This is an excellent book to remind us that friends are a gift from God. The book gives great illustrations, and really places value on the connection between friends and God. I recieved the book, as a gift, from a very special person; now, I believe everyone should own a copy.

When we are ill it is nice to feel the comfort of knowing we aren't alone.

It is so hard to grab kids attention with all of the things on TV and Video games etc sending wrong messages. These books are great and articulate to children the things that may be hard for parents to get accross.

I do not write well but I have to respond to this book. I read it 17 years ago when I lost my son. I haven't forgotten it. I still have the copy that was given to me then. It is warn, coffee stains, pages bent and the grandmother's piece in this book remains in my mind.

Excellent reading, soothing as it possibly can be at a time like this. This book described the mourning and pain in a gentle way. It expressed hope for healing, confirmed my pain but it really comforted me.

What I must say about this book is it is a great story of a family and the journey the father and his family through the grief of loosing their son. It is a great short story and the quotes are absolutely fantastic.

This beginners reading book is incredible. The artist couple who created this and the three books for older children are wonderfully talented in their writing and especially their artwork. On the west coast their are galleries dedicated to the artwork portrayed in these books, you should not miss out on these books, they are fantastic!

Perhaps we are upset by the stock market, the laid off and the slow-down economy. And of course, the stock option ticked us off because it can't help us to buy a million dollar home and a new Porsche.

OR, perhaps we are not happy about our parent since they cut our allowance and refuse to buy us the new playstation.

If we think we have nothing to thanks for, we must get this book. It is good for teenage, adult and elderly, especially the one who lost money in the stock market, lost confident on the future and lost patient on the current situation.

"Fear sees limits; Gratitude sees possibilities" - page 25. Gratitude therapy can brighten your present and future. I cashed out the pennyworth stock and just get enough money to buy this book. Guess what? This book is by far my best investment of this year. I love the content as well as the layout of this book; brief meaningful text on the left page and creative graphics on the right. I love the excellent illustration. Thank you God for Alley's creative mind and talented drawing skill. A positive attitude with a thankful heart will definitely bring us a promising future. I wish George Bush have read this book.

To have a sense of all that is in nature and the sense of balance, for a full and intelligent appreciation of the natural world, in a single readable volume - this is the book. A great book. I have read this twice in 20 years and expect to read it again, for perspective, and to still learn.

I like the way this book is written. It explains things so clearly to children - Starting with "What is Self-esteem", "Be your own best self", "Your own best friend", "A friend to others", etc. It is written from a Godly point of view but not "preachy". It is a good one to read to your kids and discuss. The whole "Elf-help" book series is really good and so worth getting. My copy is paper-back and about 32 pages (full page pictures every other page - they are cute). It really is a good book.
