Great book because it has short words and little pictures (icons) woven in between so that the kids can help read the book too. It features 'princess/girlie' stuff like ponies and a castle and tiaras and a heart necklace.
This is a bedtime favorite at our house. Our daughter loves the "My Little Ponies" and this story is about the ponies getting ready for the ball, and about wishes coming true. Isn't that what every little girl wants to read about right before they drift off to sleep?

The words are pretty tame by today's standards, but 40-50 years ago wow! that's what makes this book so much fun to read. You don't have to play the blues to enjoy this book. Just read it to see why "my pencil don't write no more".

Tom has done his homework. He gives a very good historical review of the blues and the men and women who played/sang them. He gives equal treatment to both sexes. As he says,"For every Bo Carter asking for warmth to his "weiner," (Please Warm My Weiner) there is a Maggie Jones inviting all within earshot: "Anyone Here Want to Try My Cabbage?"
My favorites are "Mother Fuyer" and "Crowin' Rooster Blues".
If you are into the blues, this is a "must have" book.

This is the definitive book for public golf in New England. The coupons alone pay for the book at least 10 times over each year. And each year it keeps getting better. The database is accurately maintained and always up to date. Tee times, phone numbers, course ratings, slopes, tips for each course, you name it, it's in this book. I wouldn't think of starting a year of golf in New England without it.

North From The Mountains is the latest in "The Melungeons: History Culture, Ethnicity, and Literature" series from Mercer University Press. This groundbreaking series is the first such to extensively study the Carmel Melungeon settlement since 1950. John Kessler and Donald Ball effectively collaborate to trace the history of the Carmel Melungeon settlement from 1700 onward, and provide the reader with exhaustive firsthand information connecting the Carmel population to the Melungeons and other mixed-blood populations in the Mid-Atlantic region. With documentary evidence and facts gathered from visits to and informants of the Carmel area, North From The Mountains is a highly detailed documentary offering fascinating insight into the lifestyle and relationships of the Carmel community and recommended for students of American history and regional development.

"North from the Mountains" is a splendid read on the incresingly popular subject of Melungeon heritage. This is both an excellently written and exhaustively researched book by meticulous authors. It is a great read on Americana on the first person part of the senior author. Both men are experienced authors of scholarly papers, and their work on this book is the result of their exacting and uncomromising dedication to making as certain as possible that every last word in this book is documentable. I consider it the standard against which I will judge all other books on the subject. The Bibilography will set me off on searches for further material. It is a truly worthy book to add to any library, both personal and collegiate.

I am a trainer/coach and I highly recommend this book to all my clients. It is very descriptive, and the large amount of pictures makes it easy for proper execution of each exercise. It doesn't matter if you are a seasoned athlete or doing your first crunch, this book has something in it for everyone.

My trainer recommended this book to me and it was well worth the purchase. The book was very easy to understand, I have never seen an exercise book with this many pictures! I love how the book is broken down into the different body parts and every exercise is labeled for their difficulty level. Also, I'm glad there was a section at the end with suggested workout routines; with a discussion on how to tailor your needs into your own personalized workout. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was very entertaining. A perfect summer afternoon novel. I really liked Darcy Lou's relationship with her mother. I also liked Lizzie's comments all throughout the book and the introduction and the info about the 'author' were very funny too. I liked this book very much. I would definitly recomend it!!

This book is awesome. It shows that mother's and daughters not only fight but get along too. Although Darcy Lou may seam to have a "perfect" relationship with her mother, the rest of the book is quite solid. It shows that kids aren't the only ones who make mistakes and somethimes the thing you need most is right under your nose. It also shows that you don't have to have lots of money to be absolutly rich. A group of people who care about is worth much more. Unlike money, they'll always be there and they are unreplacable. You must read this sweet little book!

Knight's book, Organized to Last, is one of the best resources for those considering becoming a professional organizer. I recommend organizers-in-training watch the DVD and read the book to glean the most realistic glimpse of what the client-organizer relationship is like and how the job is done, professionally.
On the DVD, detailed methods are presented in an uncomplicated way, then important points are summarized.
Best of all, Knight teaches HOW to organize. Whether organizing yourself or organizing professionally for others, this book and DVD are useful tools in one's organizing toolbox.

I came to read Orobai's Vision from a dream I had had, and curiousity drove me to read it. I'm so glad I did; I began to realize it was much more than just a wonderful and well written story; there seems to be a strong undercurrent of power wound into this imaginative and rich cultural fantasy. A sense of discovery is delivered as well, that seems to radiate from ourselves, our own reality as a whole, and much more. Truly well-worth reading...A gem amongst the stones!

Martin Ball has an innate grasp of the shamanic sacred, and it flows through gloriously in this fictitious series. Aurduin is a land rich with many cultures, perspectives, and insights that collide in a fantastic adventure. Hints of our own native heritage shine through - the primal, the technological, and the divine. A must read!

I was most impressed by Michele Bogart's contribution to this exciting catalog and her expansion of the understanding of American artistic understanding of the city. The pictures in this exhibition highlight some very talented but overlooked artists and counteract the understanding that the city was not a popular artistic subject until the late-nineteenth/early-twentieth century by the American Impressionists like Childe Hassam. Bogart explains with depth and great clarity how these American artists saw and depicted New York in their work. This new tension is a great addition to existing scholarship.

This is a wonderful book by one of the finest American citizens of the 20th Century. From his work in analyzing the effectiveness of bombing campaigns in World War II, through his observations on Stevenson, Kennedy, Johnson, Humphrey, Carter (all of which he knew and served), as well as the opposition (especially Nixon), Ball's observations are essential to anyone who seeks to understand America and the world at mid and late 20th century. Especially telling is his principled opposition to the Vietnam War, and his story - unlike that of McNamara - shines with integrity. He opposed the war, but felt it important to remain in Johnson's cabinet as a lone voice of reason until he could absolutely no longer do so. Would all our leaders be as skilled and principled - and as wonderful writers -as George Ball. This is a wonderful, important and underrated book.
