i discovered this gem of a book in my final year of medical exams. it presents a comprehensive approach to diseases covering everything from aetiology to pathology to clinical approach and treatment. it is particularly useful for revision because it provides differntials for each symptom. it is not too wordy either giving you all the essential facts you need to get through the exams.i would highly reccommend getting this book anytime from third year onwards. it will save you a lot of time and stress. i have been informed the authors were advanced medical students at the time they wrote this so they know exactly what is needed for effective learning and to have a competant knowledge base.

Excellent charts with pathological and clinical correlation of the lab findings. Exemplar examples of types of illnesses/pathologic processes expected with each lab test.

This was an excellent review of neuroscience for a medical student. The level of detail was in between a textbook and an outline and useful for looking up terms and concepts that had become fuzzy. The index is thorough.
The graphics are simple but clear and use multiple colors.

This is a great book for medical students. I'm really glad I bought it, wish I had it for my MS1 year!

Very good review but Not to be used as an the only review book, I used it with Crush, they are complementary. This book is very updated and to the point. I liked it.

This book, dating back from a symposium now twenty years ago, includes timeless information. For instance, there is a fascinating chapter on the REE-bearing clays of South China. Information is provided on the REE concentration as well as the beneficiation of these clays.

This book also contains some basic information. For instance, there is a good summary of the principal REE-bearing minerals (p. 17). This includes their empirical formulas.

There are chapters on REE-containing alloys, REE-based magnetic substances, the beneficiation of various REE-bearing deposits, REE-based catalysts, REE phosphors in lighting applications, and much more.

I purchased this book to use in my private educational therapy practice and fell in love with the series! I have now acquired other levels, the vocabulary, books, and the skimming/scanning books. The book consists of various short passages of different genres with a given word count for timing, a comprehension section, inferential questions, and vocabulary. The passages are interesting, the questions quite appropriate, and the entire drill entertaining. My students have enjoyed reading them, listening to them, and writing responses to them. They increase in dificulty as students' ability increases. I have found this series extremely easy to use--and not rejected by my students!

If I were going to make a complaint, it would be that there is not an answer key. However, this way actually allows for more interaction with students as they justify their responses and you can see how their reasoning might diverge from yours.

This inxpensive resource can be used over and over again--I highly recommend it!
