkswagen van in search of the mysterious Rico. I
don't want to give too much away, but the rest of the book is one hell of a roller-coaster ride of double entendre, double
crossing, and a scathing analysis of the Uruguayan "Papurilla" voting system. All in all this book deserves more than 5 stars,
but to quote Petra, "This lousy Amazon will give you malaria or perhaps a death involving Piranha. But it will never -never-
provide the means to escape a ubiquitous "star" rating system!" Buy a copy for at least 3 of your closest friends today!

This is a book that will make you laugh, cry, and cheer for the main character and heroine: Beatrix von Watzdorf. It is Bea's
sensitive determination to understand those around her that brings this book out of the ordinary. A truly remarkable writer
and role model, I applaud her creative and personal writing style and hope she continues to teach the world through her
works. A book of heart, I reccomend it for anybody who has ever dared to wonder about the lives of people outside the confines
of their own environment. Truly astonishing!!!
