Anne Books

I bought this book on clearance at the end of this past years Christmas season, and believe me I will make use of it from now on. There are so many really good projects that will make nice, if not excellent gifts. You can make use of it all year long, not just Christmas. All you have to do is change the holiday decorations. This is a must have if you're a crafter.

This book gives some wonderful ideas for homemade Christmas gifts! Each item gives an approximate price breakdown for the cost of the materials. I must admit that I did have a tough time finding the materials for my very first project, but it turned out well! I would definetly recommend this book for anyone who makes homemade gifts or participates in craft shows.

Simple foods from a by gone era that are easy to prepare, and interesting to learn about while cooking. This cookbook gives the average reader a flare for more homespun tastes.

This book includes not only authentic recipes, but the background on the style and variations of many of them.

Mr. Davis has compiled an excellent and beautiful book of the recipes of an anguished time. You will certainly get a taste of the simple foods that so many families relied on when there was little to be had. Whether you are a reenactor or a food history buff, this book will take you into the kitchens of the homes and armies of the Civil War.

I am a huge fan of Anne's work and this book is just another example of her expertise and fantastic writing. A book worth reading, especially for civil war buffs and animal lovers.

If you love history and love dogs this is the perfect book for you. Very entertaining stories. Some I heard before, like Sallie, but there is much in this book I didn't know. The stories are not only about dogs but about specific soldiers, generals and regiments that each dog was attached to. The photos are great. I loved it. I think this is good for adults but also as young as middle school would like it.

I had to buy this book for my pharmacology class. I have been very satisfied with it. It has very detailed explanations, leaving few questions unanswered. The format is great.

I am a hand surgeon with an engineering background. This is a classic text and should be considered fundamental reading for understanding the mechanism of the hand. The concepts are cleverly illustrated and crafted so as to make them readily understandable.

this is a great book for anyone wanting to learn the complicated structure and mechanics of the hand. I use it as a bible when making splints and to understand the mechanical changes that occur in the hand after injury. It is a great resource for hand surgeons, therapists and anyone preparing to take the CHT exam. The pictures are great along with the text. It is a difficult subject that becomes a moderate subject with the use of this book.

Schaef has written many books on the subject of addictive behavior, and I've read most of them. This one puts forth her basic philosophy (which is that dysfunctional, addictive behaviors are part & parcel of our culture) in a slender volume that's easy to pick up & reread. Especially interesting is her theory that co-dependence is encouraged in our schools and churches. She presents her case with lots of examples, and with the kind of passion it would be easy for the unconvinced to laugh at, but I personally think she speaks a truth that many people might find uncomfortable to face.

In a hundred pages Scaef does something truly remarkable. She confronts the self-serving and dangerous side of co-dependency yet maintains a nonjudgmental perspective. Many, many books, of course, discuss the dangers co-dependents present to themselves. This one goes beyond to look at the less comfortable topics of co-dependents' tendency toward manipulation, promotion of disease in others, martyrdom, dishonesty, and pathological self-centeredness. As a professional who grew up in a seriously alcoholic home, I wish that I had read this book years ago to see the pay-off I was getting from organizing my life around the pretense that I was other people's answers. But despite the harsh realities Schaef points out (and simply and compellingly demonstrates), I was left with a sense that I was not being shamed or judged and that I had the freedom to do better. This book takes more character to digest than most books on the subject, and I suspect that its writing took manifestly more character than one assisting people to continue seeing themselves as victims. I recommend it without qualification.

This is a 'must-have' for all coaches, from seasoned veterans to early career professionals.

These tools are summaries of relevant management topics, written in an easy to use format that come very handy for managers, HR deparments and management coaches. The tools provide a quick guidance on how to work with management issues such as "managing remote teams", "stress management", "leadership development" etc. They are easy to use and great when you don't have the time to read heavy literature but need a cheat-cheat. I highly recommend this product for anyone that work with organizational development i.e. development of its people.

Looking for some positive energy and inspiration each morning? Everyone loves to be inspired, right? Anne's enthusiasm is contagious. Your library will be incomplete without this book! Read one passage each day and and you will find yourself pumped up and ready for a great day! So good you may find yourself peeking ahead to see what's coming tomorrow, but don't do it. It will be worth the wait! Even Erma Bombeck would have enjoyed Anne's take on life!
