comprehensive reminder and study guide, then this is the one. It is worth the money!

I'm surpised by the number of advocates who don't know about these superb volumes. For if you desire to establish all aspects at service connectivity, then you need these LexisNexis materials. Because the first rule of Title 38 advocacy - expect the claim to be denied. However, these manuals will help you build the strongest possible case for your client. There's a two-volume set, though each volume is available seperately. And there's a CD-ROM.
Volume one, 'Federal Veteran's Laws, Rules and Regulations', contains the entire Title 38 USC and CFR, in addition to all the rules of the US Court of Appeals of Veteran's Claims. It includes an excellent index. Volume one is 1,800+ pages.
Volume two, 'Veteran's Benefits Manual', is an exhaustive guide to Title 38 and all processes of review therein. It focuses on the practical knowledge required to provide effective advocacy. The manual is thoroughly annotated throughout. It includes the rules at establishing well-grounded claims, descriptions of benefits for vets and their survivors, correction of military records, definitions, rate charts, forms, examples, checklists, ad infinitum. The manual simply appears exhaustive in knowledge and is excellently indexed. Particular attention is given to PTSD claims management, in addition to claims involving presumptive illnesses and conditions. Volume two is 1,800+ pages.
Also, there's a CD-ROM of these materials available. It includes additions like the M-1, M21-1 and M21-1MR, decisions from the Court for Veteran's Claims, as well as hypertext links. However, I find books easier to use. That's just my personal preference, because it's easier to bookmark an actual book. Putting those plastic tabs all over the computer monitor is just silly.
I suggest you visit LexisNexis on the web to ensure you get the latest year edition. Visit the "Store/Bookstore". Plus they detail their veteran's materials better than I.
Know that I purchased these volumes, in order to pursue my claim against the VA, after AMVETS dropped my case, telling me that I'd "no case". However, I recently prevailed after two appearances before the BVA, my success largely due to these manuals. I also have a paralegal background. And I'd highly recommend these volumes to the veteran who may be subjugated to having to go it alone.

A neat collection of short stories that appeared in McClure's Magazine around 1900. Some characters reappear in different
stories, but the stories are each self-contained. This is the earliest work in which I have found the short-selling quote:
"He who sells what isn't his'n, Must buy it back or go to pris'n (page 173)." If you want to feel the brass Ticky-ticky-ticky-tick
of the ticker then read this book. The first story "The Lady and Her Bonds" appears to have been the inspiration for Lefevre's
novel "Sampson Rosk of Wall Street." If you liked "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator," you will love this book. Don't be
dissuaded by the "out of print" label probably attached to this work - it cn still be found and is worth the search.

I loved this book marking the 200th anniversary of West Point. It's full of beautiful illustrations that set it apart from
most other books of this kind and the writing style made, what some would find a very dry subject, extremely interesting.

From Lymington to New York

Practically the whole of this book was written during the voyage from Lymington to New York. It was not an easy task. I wrote
when we were hove-to and when we lay motionless in a calm. I wrote during the day whenever I had a moment to spare. I wrote
at night during my watch while the yacht sailed herself. I wrote of the events of the day and the thoughts and memories they
brought with them. I wrote of my hopes, my doubts and my fears.
I realize only too well that in some ways I am tempermentally unsuited to the task I undertook. I am too highly strung and have far to vivid an imagination. I detest bad weather as I am wondering all the time how much worse it will get what seamanlike and sensible action I should take. - from book's preface

"What do I read Next" is an excellent resource. Every question I had about genre, its success, and its latest trends were
answered. The authors were incredibly thorough. The 700+ page book is divided by genre, such as Mystery, Romance, etc., then
dissects each genre by category. It defines each subgenre and category. It classifies each text that has been publshed
that year. Next the author analyzes each genre. The latest novels are identified and described. The genre is examined by
category to explore the latest trends, developments, reviews, and other issues concerning romance. I loved this book because
it provided a wealth of information for Final Paper. I would definitely use it again.

We checked this book out of the library for son, who will soon be three years old, and it is now one of his all-time favorite
books. I just dropped into Amazon.com to order him a copy of the book for his very own.
There are almost no words in the book, just enough to help you figure out what's going on. You and your child provide your own story as you turn the pages. My son can tell the whole story himself now and gets very excited as we get closer and closer to the page where the bear appears. He really thinks he's "reading" and asks for this book again and again.

i've read this book a couple of times already and the information i gathered is like GOLD to me .there
is so much knowledge of what life was like in the early years of this country for african-americans .everyone
and their families should have a copy. there are stories of the most courageous and intelligent people to
walk the earth.this book gives a detailed look at life on the plantations, how horrific it was to exist in
certain areas of the country but it also tells just how many white people who gave their lives to prevent
slavery from being a part of history.their are some characters whose lives take on some of the most heart
wrenching situations.their is one in particular that tells about a slave who was torn from her husbands arms
and separated from all family while with child . she was beaten by her master for sneaking to visit her husband
in another part of the plantation . when the baby was born she still was put to the feilds and could only
tend to the baby once a day .she had to leave the baby under a tree. once she found the baby near death
with a serpent near the baby.she nursed the baby back to health .she then found out the master was going
to sell her and the baby off separate. she took off into the night woods along with the baby and the mastiff
that was the masters dog . she went through pure hell in the woods. the old mastiff even fought off some
of the hounds that were dispatched to catch up to her . she made it to a safe house and then onto some
friends house .eventually she made it up north to freedom and her son that almost perished grew up to be
a very productive lawyer and abolishonist.there was one more that was very interesting to me . it was about
a young fair skinned women whom a traveling missionary, passing through that part of the country saw at a
slave auction on the front row . the women reminded him of his own wife at home. eventually he raised some
money and bought her before some unsavory characters could by her and take her who knows where. she was
taken to philadelphia and married into society and no one ever knew except her and the missionary. there
is no earthly reason for the hate that exists between us all on gods green earth .read the book!!! I couln't
put it down until i read the entire book
