This book highlights Farrow and Ball's impressive palette with representative examples in some of England's finest homes. Historic examples abound. Farrow and Ball is a true testament to old world craftsmanship with paint of superlative quality. I've been a fan of Fine Paints of Europe but have become a champion of Farrow and Ball recently because they offer paints of higher quality at comparable prices, but you get a lot more quantity for your money. FPE sells a Eurogallon (2.5 liters) for a similar price, whatever the hell that is...F&B sells real gallons...they are around 65-70 gallon, but the wow factor is there, once you have it on your wall. Outstanding!

Nancia was a member of one of the High Families. Her future was laid out for her before her birth, education, money, connections would all pave her way into a powerful career. Everything was perfect, except for one very small detail on one little chromosome that lead to a severe, untreatable birth defect that would kill her shortly after birth. Her only hope for survival was to become a shell person, a living brain placed in an artifical shell. Her career path now would be the 'brain' portion of a brain/brawn partner ship traveling the known, and unknown universe.

For her first assignment Nancia was to take a group of other young High Families members also traveling to their first assignments. Nancia was looking forward to spending time with other young people who were like her but quickly became disillusioned. If these were the best the High Families had to offer Nancia began to regret her connections. Once the assignment was completed and Nancia selected her 'brawn' Caleb, she faced a choice, should she tell what she had heard being planned or should she listen to Caleb and respect the privacy of her passengers?

Eventually Nancia's first passengers cross her path again and she discovers that all choices come with consequences, consequences that have so many variables that even a brain ship cannot calculate them.

This is a continuation of the Ship series (THE SHIP WHO SANG) that McCaffery began years before. As always with her work the universe that McCaffery envisions is complete and logically organized. There are references to other characters from other books in this series, and Nancia will herself is referred to in other books, but this story can be enjoyed by itself and would be a good place to sample the series.

This is a wonderful book and after reading it I really want to be involved in my medical healthcare. The guide to good medical care in the back of the book is great when you are finding a doctor or having a procedure done.

I was amazed what this family went through because of human errors that were covered up. Claiming God's promises was the only way they could survive. A MUST READ for everyone. We need to know about malpractice because it can happen to everyone.

If you do the naughty things inside the wall of your house, maybe they are not so naughty. Sam and William are an unlikely "classical" couple: Sam barely thirty and more mature of his age and William fifty and wealthy and sometimes with the need to be a bottom. They are known each other in the right circle of friends and now they lead a realtionship made of "games": every friday they play a different game and who lose has to pay a forfeit. Everything seems to go pretty well but suddenly Billy, the godson of William, come to stay with them for an undefined time. And William, who went away from the boy years before to not give up to the desire, now that Billy has admitted his omosexuality, has no problems to include him in his love and sex life with Sam. But Sam is not sure to be able to manage this situation, he is deeply in love with William and jealously could be a bitter beast.

As in Collared Hearts the authors have managed to decipt two characters, Sam and William, who have all the elements to be an hateful pair, and instead are wonderful, in their kinkness and in their honesty. They do the worst things inside and outside of the bedroom, but given the love between them, they succeed to built a solid relationship.

Billy maybe is the less impressive character: he is young, very young, and so he has not yet a definite behaviour. He is sweet and cute, like a porcelan doll, very southern girl type. But he has not the bad temper of Scarlet O'Hara, the hateful but irrestible type. I like him, but I see him more like a supporting character.

William is very old fascioned type. Rich and snob, with impeccable manners, he really could be a very odious character. But he is always caring for the others, for his boys, and he has this deeply and unexpressed desire of love.

And finally Sam, my preferred. With his total love for William that can't prevent himself to love also Billy, in different way, yes, but still love. With his jealously, that he can frankly admit and maybe of which he is not at all ashamed, jealously in the end is a way to express love.

All those characters are openly and happily involved in kinky and arousing sex "scenes": what do you want more? for a rather short novel (50 pages) Naomi Brooks and Angelia Sparrow have made a wonderful "complete" work.

This is one of the most valuable pediatric resources ever written. While the title suggests that it is written for the prehospital community, the no nonsense approach to pedaitric emergencies has application for anyone caring for children, from EMT to MD. There is something here for everyone to learn.

The book's organized approach begins by highlighting growth & developement and how children respond to an emergency and then builds on that to provide an excellent overview of medicial emergencies and trauma care. The entire book places an emphasis on the continuum of care and the importancet of involving parents in the emegency care of their child.

Well researched and strongly written, this book is appropriate for first time students or professionals who just want to brush up on their pediatrics

This book is regarded as the ultimate reference guide on Southern African butterflies, and not without reason. It contains an excess of 800 plates, covering virtually every species and subspecies of the region. Every family, genus and species are discussed in detail. Easy references between plates and descriptions are an added bonus. It was not intended as a taxanomic work though, and mostly discusses localities where specific specimens have been netted or spotted. The reputation of the authors adds authenticity. It is an absolutely brilliant book; indispensible for any serious lepidopterist or mere enthusiast. The hardcover version even makes for a great coffee table item.

(As the Amazon listing for this book has an incorrect spelling for the author- Should be GARMAN not GARNAB- I am reposting here.)
While this book is framed as a college-level textbook (and I am currently reading it as a certification requirement), it is a lot less daunting than many college textbooks. The chapters are short and manageable, and cover a wide variety of topics, from budgeting to taxes to credit cards to mortgages to retirement plans. The concepts are presented in a straightforward manner and the chapters are peppered with supplementary blurbs and side articles. At the end of each chapter, there is a wide variety of review exercises, and throughout the book you follow the ongoing financial journeys of several theoretical families.
This book should be used as a primer to real life. One warning, some of the material quickly becomes outdated (for example, the tax chapter), so be mindful of this if you don't have the latest edition.

It was a pleasure to read Dr.Friedman's book.He uses in it some modern mathematical concepts("informally")such as bounded symmetric domains, homogeneous balls,Lie groups and algebras, etc for building physical models(special relativity theory, quantum mechanics, electromagnetic theory).
The book is not an easy reading but everything is there for its understanding and the effort is amply rewarded. It seems
that Dr.Friedman delivers on his promise that expirience with concepts such as bounded symmetric domains, homogeneous balls etc. can be beneficial in other areas of research of intrest to a reader.
I highly recommend this book.Dr.Alex Gelman
