Beautifully Printed and Well Researched

Robert W.D. Ball is well known to military history buffs for his carefully researched, beautifully illustrated books and SPRINGFIELD ARMORY: SHOULDER WEAPONS 1795-1968 is no exception. This book surveys the contributions of the Springfield Armory to American freedom from the time of its independence to 1968.

American soldiers carried Springfield rifles for most of this country's history. A veteran himself, Ball understands this and his determination to do justice to this once-great national arsenal and the arms it produced is admirable.

This would make a great companion to Lieutenant Colonel William S. Brophy's classic THE SPRINGFIELD '03 RIFLES. I like Ball's work and am happy to give him five stars and my highest recommendation. This is a great book for anybody interested in firearms, military history, or the Springfield Arsenal and its impact on the history of our country.

This series stars Liz and George Cooper "two people who live together, and like it" This shows would eventually turn into "I Love Lucy" which now airs on Nick At NIte, you will notice that some of the I Love Lucy shows were taken from previous My Vavorite Husband shows.

I am not able to afford the real prints, so I purchased these note cards and plan to frame them all together in a multiple picture frame or perhaps by themselves in some sort of unique wall arrangement. Obviously I am a canine enthusiast and I love Hunecks work.

I recently signed out three children's books from my local library, and my
nearly-three-year-old daughter requested that I read this particular book to her over and over again. Since I returned it to the library, she has asked for it. Therefore I am now purchasing this book. Why this book? I think the story of the ball being apparently abandoned but then taken in by a dog in the end "to keep" is very comforting. Everything that happens in between is simple and sweet, my daughter has memorized much of the story. I haven't become sick of reading it to her either!

A Little Gem

This charming little story engages young minds with a fervor reminiscent of my own recollections of "Where the Wild Things Are" and "The Little Brute Family." A brief, compact little masterpiece, "The Story of Red Rubber Ball" should thrust Ms. Levy into a class of children's authors alongside Maurice Sendak, Lillian Moore, Russell Hoban and Shel Silverstein. The writing is crisp, with no wasted words, and is infused with Ms. Levy's trademark use of alliteration and clever rhyme (never forced). My 3-year old daughter adores this book, and so will any other child lucky enough to have it.

This is an incredible pop-up book. The images are on both sides and the detail is incredible. My 2 year loves finding the young, mischevious, baseball loving bunny on each page, along with all of the wild fans in the stands - including Santa Claus and the sun in addition to a wide arrary of animals. My husband and I have both picked up the book after our son is asleep to further explore the images. A wonderful book!

The Tower by Chris Owen

Jasper is excited. He has got a promotion and a new office. The first morning he is waiting the elevator to his new office when, from the CEO personal elevator come out Mr. Nero, the CEO's personal assistant and quite without words, he takes Jasper up to the 35 five floor, the CEO's floor.

Michael Nero was a 40 years man, handsome and reserved. And really during that lift, he doesn't say much, unless subtly asks about Jasper's personal life. But then a gift, a late night phone, a warm smile in the corridor... all contribute to make Jasper dream about this man and how his name, Mick, will sound on his lips during love.

A short and interested tale, about a office affair with a open question: Jaspet will be like all the other employees, men and women, that in the last 40 years have made that same ride in that elevator?

The story is very short and I can't really have a strong opinion on Jasper and Michael. Michael is a very sober man, very controlled with other people, but not cold. He is warm with Jasper in every public situation, and very hot in the intimacy. Jasper is less sure but not uneasy with Michael, and he can quietly admit his attraction for this man.

Jasper Starr has just gotten a promotion at work. On the first day in his new position he takes an interesting elevator ride and finds himself receiving gifts by Michael Nero....is the man being nice or is he flirting?

Michael is a very private individual. Jasper is more playful and outgoing. Chris Owen writes a mysterious but hot tale of two men meeting at the office. The Tower is a quick fix to any mundane day that needs a pick me up.

Well, I didn't write it, but I can say that my son has "gobbled it up" quite happily. Lotta cute touches in the illustrations, fun gobble-based words to play around with (and make up new ones with the kids), and frankly, it's nice to see turkeys having fun for a change (particularly this time of year!).
