Budget Books

Although I grew up in southern California, I now live in Boston. That means that I'm likely to be a little behind the times in terms of what's going on in LA. Realizing that, I decided to see if this edition of Fodor would help me during my recent trip to LA.

Having read the book, I realized that there are so many new attractions in LA that I could fill my spare time during the visit with trips solely to see things I had never seen before. So rather than make my 527th trip to Disneyland, I went elsewhere. I'm glad I did.

In fact, there are so many new attractions that I could have filled about ten trips with ideas from this guide. I found the detailed information about the hours, costs and parking specials helped me to select locations that not only appealed to me . . . they also saved me a lot of money. I estimate that the book saved me more than three times its price. If I had been in LA longer, the cost savings would have been higher.

I also checked out the descriptions of places I know well, and found those entries to be excellent as well.

When I arrived, everything was as described. That's unusual in my experience with guide books.

If you are going with a friend or your family, you will benefit even more than I did.

Went to Portugal and this book will help you with your traveling plans. There is a lot to see and usually little time...so this will help you
plan your trip so you can see more.

I purchased this book to plan a trip to Tennessee. I always purchase Fodor Guides when planning vacations as they always give the best lodging, dining, and sight seeing information. It's definitely worth purchasing if you want a local's view of the area you are visiting.

Fun and easy projects! Beautiful party favors elegant enough for formal affairs or practical for any event or party. Lenae is good teacher. She gives you a list of all the project materials you will need before you begin. Her explanation of how to do each project is thorough,simple, and to the point. All of the projects are lovely and elegant. The book is well organized and fun to read. The beautiful pictures of the finished projects are very inspiring. You can just see a table full of your beautiful projects at your next party or event.

When I first started to look through this book, I decided that it's all trivial. Then I looked again, hm-m-m... I actually never thought about most of this "trivial" stuff before. The language was simple, true, but it's amazing how many good hints are there. I regularly read books on personal finance, and this book does not repeat them. Say, did you ever wonder how banks make money on those "0% APR introductory offers"? And did you even thought why it is important to know? Yes, good question contains most of the answer. Because that's what you pay, if you use this "free" credit. And this book is good with both questions and answers. Another example: if your income is $100 short from your expenses, how much expenses you should cut? $100, right? Now, if you cannot cut expenses, how much you have to earn? $100? Not keeping in mind income tax! Assume your effective federal income tax rate last year was 15% and your tax bracket was 33%, then how much? $115? $133? $150? Wrong, quite a bit more!

The cover says, it's good for teenagers, and that's true. I'll try to make my teenager kids read it. In a few years they are going to a college, and I want them to be smart about their money. The cover says that it's also good for everybody who has come to this country and tries to make sense of our financial life. I suppose that's true too. But it's also definitely good for a lot of other folk. It was good for me, and I am not a teenager.

The Frommer books are all great ways to plan your trip with the kind of information that makes it work for your greatest enjoyment.

Out of the 5 or 6 books I've reviewed on NZ travel, this is the one that will be actually carried and used on my month-long trip. The information is never vague; for example excursion trips are described, the top providers are listed with all necessary details. Maps are extensive and frequent. I particularly liked the fact that while there are many ideas for budget travel, also included are the special hotels or restaurants or offroad trips that can cost more but are considered worth it. This guide is for everyone, versus Lonely Planet, (the backpacking crowd) or Fodors ( high end spenders) or Inside Guides (good pictures and background, no practical information).

Hofstede explains how management can influence organisations by using of budgets. He explains this as a 'game'. It is a study, he has done within approximately 40 organisations in The Netherlands. It is written in a very simple way and is understandable to all readers.

Heather Chandler's THE GAME PRODUTION HANDBOOK adds to others in the 'Game Production' series and offers a range of methods and tips for producing more organized games. From voice over sessions and submission processes to brainstorming, developing concepts, and marketing them with publishers, THE GAME PRODUCTION HANDBOOK covers it all.

This book describes the state of art of gender budgets in the world. It reveals the different actors and factors that have developed this new way to improve the government efficiency and also describes a way to diminish the gap that exists between men and women in the society.
It can be a helpful tool for politians and public administrators, as it will help them to understand how public budgets can affect men and women in a different way and how to avoid this non-desired outcome.
