This edition, ISBN 0-205-49579-6, is the STUDY GUIDE for the textbook and not the actual textbook. The product description and publishing information are silent of this fact. Granted, the study guide is awesome. It's laid out cleanly, is very concise, and is a bargain for the level of help it provides. I just wanted to post this information in order to save someone an erroneous purchase, like the one I accidentally made.

Success Strategies for Adjunct Faculty provides the busy part-timer a perfect combination of insights into today's higher education environment and practical recommendations for improving teaching effectiveness. I found the content focused on today's college students, launching a course successfully, retaining students throughout the term, integrating technology and building a teaching career especially valuable. Although, there are an array of good books on college teaching, this is the best one available for helping part-timers "take their teaching to the next level."

Teaching has always been a tuff profession and when you add a poor principal to the mix, the job can be almost unbearable. Glickman, et al have presented the clinical supervision model in a very earthy, hands-on manner. The examples are true to life and the chapter questions are thought provoking and right on the money. This is one book you will keep when your program is done and I'm sure you will come back to it over and over.

These two sharp short stories stretch the imagination and take us to strange worlds and sinister beings that are all well fleshed and intriguing. Being so short, saying little about each story may be saying too much. I can only say read them yourself and see. You will not want your money back.

Dr. Lue's book, A Survey of Communications Disorders for the Classroom Teacher was an excellent book and resource. I used it for my master's level class, Teaching Written and Spoken Language and it was very useful. In addition, to helping me to better understand language acquisition, I also learned alot about language disorders. Further, the book goes into sufficient detail that it does not presume a certain level of background knowledge needed to successfully use the book. I have added this book to my personal library and would highly recommend it, especially to Special Educators, but a great resource for all educators.

I first encountered this book as an asigned text in graduate school. It was the first book that explained to me (by inference) why so many kids are really ready to drop out of school by fifth grade. Children are concrete learners being taught by abstract methods in primary grades and middle school. Indeed, only about 1/4 of Freshmen in high school are truly capable of abstract reasoning, let alone the younger children. This book is wonderful to help teachers and parents better understand the children in their lives and be of real help to their growing and learning through childhood.
