Barton and Foy have produced one of the definitive sources on the Easter Uprising of 1916. This is an impartial and well-researched examination of the events and persons associated with this great event in Irish history. I can think of few other books that can rival Barton and Foy's Easter Rising for historical detail and broad scope- two things that are rarely done well together. For the history buff it is readable and interesting; the researcher will be pleased with the footnotes, detailed index and wonderful original testimony from participants that is not often found in the common sources. The authors do not seek to praise heroes, but to examine history- something they do quite well.

Egan Cassidy has lived his life by his own set of rules due to the life he has chosen. Always keeping a safe distance from any entanglements or friendships of any kind. Until the day that he receives a phone call from an old nemesis of his telling him that he has a son. The one time that he had become careless was now going to cost him. Maggie was the woman he could never forget after a most heavenly week with her. He left her side thinking that he would hold her face in his memory until the day he died. But fate had other plans. His nemesis had now kidnapped his son and wanted Maggie and him to come get him. He would do anything for Maggie move heaven and earth if that was necessary, but Egan knew what this mission would mean to him. A battle to the death. A fast pace novel which keeps you on the edge of your seat and touches your heart and unknowingly makes you hold your breath wondering what's next. I have read most of the books in the Protectors series and have loved all of Mrs. Barton's books. I only hope that Mrs. Barton continues the series I have yet to try and get a hold of the earlier books but I'm trying, they are worth the read!

Medical mystery stories

I read these stories some years ago. I found them fascinating. They are essentially medical mystery stories. A patient develops some incredible rare condition which no one has a clue to understanding. Roueche then tells the story of how the medical world goes to work investigating it until they find the answer.
The detailed writing about medical conditions ( Most of the essays were I believe were originally published in 'The New Yorker') was a novelty at the time. It since has become our daily bread with medical mouthpieces multiplying all over the place.
Yet these tales of detection still are fascinating stuff.

Silhouette describes these books as passionate, dramatic and thrilling ... and this title by Beverly Barton delivers on all fronts. You'll want to keep this one to read again!

Description from the book back cover:

Powerfully built and ruggedly handsome, Mitch Hayden walked into Emily Jordan's life and took her senses by storm. The ache in his searing blue gaze matched the loneliness in her soul, and soon the pretty widow had fallen hopelessly in love with a man she barely knew. A man too dangerous to love ... For Mitch hadn't come to Emily's home by chance ... He'd come to atone for the role he'd played in her tragic past. Now he longed to give her the child she wanted, the happiness she deserved. But if Emily discovered who he really was, Mitch would be the last man she could ever love ...

Create a credible Garden Center Business plan
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 5 total.

This book is really a collection of 30 years worth of information about the requirements and costs of starting a Garden Center. I like it because it explains what you need to know about Garden Center financials to build a credible plan that your investors will appreciate. I struggled to find information about Percentages of Goods Mixes and Cost of Goods information for weeks. This thin book gave it too me in 3 minutes. Written for the business person it includes the formula for how it calculates every cost. It clearly explains the meat of strategies and theories of investment, marketing, market forces, personnel, customers, analysis and diversification. Well worth the price, even worth 10 times the prices because it cuts to the chase, in one evening you will learn what it takes to create a Garden Center and make it work.

The best movie EVER! The straight script, I had hoped to stumble onto some dialogue that wound up on the cutting room floor but to no avail. Being interested in screenplay writing I was curious how the Coen's conveyed all of the sight humor into their screen play. If your looking for screen play examples (the how to write a screenplay books are worthless) this has been very helpful to me. Too bad their aren't any story boards to go with it.
