This texttbook, that I recently reviewed, was for me a great experience. This is a must have book for any Civil consultant involved in hydraulics. It is both a guide to water modeling and a practical reference to water distribution operation and management. Thanks Haestad Methods.

This reference has given us an edge in satisfying client needs from the simplest capacity study to the most complex model. It has helped make our competent modelers more efficient and the up-and coming modeler function like a pro. Many common questions and problems are anticipated and clearly answered. Because the book so thoroughly covers system management issues, I believe many parts should be required reading for water resources engineers.

I wish I knew of this book's existence years ago. For too many years, I have been using several other reference books to "answer" my never ending questions and doubts on modeling and related subjects.

It even has reference on non-concontinuous flow condition. A great book with lots of "weight." The price was right, too, I received this gem free as a bonus for signing up to attend a wwebcast sponsored by Haestad.

I loved this series in middle school and would highly recommend it as a fun leisure read for children in that age bracket.

The last book of the enchanted forest chronicles, it is as funny. It is a sequel to Calling on Dragons and the end of the story is a happily ever after for a lot of characters and a not so happy ending for others. It is a book that should not be missed.

My daughters often read the four books from the Enchanted Forest series by Patricia C. Wrede. They came across the books a couple years back. They seem to check out the books and audio tapes every couple months. Over the last year I have listened to bits and pieces of the series.

Talking to Dragons is was the first book published, but it is really the fourth in the series. The hero of the story is a 16 year old boy by the name of Daystar. For the first 16 years of his life he lived on the edge of the Enchanted Forest with his mother. Then one day his mother gives him a sword and sends him out into Enchanted Forest. His mother tells him he has a mission, but won't tell him what the mission is.

Fairly quickly Daystar bumps into a fire-witch. They are both in trouble with wizards, and decide to stick together. Daystar was taught to always be polite to dragons. They come across a young dragon. Daystar is very polite and the dragon joins the group. Near the end of the book Daystar finally figures out his mission and helps save the day.

This is a fun book. It moves along well. I stayed up till midnight to finish it. If your children like fantasy, you might have them try this book.

Talking to Dragons is a great book about kings, princes, princesses, dragons, and wizards by Patricia C. Wrede. It takes place in Enchanted Forest. The narrator of the book is the main character, Daystar.
One day Daystar's mom tells him to go on a quest that he knows nothing about. He started out on a quest and meets new creatures and people, some of them become his companions and some his enemies.
His companions, a young fire witch named Shiara and a young dragon, become really good friends with him. They help him on his quest. After a while he started to figure out that the sword his mom gave him was important because everybody wanted it. People called it "The Sword of the Sleeping King." All he knew is that he needed to go through a cave to be where he was supposed to.
At the end he found the Sleeping King and everybody was reunited. I recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy and also a happy ending. I recommend reading the first three books Dealing With Dragons, Searching For Dragons and Calling for Dragons.

All the Enchanted Forest Chronicles are so much fun! Definitely at my top of Harry Potter fan recommendations. They're just such an amusing read; I even teach with them. Don't forget to read "The Frying Pan of Doom."

This is one of my very favorite cookbooks and perhaps the most consistently used. Every recipe I've tried is simple and delicious and a big hit at home and the office. I've taken a number of vegan treats to share with non-vegans and they've all been a huge hit and a pleasant surprise to those who thought vegans were only allowed to eat grass and hay. ;-)

The recipes are easy to follow and most of the ingredients can be found at your neighborhood grocery store. The book is also filled with nutritional information and gorgeous photographs that inspire you to get out the cookie sheet, muffin tins, or springform and get baking!

There are not enough good things to say about this cookbook. We are now known as expert Vegan Bakers among our friends and relatives...and our secret is that we're not! We follow these recipes and everyone loves them! The best things about this cookbook are: the tips and tidbits that are tucked in on the pages and the indices that are very comprehensive. Everyone should have this cookbook!

This is one of my favorite cookbooks. It has made my transition to a vegan diet easier and I refer to it often. Not only is it full of great recipes (and I have tried several), but there are also tons of useful tips throughout the book. Definitely worth the investment!

This book has a lot of great familiar desserts that most people will not know are vegan. It includes one of the easiest and most delicious chocolate cake recipes I've seen, and chocolate chip cookies that are fabulous. A lot of great frosting recipes too that can go with anything and be modified in many ways. This book is essential for vegans who love classic desserts and want to impress their friends.

how delicious! i've been baking out of this book for a few months now, so i can honestly say its recipes are excellent. I've been wowing vegans and non-vegans alike since my first attempt (the fudge) straight through my most recent (the cinnamon coffee cake). In fact, I've had to buy two extra copies because I was getting tired of being asked for the recipes and will give the book instead.

When I first read this book it took me back to Alive by Piers Paul Read & I remembered how special Nando was in the story. I was madly in love with Nando for his common sense and bravery. I still have that original book. Finding Miracle in the Andes was a special surprise because it's HIS story of it all. It is such a good book that I know I'll keep this one forever too, and read it over and over. I read Alive several times and I intend to go back and read it all over again too now. It touches your heart. I was so sad about Susie. Nando's mom too of course, but Susie seemed special to me. It's not surprising that Nando has become a huge success. His wife and daughters are beautiful, as he is. His life has shown that he's an extraordinary person.

An amazing story that I couldn't put down! I was awestruck by the sheer impossibility of anyone surviving. The most striking moment was under the avalanche in which Nando surrendered his life and was ready to die.
Their courage and instincts for survival were amazing. The message I took away is that love can inspire a person to do miraculous things and that God is too distant to rely on or understand. While I myself am a strong Christian, I still enjoyed the story. Finally, the book was well written with inner monologues and background and mixed with just enough detail to keep the story moving along. I highly recommend this book to any adventure/survival story lover, or anyone who wants to ponder the human spirit.

Nando Parrado has wriiten a great book, not only on survival skills, but on the Leadership it took to pull the survivors together to work as a team.

This book takes you on a journey that inspires you to live everyday to the fullest and appreciate what you have.
It's a incredible book and hard to put down once you start reading. I am in awe at the pain and suffering they experienced and how they overcame all the obstacles that were in their way including death. I had listened to the audio book first and then bought the book and read it too, love everything about it.
It is worth your time.

I loved this book so much I lent it to family and friends. Now I can't wait to get it back, so I can read it again. A truly empowering book. Written with such compassion that readers could never be "grossed out" by some of the extremes of survival that are revealed in this book.

What a wonderful title and an intriguing excerpt. I await the completed book to finally find out what happens. Ms Coulter's previous books never disappointed and I'm sure this newest one will be no exception. Please publish it soon. I look forward to a pleasant, relaxing day of reading Precarious.

I am moved by what I've read so far. I am already invested in this young man, and I want to know more, to know how the story progresses and ends.

In her opening words Ms. Coulter presents the reader with a blend of fact, remembrance, and family lore that form the memory of Marcus her protagonist. "He didn't know exactly where he was born. But he's been told..." Ms. Coulter does not tell us what is true and what is not, leaving her reader to reflect on the blurring of the past that confuses and confounds the universal human experience of searching for the truth of one's own life to understand it and perhaps gain some larger knowledge.

Ms. Coulter's prose is sparing. Cliantha, Marcus's mother, wears "a smart houndstooth suit...each piece $11.98 at the twelve-dollar store." This sharp recollection, as though retrieved from a dream, is telling. Like other descriptions it is brief and neat; the reader, however, sees it perfectly and feels that he is there.

The movement, at the end of the chapter, to the voice of the attorney is intriguing. The reader is left eager to continue, to turn the page, and follow the life of young Marcus now perhaps in some difficulty.

Precarious by H. Coulter introduces the story of Marcus and Eliza, first by bringing the reader up to date with Marcus.

Abandoned at birth, found by a stranger, then reclaimed by his mother, Marcus is set up for a life of uncertainty from minutes old. His path over the next few years is tied in with his child-like mother who's fantasy of a better existence for them isn't met with reality. By the time Marcus is nine-years-old he is in the 'system' surrounded by temporary siblings, care-takers, and case workers. His secret hope is that his mom is finally coming to get him (now that she's broken up with her latest boyfriend), but for the reader with any knowledge of those who end up in the foster system for a long term, they are often in for the long haul.

All of this early tale is told to us by Eliza Couvillion, we come to realize, as the excerpt wraps up with her brief introduction.

The characters presented are sympathetic and evoke sentiments of concern and pity. As the reader, I began to share in Marcus's cling to hope--hope that his life will at least improve with a twist of fate.

The writing is engaging and the story well paced. While it isn't necessarily the type of tale that would jump out at me to read, once I got going, I was interested in seeing how it played out.

Hope Coulter's excerpt, Precarious, is a rich and vivid beginning to what is no doubt an exceptional novel: with such a strong opening - an invitation to continue - how could it not be so. The images painted in these first few pages are captivating: the red plastic shopping cart at Target, "Swiggins" wig askew, the trip to the grocery store to browse for a meal when there wasn't enough money to buy one.... These are images I can see as if they'd happened in my own life, with depth and clarity, and in three dimensions.

But the sensory delights don't stop there: like a tune you find yourself humming as you drive down the road, I've got the sounds of Precarious speaking to me, reminding me there's lots more to read. The songs of Cliantha, with the percussion of her shoes as accompaniment, the cars speeding down the 'short' street, then what I know is a high-pitched, annoyed, jerky sound of reverse gears of impatient drivers foiled in a short-cut, the toilet that runs when you don't jiggle the handle.... I know these sounds, and they draw me further into the story. The voices are clear and right on target, "honey I look good," and the kids talking about the 'retard' bus, and the way the kids in the foster house talk to each other about waiting for the phone. The language is superb - I can hear this book and all its characters.

The smells and feelings Hope Coulter evokes are further evidence of a gifted southern storyteller in the finest tradition. Cliantha's perfume 'unspooling' through the rooms, the smell of coffee dripping in the morning, and the pangs of hunger Marcus struggles to cope with are deftly and delicately described.

So many images that keep popping up in my mind, making me wonder if I've forgotten something, only to realize that I've forgotten to read the rest of the novel. The tones of the voice of a familiar and rich storyteller call the reader back for more. Ms. Coulter's skill as a writer puts her readers at ease that she will spin this yarn in the finest fashion. And like the smell of coffee dripping in the morning awakens my appetite for a steaming cup and the day before me, my senses are stirred by Hope Coulter's delicious excerpt. I need answers to so many questions this taste provides. I very much hope this novel will be published soon.

I can only say I was able to read up to page 24 (and since it began on page 7) that's not saying much. Before writing this review, I went online with the publishing company of the above title and discovered it's one of those companies that individuals pay to publish their so-called books. So that explained to me the total lack of editing and this is one author who really needed a great editor....one who can correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure etc etc etc....

Maybe I'm too fussy, but I love the English language and it doesn't always need to be correct, but it should be readable. When I got to the word "cry's", I nearly lost it.

So perhaps this is a 5 star book somewhere along the way and I will [happily] say I couldn't get into it....maybe there was a great plot hidden somewhere between the covers, but honestly, who cares? I will, however, tell this author that I think if she's brave enough to attempt another book, to take some courses in writing and English Lit.

On the back cover, it states that Nadine has been an avid reader since childhood....I'm frightened to think of the books she's read and can only
advise that she find herself an editor who can help her.

A great mystery. Author sure knows the twists and turns to produce a marvelous read.

Quiet, He Might Hear has a can't miss formula for a first class mystery. The story begins in a sleepy little town located in Ohio. Rick Young has committed an unspeakable crime. During a heated argument with his wife he has killed her. He is now on the run from the law, but appears to know exactly where he is headed. That brings us to Laura Hampton, she is the beautiful wife of the wealthy Dr. Johathan Hampton. Laura hears about the manhunt for her ex-boyfriend Rick and fears he may come after her. Laura has kept a bundle of secrets about her past from her husband. Then the murders begin happening to those close around her. Laura fears Rick is back in town and destroying everything around her. This mystery is superb. A must read. It's like a movie in a paperback!

From the Qumran Caves in 1947 to the boarding of the flight on 9/11 it is filled with an ever drawing you in intrigue with every passing page! It is a "Fictional Reality" in that much is fiction, but in fact could be a believable reality. I have read quite a few books on UFO's, and seen many documentaries on the things talked about in this book. Given where the world sets poised in prophecy right now it is a must read. The author has been given a gift from God on his ability to write about what is an actual reality combined with what could or may be happening behind the scenes in darkness. Terry James book "THE NEPHILIM IMPERATIVES DARK SENTENCES" appears to be a continuation which I am starting to read right now. I highly recommend it, and that you will have a greater insight about how UFO's tie in with these last days!

In The Rapture Dialogues, Terry James added a provocative and challenging twist to the subject of UFO phenomenon. This book is both fictionally entertaining and scripturally accurate. I will definitely be reading the sequel. Woman Submit! Christians & Domestic Violence

A fast paced, hard to put down page turner. I read most of it the first night. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Bibical prophecy and spiritual warfare. It is certainly a book for our times, and the events unfolding around us. In the words of Chuck Missler, I too, can't wait for the sequel.

Having read many of the glowing reviews for this book, I'm a little confused. Few of them sound like the book I read. The one I read did have nonstop action, and no doubt its basic premise is, shall we say, "too true to be good." Beyond that, however, the book I read was biblically shallow, had an over-the-top storyline, and contained numerous textual errors. After looking forward to reading it (gift from a friend), I was disappointed to find it so. Did a different book somehow implant itself in my copy of The Rapture Dialogues?

Roswell, New Mexico, 1947. What really happened? Did the military cover up an alien crash landing? Were alien bodies recovered? Or was something far more sinister uncovered by these and other incidents?

On July 3, 1947, James Morgan is flying a routine mission over New Mexico when his partner Clark Lansing disappears without a trace. Morgan is sworn to secrecy and tells no one of the incident. Years later, in 1967, the past comes back to haunt him. A young man, Mark Lansing, turns up on Morgan's doorstep wanting answers. The younger Lansing claims that he is having nightly visitations and is hearing a disembodied voice claiming to be his father. Oddly enough, James Morgan has been having sleep disruptions of his own.

Is Clark Lansing still alive? Are aliens holding him captive? The truth is far more terrifying?

The Rapture Dialogues adeptly combines history, alien mythology, science, and religious prophecy into an extremely convincing tale that chills the reader to the bone while gently reminding them of the possibilities and their responsibilities in their own future. The author has obviously done a great deal of research in all of these areas to create realistic characters, scenes, and scenarios. Add to this a natural talent to create good entertaining literature that draws the reader into the action and you have one of the best books I've read in a while.

This sweet, beautiful book teaches about bats in a lovely, non-threatening way. Stellaluna, as a lost baby bat, must learn about her talents on her own while trying to live with birds. Readers learn the difference between birds and bats, as well as the beauty of bats. What a wonderful book for bat lovers as well as those who fear bats! It is a wonderful tool for education as well as an all-round stunningly wonderful book.

GREAT STORY, WE HAVE THE BOOK AND VIDEO. A MUST HAVE FOR YOUNG ONES, CHILDREN WITH AUTISM. MY SON LOVES IT.

An owl attacks a mother bat one night, as the owl attacked a baby bat named Stellaluna was knocked out of her mother's grip and landed in a nest of baby birds. She must conform to the birds' ways and not hang upside down and starts to eat bugs. However, she then gets the chance to show her fellow bird "siblings" what life is like as a bat and the birds and Stellaluna learn about self-acceptance and accepting others. The genre is picture book and reading level is ages 4-8.
First and foremost it's a picture book that has information about bats and teaches it in the most interesting and appealing way for young readers to understand. The illustrations are very realistic and go fantastic with the words on the page. Genre: Fiction-Picture Book. Reading Level: Ages 4-8

Stellaluna by Janell Cannon is about a bat named Stellaluna. When she was barely born she was with her mother. Then an owl struck Stellaluna's mother. Stellaluna went down faster and faster until she hit a branch, hung up side down and covered herself. The next day she fell down in a nest. She never knew the nest. She met some birds named Pip, Flitter and Flap. Mama Bird came and let her stay. She also brought a green grasshopper for Stellaluna to eat so she won't be hungry. Stellaluna got in trouble by Mama Bird because she was hanging upside down with Pip, Flap and Flitter. Mama Bird said that if she doesn't behave she will not live in the nest. The next day it was time to learn how to fly. When Stellaluna flew she was full of happiness. When she landed she was trying to stand on the branch. Then she did it. It took her a lot of time but she got it. She flew a lot with Pip, Flitter and Flap. Then the birds went home. Stellaluna was hanging by her wings, too tired to soar. There came a bat hanging upside down. A lot of bats came. Bats were asking her questions. Someone wanted to see her. It was her mother! She was so happy. Stellaluna was hungry. Her mother said they would fly at night to find fruit. They found mangoes. When she was done she was upside down with Flitter, Pip, and Flap. At night they couldn't see. Quickly they were falling down but Stellaluna caught their hands wrapping them closely like they were sisters and brothers.

It doesn't matter if you're different. You can still be friends. Stellaluna and the birds ate different things. They fly at different times. They were different but Stellaluna still saved them. Stellaluna taught the birds how to hang upside down. I liked the way that Stellaluna was a bat and she still saved the birds when they weren't brothers and sisters.

THIS BOOK WILL SEND YOU THRU SO MANY EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTERS ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY. YOU CAN ACTUALLY FEEL THE PAIN MO IS GOING THRU. I THINK MANY FEMALES CAN RELATE TO THIS BOOK, I KNO I DID.I LOVED IT.

This has to be one of the best book i ever read. Torn kept me tearing through the pages, from the day i started it. The book hit so close to home because i went through the same experiance but not for 10 years. Its easy for people to say that Mo shoulda have left quan, but in all reality when you are in the situation,loves clouds your judgement. But otherwise the book kept you intrested, it made you feel like you are really there. I laughed and i cryed and i can proudly say that i am going to pass this book around to each and everyone of my friends. The book made me realize that you could easily think that you love a person,but it might be the idea of love, that makes you hang on for dear life.I WISH I CAN GIVE IT MORE THAN 5 STARS. this book deserves 100 stars.

You know I loved the story, Keisha is one of my favorite authors. Mo and Quan were constantly at each others throats and I could truly feel her pain through out the story. But the funny thing is as I was reading I was begging for a little more info into the lives of Mina, Victor and their two kids. I know it wasn't their story but I'm just like please give me more. So Keisha if you read this....." LET ME KNOW WHATS GOING ON WITH MISA, MINA, BLACK, AND VICTOR!"

I'm telling you one thing you MUST go get this book and read. You will not be dissappointed. I've never read a book from the author but I am now one of her fans. This book was soo good I read it in one day because I couldn't put it down. The story is a bout Mo and Quan and how their relationship was doomed from the first day they met but didn't want to see it until years later. Then Mo meets Boss, her thug in shinning armor, ready to help her pick up the pieces and show her the true meaning of the word the call LOVE! The book really shows you how Mo was TORN!!!
