I have a small group of favorite cookbooks I've kept over the years. I read a new one weekly, but have gleaned them down
to a top ten on my shelf. I just met this book Christmas Day, 2005 at a dinner party, and I practically drooled over each
page. It is now on my top ten list and graces the shelf of my "tried and true" favorites.

Finally! A pragmatic-systematic approach to exploring the truth and intentions of our founding fathers. This book, I hope,
will not be Barry's last. It's well researched and put in an orderly manner for anyone to understand. Barry uses the actual
writings of our founding fathers to show what was meant by the clause "Freedom of Religion...".
It shows just how far off, biased and lazy the Supreme Court has become in understanding the true meaning of our Bill of Rights. I am looking forward to this book showing up on a few programs, hopefully, in the very near future.
It's a must read for those who seek the truth in our current politics.

I was very impressed by the thoughtful research and clear, direct writing. The author gives the historical record surrounding
the First Amendment, which guarantees freedom of religion but limits religion's potentially intrusive aspects. From the title,
I expected a thinly disguised argument for more religion in our public life. I was gratified to see a very complete, well-researched
history of the First Amendment and religious freedom/limitation in general. The author seems to advocate strict construction
of the Constitution, but he gives a straighforward and unbiasesd account of the facts. This issue will be in the news in
the near future, and it's nice to have this objective base for an informed opinion.

This is an exquisite book, but I'm sorry to say, I will NOT pass this one along, like I do so many other books. The quality
is A1 and the copy behind it is compelling and engaging - I feel like I get to know Harry - and he's an interesting guy to
boot. Whether you are a duck hunter or not, you'll cherish this compendium of exceptional images. I'm not a duck hunter and
neither was Harry, believe it or not. So to those of you that aren't hunters, you'll love the landscapes and the waterfowl.
To those of you that are hunters, you'll believe this guy spent as much time as you did in the blinds. Go buy this and put
it on your coffee table - but read it first. You'll probably find that it gets picked up by A LOT of people.
One to look up too!

Wow, awesome artwork and awesome paintings score a perfect 10 of a book. This book is great for anyone that love ducks, art,
or just loves to hunt! The price may be a little high, but it is well worth it when you get this book in your hands. If this
book doesn't make you feel like you are standing in a marsh, well, I feel sorry for ya cause this is a book that should make
you feel that experience (well, at least as close as you can from just looking at a book)! Ok, well, ducks rule!
And so will you if you purchase this book!
Enjoy!

Just as Gord Peteran is no ordinary furniture maker, this is no ordinary 'flip through once, tuck it away on the shelf' book.
Gord's work is rich in symbolism and skilfully crafted, from a wide variety of materials and with many underlying concepts
beyond the inherent functionality of furniture.
This beautiful catalogue of his work, created for his travelling exhibition through the Milwaukee Art Museum, encompasses rough sketches, meticulous renderings, excellent photographs, personal musings, and Potent Quotes - also his fabulous and very funny "Top 10 Shop Rules". The photography of the work is exquisite, offering both overviews, detail shots, and 'in situ' examples, and the many gate-fold layouts allow far larger views of individual pieces that might initially be surmised by the small scale of the book. There are also a wide variety of essays and abstractions regarding his work and its place in the pantheon of Studio Furniture making, as well as observations into each of the individual works featured.
The first edition (2500 units) of the catalogue itself is also a wonderful piece of bookbinders art and design, and features an unusual cover binding, a rich array of papers, and it begs to be explored in in its own right.

Gord Peteran is a fine craftsman with an even finer sense of visual playfulness. Furniture is not usually smile-producing,
but the premier exhibit of his works, Furniture Meets Its Maker, does just that. Massive doors become canvasses and wood scraps
from the workshop floor become tables. Peteran terms his work "furnitural" - a nod to the sculptural element in what he does.
The book is a wonderful thing. The long foldout pages allow the viewer to enjoy the details of his craft and the text reflects the artist's obvious capriciousness. The paper is of a fine quality and adds to the pleasure of this volume.
See the works in person while you can, and get the book to continue the enjoyment.

This is an absolutely delightful story that captures the essence of the common childhood desire to be just like your best
friend. In this book the main character, Abby, not only wishes she had glasses like her friend Rosa but tries on glasses,
imagines goggles to be glasses, and even tries to make them herself but it never quite works out the way she expects. The
book is written in both English and Spanish and is a fun way to introduce children to another language. I Wish I Had Glasses
Like Rosa is highly recommended and wonderfully illustrated. Be sure not to miss the companion book, I Wish I Had Freckles
Like Abby.

It is not that you understand all the conclusions. It is not that you share the same point of view. Pierre Bourdieu, who did
this January 2002, is the philosophical leader of the people, who do not accept everything as served by the media. Read the
recent works of Bourdieu also, and you understand the unrest some people have with today's power sharing in society.
A MUST-READ book to understand "modern" people.

I wish I had known about this book while fighting my way through "Outline of a Theory of Practice". Bourdieu is a compelling
social scientist and his ideas only look better after seeing them dissected and explained in this collection of interviews
and speeches. Like "Power/Knowledge", a collection of interviews, speeches, and other works by Foucault, this work gives
readers a "second chance" to enter an important body of theoretical work. Of course some chapters are more compelling than
others, but the good ones are very good indeed, and I found soemthing useful in just about every one. If I had to pick an
unforgettable passage in this book, it would be where Bourdieu explained why he writes in such a difficult way--it is on purpose!
In sum: this book makes a terribly important but often difficult body of scholarship more accessible.

This book provided me with a comprehensive, step-by step approach to analyze 1.where I was at in my current position and 2.where
I wanted to go with my career. It's a great guide and takes into consideration all aspects of your business and personal
life.
The best thing about this book is the way it's written; with such knowledge and insight about the subject matter. It completely takes away your insecurity and sends you on a journey to make a change in your life for the better.

Job Search Navigator was definitely the most helpful tool I have found in my post-college job hunt. It's up-to-date research
and interview tips were simple and to the point, without being condescending. It's no "Job Hunt for Dummies", rather a guide
for serious seekers who want to make the most of their professional career search. The book even gives a lesson in networking
and prospecting for those who are out of practice (or have never tried!) Cool and very usable!

"Living Free" is a great book. It is the continuing story of "Born Free". Elsa the lioness is now living wild, and she mates
and has cubs of her own.
Elsa, while raising her cubs, keeps in contact with her human friends and the people who raised and released her into the
wild, Joy and
George Adamson. This book tells the story of
Elsa and her cubs through their first year. It is a very good book and I think a lot of people will enjoy reading it and it's
sequals, "Born Free", and "Forever Free"

I totally agree with the author that there is only one thing that will deal with all the religious bigotry, arrogance and
hypocrisy in the world, and stop the conflict and violence that it has wrought.
That one thing is the real God's honest truth -- the eternal, universal truth that is at the core of all religions -- the delivery of which fulfills the prophecies of all religions.
The prophesied message delivered by the messenger for the Spirit of truth will fly in the face of religious false shepherds who claim to be Christians or Jews or Muslims. And it will help their flocks see how and why they have been divided, misinformed, and terribly misguided.
The messenger explains how the prophets Isaiah and Jesus foretold that he would be rejected by his generation, but I gather that he cannot tell us how long that will be. I hope it won't be for too much longer.

I've read Adamson's four previous books, and this not only tells much more about how and why he is the propesied son of man
and messenger for the Spirit of truth. It updates and summarizes the message in a very concise and effective way. I highly
recommend this book. (I got the EBook version, which is only $6.00.)
