Refreshing to read a well written, info packed book on the aura. For too long we have been subjected to abstruce explanations and theories about the aura. Here at last is a readable, informative and practical book that you can use immediately to effect changes in your life.
Most important of all, the exercises work. You can create the inner landscape that produces impressive changes in your life.

This book is great for those who may be new to auras and/or new age thought, and also for those who have a bit of knowledge as well. It gives fantastic excercises about clearing the "stuff" out of your aura and attracting the good to you. It's also written in plain English so that those who may not be familiar with the concept of an aura can pick it up quickly. I rarely write reviews, so this book HAD to be good to inspire me to tell others to get it.

I have read Cynthia Sue Larson's AURA ADVANTAGE more than once. The first time I breezed through it, and the other times, I took my time to really get into the power behind her writings. This "power" is not a magical incantation that conjures up demons from the deep. No, it is the power that is in everyone of us. However, as Ms. Larson points out in her book Aura Advantage, we have to allow ourselves the freedom to recognize our own abilities and to utilize them. I've learned by developing the power of my own aura we can achieve practically anything that we desire. As she so brilliantly explains we can use our aura to maintain good health, achieve personal wealth, protect us when in harms way, and even create a parking space "in front of the door" when the lot is full.
As Ms. Larson points out we are only limited by the limits we place upon ourselves. All I know, I can never keep my copy on the coffee table very long, before I have to use my detective powers that I learned from reading Aura Advantage to track down the culprit that "borrowed" my book.
I look forward to reading any other writings of Cynthia Sue Larson...pardon me, I have to again, go track down my copy of Aura Advantage.

In this second installment of Ted Dekker's action-fantasy series, The Lost Books, all four main characters --- Johnis, Silvie, Billos and Darsal --- are immediately thrust back into active combat after their celebratory evening. Johnis can't get his mind off the fact that the recovered ring signifies that his mother is still alive. But just how is she living? As a slave? Is she a Horde now? Under what conditions will he find her? Obsessed by this newfound knowledge, Johnis and Silvie sneak out of the city, taking their lives into their own hands and following Johnis's heart instead of his head.
Clearly, Johnis wants to rescue his mother, but there is opposition from both inside his ranks and outside. And complications. The power of the book is also another mystery and a compelling one; when someone touches the book after spilling his blood, something otherworldly and intense takes place. But where does this power come from? Is it a tool of Elyon or of Teelah?
After battling their way into the enemy city with the help of a small Horde girl, Johnis and Silvie do find his mother, but they also become victim to a bigger plot and are trapped. Johnis is given an ultimatum --- either agree to help the Horde find and abduct Thomas Hunter, or they will kill both his mother and Silvie. Johnis's heart is wrenched in two as he tries to wriggle his way out of this no-win situation.
Martyn, the Horde general, outlines the entire scheme to Johnis right down to the lies he would tell to lure Thomas into the trap. With more bravado than he feels, Johnis approaches Thomas and sets the ambush. A forest guard warrior turned traitor, Justin of Southern, with whom the Horde knows Thomas cannot resist meeting, is the bait. Johnis spins a story that Thomas is to meet with Justin in Red Valley as soon as possible. The Horde knows Thomas's interest will be piqued and they're right; plying him with lie after lie, Johnis lures the commander into the desert before abandoning him without horse or water. Riding away, convicted and ashamed, Johnis tries to convince himself that he had just acted on behalf of his mother and Silvie. But thoughts of a stunned Thomas stranded without aid won't leave his mind.
Thankfully, despite his many and frequent mistakes, others step in and assist Johnis, offering both real help and needed mercy before the final stage is set. As the "chosen" one, Johnis learns a great deal about following his heart, using his head, and listening to the counsel of his fellow warriors and friends. With lightning speed action, Ted Dekker delivers another energizing tale that will have readers of this series impatient for its next compelling segment. But as they wait, the multi-leveled plot and theological repercussions will keep fans mulling the storyline over and over.

A great read, and quick. Get the whole series, it's that good. You don't have to read prequels first (The Circle Trilogy), and I appreciate that!
But, hey! you will probably want to read them after you're done, (Ted Dekker makes you curious enough) to enhance your understanding of one character, Thomas' prior history. We did! :)

Once again, the plot is fast and intoxicating as Johnis rushes to save those he loves, following his heart against all odds into the very centers of darkness, being forced to trust in the light of Elyon to prevail.
the mission for the books is on in this second book but we finally start to get a more personal and real look at our hero, giving some much needed character development after the first series.
the plot is again exciting and leaves you desperate to get to the end, to know how it ends.
However, there are a few times that it seems circumstances/situations are too easily resolved and though a great, quick read, by the end, I was hoping for something a little more.
I would give it a three for lack of detail in the world and a more complex execution of the plot, but it is tagged for young adult AND i can't deny I raced through the book, enjoying every minute....

Johnis stepped forward and lifted the ring. He recognized it immediately. "My mother's ring!"
"Your mother's?" Silvie asked. 'Michal wanted you to know that the Horde took it?'
But Johnis didn't think that was what Michal had meant by leaving the ring. Sweat beaded on his forehead. "She's alive."
Johnis is a regular 16 year old in a land similar to our own. There are no cars or electricity, and you are permitted to get married at age 16. In this land there are two tribes, the Forest Guards, whom Johnis is a part of, and the Horde. The Horde and the Forest Guards have been in a long war and the Horde believes they can defeat the Forest Guards. Johnis, while watching the tryouts for new recruits is suddenly pushed into the game. Johnis and three other companions were sent on a mission. Their original mission was to find 4 Catalina cacti, but while on the mission he and his companions, Darsal, Billos, and Silvie, run into the Horde. He is saved by a white bat called a roush and he is told he is to find the 6 Lost Books of History, books that are so powerful you will die if you open it. These books are the final hope of defeating the Horde, but he's not the only one searching for the books. Teeleh, an evil bat wants to use the books' power to take over all the land. Johnis is in a race to find the books... (End of book 1)
After he receives 3 books he heads home. He is honored and celebrated as a hero because everyone believes he escaped the Horde. After the celebration he runs into Michal, the roush he ran into earlier. Michal hands him a ring where he finds out that his long lost mother, who was taken prisoner of the Horde, is still alive. Now he has a new mission, to find his mother...
This Fantasy Fiction book teaches one that they should always obey God's laws. Johnis betrayed his people by taking over a hundred forest guards to save his mother. He did not find his mother and killed more than half of them in battle. This book is full of action and suspense, Ted Dekker is an amazing author. Infidel is a great second book in the series; I can't wait until the saga is complete. I believe both teenagers and adults will love this fun and short book, anyone will enjoy this book and I'm sure everyone will love the series.

"Nothing but the Right Thing" is a story of abuse, betrayal and love. Erica, an abused wife of a highly successful attorney Elliot, makes a choice regarding the future that will lead her into a life of re-discovery. She is reunited with a long time friend, Serena in the process, after much deliberation. The two have a relationship like sisters, which stems from their college days. Serena is also the loving wife of a pastor, Micah who is the leader of a large congregation.
The author starts the story with the abuse that Erica endures and the episodes lead her to make decisions regarding the future. Even though the decisions overwhelm Erica, she eventually has to deal with the abuser, Elliot. This is a huge test for Erica that is based on relationships she had with other people in her past.
As the author skillfully develops the story around Erica's life, she also paints a vivid picture of Erica's best friend, Serena. The two friends experience life-changing events, which are mutually exclusive until a single event makes their paths cross. Serena plays a dual role because of her relationship with Erica, the personal struggles that she endures and the evolving state of her husband, Micah.
In the end, all of the friends are brought together and their dynamic relationships add a unique sense of cohesiveness to the story. It also shows how their lives start over again and take a new direction. Through her characters, the author demonstrates how events can change a person's life in ways that are clearly not anticipated.

The first chapter of Nothing But the Right Thing made me so mad, I wasn't sure I would finish reading it. But I stuck with it - and I'm so glad I did. It's one of the best books I've ever read, and it makes me want to go out first thing tomorrow morning and look for a shelter I can help in some way.
The author created real, believable characters and made me care for them. She tackled a very tough issue, and let the characters do the right thing without preaching about it. She shares Jesus through actions, and lets readers see there are other options.
Tremendous.

I initially wrote this book for family and friends and while a good story, I had no idea it would make the best selling list! Sorry for all the errors (I could have used an editor), and on page 261, the first line of the second full paragraph should be moved down to the third line from the bottom...the many monsters, etc.
I am currently writing the second book and trying to nail down an agent as well as a larger publishing company...be patient, its coming!

Very interesting book to read. Not always easy, but idea behind it is pretty clear. In order to create healthy working environment managers have to encourage curiousity and cooperation accross organization. That in turn will generate discovery process that will lead to innovation. More people get included in the process, outcome is teamwork where everyone gets valued and recognized. In such environment, teams become successful and people in general work together better. Relationships are meaningful, throughput greater and overall happiness is inevitable.

This book is a thorough investigation and synthesis of the best thinking on leadership. Judith Glaser's new and fresh perspective helps leaders see how to create leaders, not followers. It should be read by anyone who aspires to or attains a leadership position.

Author Judith E. Glaser has helped numerous organizations large and small to change and deal with challenges. She tells stories about real organizations and managers and how they worked through their challenges. While the stories provide a learning tool, changing organizational beliefs and attitudes isn't quick and easy. Therefore, Glaser — even with her background — can't provide fast solutions to convert an organization from I to WE.
Instead, the author shows the difference between I-thinking and WE-thinking and provides tools for leaders to use while working toward WE-thinking and changing the organization's culture. It takes time, patience, and practice to make a change.
Judith E. Glaser's life turned upside down when she fought and won a battle with cancer. Her husband, president of a pharmaceutical company working on a cure for cancer, worked with the idea of reminding cells how to be normal, which in turn makes them healthy. Her battle, her work, and her husband's work led her to discover that cancer cells and toxic organizations have much in common. "Healthy cells" and "healthy organizations" succeed when they work together as a whole instead of separately.
Creating We consists of three elements for changing organizations from I-thinking to WE-thinking. "Believing WE" is about changing attitudes and beliefs in organizations and how employees should behave. "Learning WE" is about getting rid of old beliefs like the manager is in charge and that employees shouldn't speak up and adapting a healthy exchange of ideas between managers and employees. "Becoming WE" means changing the thinking and responding from I to WE.
The book provides many questions for managers to ask and explore as they go through their "I to WE" journey. Don't expect a speedy and painless adventure as the book covers a lot of material. Adopting "WE" means changing your way of thinking, conversing, and behaving. Companies that transform their cultures from "I" to "WE" experience side effects of innovation, cooperation, open conversations, and overall good health.
Executives and managers who study and reference the book's concepts, questions, and adopt the "WE-centric" thinking and philosophy will help their companies get the most out of every employee and enjoy success.

Author and management consultant Judith E. Glaser helps organizations deal with change and challenges. She describes real companies and managers, and tells stories of how they worked through the issues that confronted them. While her narratives are instructive, albeit peppered with "I" and "WE" jargon, the process of changing organizational beliefs and attitudes isn't quick or easy. Therefore, even Glaser - with her expert background - can't provide any fast ways to convert an organization from "I-centric" attitudes to "WE-centric" attitudes. Instead, she shows the difference between I-thinking and WE-thinking, and provides tools that leaders can use to instill a WE-oriented corporate ethos. Although changing an organization's culture is a matter of great patience, we believe that managers who study this book's concepts will be able to boost their companies' productivity, adaptability and internal cooperation - over time.

Judith has been the catalyst for transformational success for an impressive resume of clients but her writing style clearly reflects the thoughts of a person who has not elevated herself above the common person. I could not put this book down and was compelled to finish reading it over one weekend. To me personally, this is a book about understanding that organizations are made up of people and people are about relationships. Creating WE... reminds us that the language we use shapes our thoughts, feelings, and actions. Judith's message is unmistakably clear:
· "You can't lead until you know yourself."
· "We are all connected through our emotions and our energy."
· "We are all connected through our families, organizations and communities."
· "We are all connected through our beliefs we hold about the world."
· "We are connected at the heart and at the head."
In "Creating WE..." Judith Glaser has given us truth that applies to all phases of life. It is one of the best books I've ever read about leading, and I recommend it as a must read for anyone that aspires to be a transformational leader. Judith takes us on a journey of understanding culture and what it takes to create a healthy culture that transforms an organization from one that is just getting by, to one that thrives and accepts new challenges head on. She tells us, in very simple terms, that the highest potential of any organization is achieved through the nature of the relationships within. She shares some interesting anecdotes, teaches us the steps to take to become WE-centric and finally tells us what to expect as we begin living the life of a WE-Thinking leader. Don't miss this opportunity for personal growth.

This book has many examples of step-by-step drawings. The only drawback might be that there is very little explanation. You learn mainly by copying the examples. It has a great selection of different cool cars and vehicles to draw. Equally good for young teens or adults.

Wisdom for our relationship with horses and indeed our lives

I have so many wonderful things to say about this book and yet none of them do it justice. I've been a rider my entire life, mostly riding dressage, and this book really brought it all together for me. If you want a deeper relationship with your horse, and by that, I mean you really want to put in the mindfulness and discipline to really see what an amazing relationship you can have, then get this book. Now. Mark, with his wonderful story telling ability, takes us through a journey that I think many of us can apply to our own lives. He has so many important things to say. While he can help people with techniques, perhaps his greatest gift is in going farther, deeper, in expressing those concepts that can not only change a person's relationship with his/her horse, but can change his/her life as well.
In our frenetic world, with so many showy horsepeople who don't truly know horses at all, it's good to know that Mark is sharing his wisdom. He is such a gift to horses - and humans - and every person owes it to his or her horse to go out and get this book and really learn from it.

He has a lovely way of sharing information with the reader without it feeling like a text book. I would highly recommend his books to anyone who loves horses and wants to learn more about them.

I was introduced to Mark's works several years ago by a friend who said our lives were very similiar. I have read all of Mark's books and highly recommend them. As I found out, Mark's writing is simple in it's common sense approach for achievement, will more than likely stimulate your memory for pleasurable moments, and put quite a few smiles on your face as you read. You will learn a lot about horses, a lot about life and a major key ingredient for success in both: Patience. Patience breeds success and I doubt there are many, if any, horseman with more patience than Mark. I recommend Kathleen Lindley's book "In the Company of Horses" as well.

Having been a student of Natural Horsemanship, and and avid reader, few trainers have made more sense to me...and my horse...than Mark Rashid. His work is highly approachable, very no-nonsense, and very empowering.
Horsemanship Through Life provided a unique opportunity to see inside a strong transition in Mark's career which occurred when he became a student of another art. Learning how to learn is a respectible, and difficult, process. Giving yourself permission to be a 'beginner' again is not easy in our culture of instant gratification, but this book illustrates how valuable it can truly be.

Author, and Jane Austen scholar Maggie Lane's lushly illustrated and thoroughly delightful volume on Jane Austen's life, times and works is one of my Austen favorites in my library.
I gravitate to this lovely volume on my shelf when I need a quick Austen escape. Its large coffee table format allows for lush color photographs and period illustrations on each page, and author Maggie Lane was cleverly arranged the keynotes into five chapters, representing important aspects of Austen's world; Who was Jane Austen? Daily Life in Jane Austen's England, Society and the Spirit of the Age, The Visual World, and The Immortal Jane Austen. This volume also includes a well written introduction, chronology, helpful index and author's acknowledgments. Here is an example of the first topic in chapter one...
Chapter One: Who is Jane Austen?
The Woman: We learn about Jane Austen's birth, family and home environment that nurtured her genius. Her physical appearance, character and personality are described and exemplified by Lane's thorough research, aptly including insightful quotes from her letters and family reflections.
"Her unusually quick sense of the ridiculous inclined her to play with the trifling commonplaces of everyday life, whether as regarded people or things; but she never played with its serious duties or responsibilities - when she was grave, she was very grave." Anna Austen Lefroy
Inevitably, comparisons of Austen's personality lead to the paring of her attitudes and personality with the characteristics of her own heroines. Even though each of her heroines is highly individual, Lane hints at similarities in the characters of Elizabeth Bennet, Emma Woodhouse and Anne Elliot, and though I agree for the most part, I was amused to see how one can find what they need to suit, by reason and ingenuity.
The chapters are broken down further by topics and continue in chapter one as follows; The Writer, Beliefs and Values, The Letters, The Portraits, Family Background, Home at Steventon, The six brothers, Some female relations, Love and friendship, Family visits, Bath and the West Country, and Return to Hampshire.
Even though Maggie Lane is qualified to write a scholarly treatise, she knows her audience, and her light style is approachable and engaging. She includes enough biographical and historical detail to introduce us to the subject, and not weigh it down with heavy language and minutia. The photographs and illustration have been thoughtfully selected, significant to the topic, and important historically. Her scholarship is exemplary.
This is my favorite Austen book to give as a gift as an introduction to Jane Austen, and as eye candy to the indoctrinated. It has never failed to please, and I hope that we shall see many additional editions for future readers.

This is an enjoyable flip-through for Jane Austen and Regency lovers, but because the format limits the length of any entry, it is a rather abbreviated overview without a lot of depth. Many of the entries had me yearning for more information, especially those items about social mores, society, relationships within the family, etc.

This is a really great book. I'm a fan of Jane Austen and have read all her novels but there were many things in them that I didn't understand because I didn't know the culture, customs and history of that time. Just one small example--Mr. Darcy hands his letter to Elizabeth Bennett instead of mailing it. Apparently unmarried men and women did not correspond with each other unless they were relatives or engaged to be married. Another example--balls and dances were a primary way for unmarried people to meet and socialize and one of the few ways they could talk alone to each other (while on the dance floor). So the balls/dances in Jane Austen's books are much more significant than I realized.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to understand Jane Austen's novels better.

These days many books come along that discuss specific influences on Jane's writing such as poets, other authors, politics and social customs. This book allows a return to the overview of her story. The hard cover book is 8 x 11 in. which makes it easy to be a coffee table presentation or to read in a comfortable upright chair or even in bed (Yes, I do it!) Six well written chapters choronical her life, who she was, what it was like to live in Regency England, the society and spirit of her times, what her country was like, and her influence through the ages especially via her six novels and in the recent movies and television productions. For the old timers who have followed Jane Austen for some time or for the new comers wanting to know more, this is the book for you.

I have read all this author's books and, although I didn't particularly care overmuch for the Sommerfield Trilogy, this one is awesome. I don't really like the Amish books, so that's why I didn't like the Sommerfield Trilogy, although it was good. Just not my cup of tea.
This book is so very good. Watching the dear children go on after losing their parents in a fire and being separated just breaks your heart in two. Especially the young man, who was cruelly treated by foster parents.
Their reunion was the most tender, heart moving thing. This book would make an excellent movie. I'm hoping that the author writes more on this family. She certainly left the door open to further visitations down the road.

Imagine losing your parents in a tragic fire, and having to travel hundreds of miles with other children to meet your new "parents." This is what happened when kids in the 1800s would lose their parents. If you were left as an orphan and had no family to step forward and take custodial and guardianship for you, you would ride aboard an "orphan train." Now, imagine pledging to your mother before she dies that you will do what you can to keep your family together. Maelle Gallagher had her younger brother and sister on the train alongside her, only to reach Missouri and be separated. Each of them has a family treasure which they can use to remember their brother and sister by, but will they ever be able to be a family again?
Each of the family treasures is of sentimental value all its own. Maelle keeps the love letters that their parents had written to each other. Mattie has a picture of the three children with their parents. Even though she is just a toddler, Molly is given the family Bible with the birthdates and full names of the children written inside it. Will these three children ever be able to match up their specific things with their siblings?
They all grow up with their adoptive parents. Maelle is taught a trade of being an on-the-road photographer. She has lost her adoptive father but has inherited his equipment. Mattie is tragically mistreated and can't wait till he grows up so he can leave. Molly is adopted by the Standlers; she is treated lavishly and lives the "rich life" until her adoptive parents died. What will happen when they all end up in the same town? Can they put the pieces back together?
Kim Vogel Sawyer has done an incredible job of writing an inspirational Christian fiction book which has its own line of mystery, history and intrigue all rolled into one volume. "My Heart Remembers" is a book which will pull at your heartstrings. What an incredible love and determination the Gallagher children have in trying to hold on to the hope of ever seeing their siblings again. I had a very difficult time putting this book down. I simply loved it and hope that Kim Vogel Sawyer is writing another book similar to this one again soon. My heart will definitely remember "My Heart Remembers" for a long time

Kim Vogel Sawyer has hit another home run with this latest historical novel. Three orphaned Irish-immigrant children become separated when they are sent to Missouri to be adopted. Maelle, age eight, remembers her father's last words, "Watch the wee ones." But circumstances have ripped her siblings from her sight. Seventeen years later, she still longs to find them. She wonders if she will ever see Mattie and Molly again. Matt remembers he had two sisters, one older and one just a baby. His adopted life has meant a series of temporary homes--some good and some abusive. He hopes to find a new life when he accepts employment as a ranch hand. Molly only remembers her name as Isabelle, the loved daughter of a wealthy family. When her parents die, she is unwilling to accept her brother's story that she was adopted and is the youngest of three orphaned Gallagher children.
With the years, hope of a reunion seems impossible. But whispered prayers and a faith that sustains proves to be greater than the obstacles.
Kim Sawyer has weaved another heart warming story. She has taken a little known piece of history, the Orphan trains that churned their way out West form 1854 to 1929, the desperate solution to find homes for the thousands of children who crowded city orphanages, and brought the plight of thousands alive in the hearts of three unforgettable characters.

Kim Sawyer has done it again. My Heart Remembers is a touching story of a young woman's search for her siblings after they were separated for adoption. Maelle, Mattie, and Molly are three young ones you won't soon forget. Soon after their parents' deaths in a fire, Maelle finds herself taking care of her younger brother and sister. Problem is, with her cut short and wearing only a nightshirt, the authorities mistake her for a boy and call her Michael. When they are loaded onto an orphan train, Maelle believes they are going to be adopted by a family. When that doesn't happen, Maelle manages to give each sibling a token from their real parents. Molly receives the family Bible, and Mattie is given the last picture taken of them as a family. Maelle keeps the letters her father wrote to her mother as a reminder of their love. The story jumps ahead and we see each one grown up and learn what has happened in their lives. Some of it isn't good at all. How they find each other is an amazing tale of love and perseverance and demonstrates how God takes the worst of circumstances and turns them into something wonderful for the three siblings. This is a must read for fans of Kim.

Max Lucado is a premier story teller. The message that Christ knows how we humans feel and that he is close enough to call on whenever we need him is uplifting and comforting.

This is my first Max Lucado book and I loved it! It took me a while to read it because I don't read that often but something made me keep coming back to try and finish it. He made everything so simple and easy to understand. The real life examples were great! I would recommend it to anyone!
