Reading "Golden" took me on an amazing trip back in time to a pivotal point in my life. So many adolescents agonize over "being
different." I know all too well how painful it is to be ostracized by my peers simply for choosing to be true to myself. "Golden"
illustrates this experience brilliantly.

This book made a great deal of sense. We have been on the low fat kick for years and obesity has kept increasing. We eat
more of less satisfying foods. I switched and find that I am far more satisfied and eat less of really good things, because
they are truly more satisfying. It's a good investment in your health.

A great laugh by Barry Crump -the kiwi joker

I have just re-read this book, and it is a good laugh.
Kersey Hooper runs a large sheep and cattle station in the backblocks of New Zealand. He decides he needs a holiday but his old car breaks down 40 miles down the road and he stops in at a motel. He gives the motel owner a hand to get rid of a couple of dangerous old pine trees, fixes his car, then heads back home to tell his mate he's getting married -to the motel owner's daughter.
She's so into the astrology she won't sleep with him until the signs are right -looks like they are never going to be right and his farm is fast going downhill too. In an effort to please her, he's been following her astrological advice on everything from only killing wild pigs between 6 and 10 in the morning to when it's a good time to dock the lambs tails.
This is a good fast read and another classic Crump, I really enjoyed it. I still think his best is "A Good Keen Man", if you can get your hands on a copy -read it!

Good Mourning was a quick read that outlined all the stages of mourning. After going through a period of mourning, this book
really helped me to understand that my feelings were normal and that things were going to get better.
I would highly recommend the book to anyone who has lost a loved one, a job, etc.

It requires faith and a vision from God to effectively use gospel radio. The one speaking into a cold microphone never sees
or hears about most of the results from his radio program. If a person must see responses as he serves the Lord, he probably
will not last long in a radio ministry.
The history of gospel radio is rich with men of vision who overcame great obstacles because of their faith in God. To apprecoate present-day gospel broadcasting, we need to know the history of gospel radio. To know how effective gospel broadcasts can be, we need to know how God is using them to reach the world. This book will help you see both aspects. It will give you a greater appreciation for the gospel broadcasters of the past and for the potential of gospel radio in the future.
This book ably shows that everyone has not put his radio on the shelf, thus ending the day of radio. God is still accomplishing great things through gospel radio. He is using it to penetrate areas where other kinds of witness are not permitted. As one of the mass media, radio is having a vital part in fulfilling the Great Commission.

When I was reading through the book, the love of God poured from the pages, challenged my thinking, tore down my walls and
opened me up to unlimited possibilities. I could not help but think that many lives would be touched, changed and come to
God through this book!

This is a wonderful book of poems written by women while on their trecks westward. None of the authors are poets by profession,
and many seem to have very little formal education, but they are beautifully real and powerful. One of my favorite lines
is "...I reached so high my dress tore, and no one can say I am not a lady" You can almost hear the twang in her voice.
These are the thoughts of pioneer women after a long day of travel, men fed, cattle put to pasture, babies asleep, dust settling.
These are the thoughts that they had while alone and peaceful, perhaps under a tree with moonlight overhead and crickets chirping.
I found this compilation in a small used book store when I was 16, and I have carried it around the world with me as a favorite
item ever since.

Barry does a great job of allowing us, the reader to join him on seven great trips to the mountains. Unlike many an adventurer,
Barry carrys a healthy dose of the naive - he does not come across as a know it all with massive ego. His "stiff upper lip"
and "press on lads" attitude is a pleasure to follow. I hope he will continue to write about his adventures; I look forward
to reading them!!

Flood's book is THE standard book on this, one of the only remaining examples of Ummayid religious architecture and practically
the only intact mosque from the formative years of Islam. The only way it could be improved would be to have a large portfolio
of color illustrations of the mosaic decoration, the work of Byzantine artists brought directly form Constantinople.

STORIES MORE THAN OTHERS, BUT ALMOST ALL GOOD ENOUGH) BUT CREATIVE, SHOW-
