This book helped me mostly to organize my thoughts and my binder, and gave me good questions to ask potential vendors. Beyond that, nothing really sticks in my head.

I have to start out saying that I am not the type of person to write a review. Now there are so many wedding planner books that all say the same thing, but this is by far the best and most informative book I read. There are so many stresses when planning a wedding and this book tells you what you have to do and when. You don't need to spend thousands on a wedding planner, all you need is this book. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone needing help on planning a wedding...and if you are planning a wedding, you know you need all the help you can get! This book if worth every penny! THE ONLY WEDDING PLANNER YOU NEED IS THIS BOOK! TRUST ME!!

A great find for planning your wedding!

This book has the amazing ability to cover absolutely every thing you need to think of when planning a wedding and also walks you through the step by step process to making it a huge success. Other wedding planning books were a bit too "on the surface" giving me pointers that I had heard before or weren't realistic. The tips within this book, whether you are a bride on a budget, or have limitless funds, will show you how to add the special elements that make it your wedding. Joyce has managed to create a planning timeline that is realistic, not overwhelming, shows you how to be incredibly creative (even if at times you be creatively challenged) and makes planning your wedding an enjoyable process.

I looked through all the books on the shelves at Barnes and Nobles and other bookstores before using this planner for my May 2007 wedding. I read this planner from cover to cover, and found it had the most useful information I needed, and because it was in a binder I could easily add pages of information I had printed off the internet. The binder also makes it easy to remove pages that as an individual you may not need.

I found my wedding planning to be really easy with all the timetable and guidlines this planner had to offer, and my guests and vendors were all impressed with how on top of things I was.

I would HIGHLY recommend this planner to any bride planning her wedding on her own, or with the help of a wedding planner. I had a $20,000 wedding with 200 guests, worked full time until two weeks before the big day, had no wedding planner, my bridal party and family lived 1,000 miles aways and could not help me, I lived 100 miles from my wedding location, and I had eight months to pull it off. Yet I pulled off a great wedding using this planner and have had people recommend a new career.

This is the best planner I have seen out there. It's the perfect size so you can tear out pages and insert them into the book without having to fold everything up.

I purchased mine brand new (they have them in stock) from Barnes and Noble for $14.95.

A great value, it's a wonder no one seems to know about it!

I am very skeptical about buying a planner online. I want to actually be able to thumb through the pages, and see what each has to offer. I didn't see this on here before I bought it in a bookstore, and I'm really suprised that there is only one review on it!

This planner has A LOT of helpful information, tips, and ettiquite for thos of us who don't really know what we are doing! It isn't over-kill, which is really nice, because I can't really see myself spending hours reading about EVERY detail. There is also no cheesy pictures of "ideas", most of which, are out dated, or not my taste. It was only $20 in the store, and totally worth it. There are lots of places to put your own notes, and add brochures.

I also love the fact that this is a hard cover binder. There is a version that is a soft cover binder too, but I prefer this, since it will be able to keep everything nice, and I can write on it if I need to also. This is really something that I will recomend to any bride!

I'm surprised to see that nobody else has recommended this planner yet! Before selecting this one I looked at the various other planners on Amazon and read their reviews. Since this one didn't even rank because nobody had reviewed it yet, I didn't even consider it until I ran across it at the bookstore.

The first reason I picked it up was because it is ring-bound and full letter size, meaning I could add pages for notes and contracts easily (otherwise I might have picked the Simple Stunning planner due its high review average). The binder isn't the highest quality (kind of like an economy hardback book), but at least it isn't bubble gum pink or plastered with cheesy pictures. I'm thinking I will eventually transfer the contents to a regular binder. To me, this isn't a big deal.

This planner is published by the same people as The Bride's Book of Lists, which also has a high review average. In fact, it looks like the lists and tables from that book just migrated to the new binder format. The tables are really helpful because they are a list of interview questions for the various kinds of vendors. Several columns to the right of the questions let you do a side-by-side comparison of all the responses. This is a feature that I didn't see in any of the planners that I looked through. Other planners only had space for the final selections and didn't act as a workbook to help me figure out which vendor to pick.

There are no photographs and relatively few illustrations. I like this because I plan to buy other books and materials for ideas and don't need my planner for that purpose. Really, I love it that this one cut out all the frou-frou stuff and gets right down to the nuts and bolts of planning. It does have a few examples, suggestions and tips, but overall it's primarily a workbook.

Other planners have plastic pockets/sleaves for keeping clippings, samples and contracts, which is great. This one does have pockets in the dividers, but they are cardstock weight paper. Again, I'll probably just add my own plastic sleaves as needed.

Since I've only just begun to plan, I don't know how comprehensive the lists or questions will be, but they look good so far.

Never Throw Rice at a Pisces by Stacey Wolf, is a delightful book given to me, while planning my own upcoming wedding. I enjoyed the light hearted way she explains why we astrologically make the choices we make. From cover to cover, I found it fun, entertaining, full of information and recommend giving it as a gift, to bring smiles to brides to be, who are in the process of planning their weddings.

On a topic that I find is often unbearably stuffy, Never Throw Rice at a Pisces is a wonderful breath of fresh air. You don't have to believe in astrology to enjoy Ms. Wolf's take on a great wedding planning guide. The case studies she uses throughout make for interesting reading, and her breezy tone lightens up what for many is a stressful topic. This is a great bridal shower gift - you will find it being passed around and discussed as everyone wants to see what they can expect from their Aries mother-in-law or as they look for music ideas that will appeal to their Gemini fiance. Should be a new standard in the wedding planning canon.

My matron of honor gave me Never Throw Rice at a Pisces by Stacey Wolf, I think it saved my sanity and probably saved me from my fiance calling off the engagement. I had gotten so wrapped up in all of the nitty gritty details that I was taking all of the fun out of planning the most special day of our lives together.........that is until we have children. Anyway, I highly recommend this book to every bride to read before she starts the process of planning her wedding. I am so thankful for this book, it was so fun to read about our signs and discover what will make us both happy and hopefully relaxed during the process. I'm totally re-focused now and can get back to planning our beautiful wedding with a light heart!

We couldn't find anything really adventurous that we wanted to do on our honeymoon -- we'd read about scuba diving, snorkeling, paradsailing in travel articles, but we didn't find THE destination for us until we read through this book and found four or five great islands that were perfect. Even better, this book has a giant contact sheet, so it took us no time at all to get to the islands' Web sites and request info. So we're off to the Seychelles next summer for our honeymoon! We can always go to Belize or to Thailand on another vacation. This is a great book for anyone who wants to do something really original on their honeymoon...and then keep these suggestions around for future travel plans. This is one wedding book I'm not handing off to my other engaged friends! I'm keeping this one!

The New Honeymoon Planner by Sharon Naylor is perhaps the most thorough and helpful general travel guidebooks I have ever discovered. It is perfect for the groom or couple planning a honeymoon, whether a luxury trip or on a tight budget. However, it is NOT just for honeymooners! It has excellent trip planning tips for EVERY kind of trip, and you will save many, many times over the price of the book ($16.95 US) in the first trip Sharon's tips help you plan. She has covered every kind of travel, both domestic and foreign and every kind of trip from luxury cruises to back-packing in the jungles. And she directs you to a wealth of internet sites that will answer any problem you could ever encounter on a trip or supply any need for the travels. THIS BOOK SHOULD BELONG TO EVERYONE WHO PLANS ANY KIND OF TRIP TO ANYWHERE!

My fiance and I aren't really into the island honeymoon scene, and we heard that this book has a ton of suggestions about cruises, spas, travel abroad, adventure trips. And this book is great!...especially the big cities section that talks about great places in the United States to visit. The list of Websites to check out is enormous, and we loved the packing section. This is a great handbook -- very useful, filled with ideas and a big time-saver. Get this one and use it again for your 1st anniversary vacation.

We got this book as an engagement gift, and we love it. It's PACKED with ideas and resources on so many honeymoon spots that we're now considering something more adventurous than we wanted before. Plus, we read about some islands we've never even heard of...they'll be great for our future vacations! That's the thing about this book. It's just filled with great vacation ideas and Web sites, plus insider tips on how to make travel easier and safer...so we're hanging on to this one for all our future trips. And it was so much fun to read about the private islands and special packages you can get, the food and wine tours you can go on, how to get extra perks at your hotel for being honeymooners. This is our Honeymoon Bible.

I brought this book with me on my honeymoon so that I could fill in a little information each day, so I wouldn't forget anything. It has so many nice pages to place photo's and write details about your vacation. I used my photo doubles to cut and fill every page with all of the exciting things we did. We glued postcards of the resorts that we stayed at and clippings of our ATV extravaganza. It was a fun book to fill and really captures my honeymoon experience.

The creative mind of author Alan Cook certainly has few rivals--his stories are cleaver, different and always entertaining to the highest degree. His latest novel " Honeymoon For Three" is no exception. This book is full of high-energy suspense with a plot that will capture the reader's attention.

Cook has a creative touch with how he developments each character in his stories. They are not some cardboard cookie cutter mystery genre stereotypes. Each of them come alive and catches your imagination and attention no matter how big they play in the plot. This is the authors' signature strength and separates him from the hordes of other small market writers.

The book takes you on a journey across country with a honeymoon couple and a insane and obsessive stalker. It is a tale that is both unusual and scary and well worth spending your time reading this book. "The American Authors Association" gives this book its highest rating of FIVE STARS!

I was captivated from page 1. I'll never think about belly buttons the same way again. Cook really got into that obsessed killer's mind and portrayed him very believably. The buildup to the ending kept me reading with my breath held. My interest was sustained throughout. Al Cook is an excellent writer with a masterful touch for the mystery genre.

Gary Blanchard meets Penny, the love of his life, through a computer dating service called "Human Inventory." He knows she loves him when she wants to watch him bowl. After all, bowling is a boring game to watch.

The couple is on the trip of their lifetime. They stopped in Reno to get married before visiting several National Parks. What they did not know was that they were not going alone.

Alfred Ward is obsessed with his former high school mate, Penny. He is also obsessed with bellybuttons. Women have never been attracted to him; he blames all his tribulations on his outie. From peeping in her window, he knows that Penny has the perfect innie bellybutton and flat tummy to go with it.

Someone has been sending notes to Penny, scary notes. She has no reason to suspect Alfred. When the notes and calls had not stopped the growing relationship between Penny and Gary, Alfred knows more drastic measures will be necessary. He will stop at nothing to win the love of his life, not even murder.

What ensues is a dynamic and amusing adventure as Alfred follows the newlyweds from National Park to National Park.

"Honeymoon For Three," by Alan Cook, is a delightful tale! Mr. Cook has an amazing talent for creating suspense and tension in his plot. Alfred is insane. Penny is sharp and a quick thinker. Cook uses engaging supporting characters, like Don, Rowanda and Mattie, throughout the scheme, to enhance the storyline. The scene at the wedding chapel is one of my favorites. Cook does a beautiful job describing the National Parks, including bears. I recommend "Honeymoon For Three" fans of mystery and suspense.

Booking a honeymoon is harder than it looks, since there are few times when you have a selection of such exotic locales, and the pressure to make everything absolutely perfect means that it can almost be as hard as planning the actual wedding. This book is more than just a travel guide - it provides in-depth coverage of likely honeymoon vacations, together with the pros and cons of each, as well as providing a host of often-overlooked honeymoon advice. Perhaps most importantly it was also an amusing read - the sort of book you definitely need after planning a wedding.

When a leather-clad stranger forced Paige O'Halloran into a limousine, she knew her humdrum life was about to change. Then her abductor turned out to be longtime nemesis Rye Warner - hired to be her bodyguard. And in order to keep her safe, he was hiding them away in a honeymoon cottage!

Rye couldn't believe his luck. He was being paid to protect the prim-and-proper Paige, the same woman he'd been verbally battling with for years. But now that he'd finally gotten a look at the elusive Ms. O'Halloran, he knew he was in for some cold showers. For suddenly Rye wanted to turn their "honeymoon" into the real thing.

A good read with lively, amusing dialog as two unlikely characters battle each other to keep their strong attraction under control only to fall in love.

Excellent book! I read it just prior to when I had suspected I would be getting engaged (I was right!), and it has helped me to overcome some huge hurdles and navigate the sometimes turbulent waters of being engaged. It was such a relief to know that how I was feeling wasn't just me being unreasonable, and the book has some very sage advice for handling the multitude of "disasters" you'll encounter. I'm a well educated, reasonable (usually), self-sufficient woman, and I suspect that if I hadn't read this book I would have thrown dishes at my hubby the first time he simply assumed I would do them...HA! Luckily I saw this coming and had a very calm discussion with him about what our "roles" would be in the house...my role was not to be the maid.

I got this book right after my own wedding and really enjoyed reading it. It dosen't tell you anything new. But the tone of the book and the personal stories the author shares makes it seem more informative. The book would be great at soothing pre-wedding jitters (and if you have time to read before you wedding you are to be commmended.) But I would reccomend this book as a "fun read" after the wedding and honeymoon are over. It helps transfer a bride's thoughts from wedding day worries to larger marriage issues in a fun friendly way.

I'm guessing that writing this book was quite therapeutic for Ms Stark; marrying a military guy must have been hard. I found it full of personal info, but short on real-world application. I would not recommend this book for anyone looking for real advice, but only as a semi-entertaining story of one woman's trial thru her early days of marriage (with tidbits thrown in from her friends' lives). And maybe that's all its meant to be, but the flavor is laced with resentment--which is not that funny.

This book has changed my marriage and life for the better! Stark writes what many think and feel but no one says. I suggest at least flipping through it before your wedding, but definitely reading it soon afterwards. Well-organized, it's a fun read that could go quickly if I didn't constantly stop to digest her new revelation and apply it to my own marriage. My new favorite book.

I read What No One Tells the Bride a while ago and was shocked when I read the review titled "What Have You Done for Me Lately." Let me quote what comes straight after "To this day, her husband does not know about the fling" on page 48.

"Now, I'm not recommending a fling as the learning experience is was for Yvonne. But among the brides I interviewed for the book, Yvonne's experience is not that uncommon. Many brides contemplated one last fling, while almost everyone I know or interviewed, either in the engagement or early in the marriage, entertained such questions as, Am I doing the right thing? Did I marry the right person? Or, Am I even the marrying kind?"

The review I am replying to paints an unfair picture of this book, and represents an attitude that many brides struggle with. It may not be OK to have one last fling, but judgmental attitudes towards the many complicated emotions people experience while navigating their relationships lead to shame, which is not productive for anyone. Cheers to Stark for talking about the stuff everyone's afraid they're the only one thinking or experiencing.
