Preparation Books

As a law student, I always get into lots of cases but do not have a whole concept of a course.

I use this book along with casebook.
It helps me to understand substancial law. After reading this book, I can understand my casebook and join class discussion.

While I have not had an opportunity to use "Psalms for Surgery" to prepare for surgery, I use it consistently, to relax and to help me on my personal healing journey. The use of quiet music and verses from the Psalms spoken in Curtis Dean Hall's calm voice found in this CD have been instrumental in reminding me of God's power to love, care, encourage, and heal, whether that healing is needed in the mind, the heart, or the body. I have seen improvement in the effects of degenerative bone disease, and I believe "Psalms for Surgery" has helped me experience a measure of healing that will increase in the future.

The book is an introductory for medical students. It is concise and each chapter is thorough enough for psych rotations and board review. A complete medical, social, and psychological perspective is achieved in each chapter. Pediatric, geriatric and cultural psychiatry chapters are included. Dementia, depression and substance abuse chapters are very good. Allied health workers with a desire to broaden their knowledge can do so with this user friendly book. Each chapter is two pages long. In those two pages a diagram is given that gives brilliant structure to each topic. Occasional variation in terminology (British book) can occur but, still an excellent book.

As an owner of all the Recall Series texts, I found this less-popular text to be one that I used more often than many of the others in this series. It is small and an easy review in one weekend. It summarizes the personality disorders in a few pages, and addresses the other Axis I disorders succinctly. This is a great resource for review the weekend before your psychiatry clerkship begins. It is not a sole resource for the exam, and one downfall is that it is not current with a recent edition. Still, a clutch review of the abstract world of psychiatry.

Wounderful book with full contents on line. Easily readable, made me aware of many secrets that I did not know about. A must have for respirologists.

This is such an exceptional guide! As instructional manuals go they can be rather dull and boring, but I believe this to be helpful, insightful and easy to understand. Ms. Williams has done a delightful job with the context and verbage - easy for the layman to understand. As someone interested in this type of format, this manual is outstanding. And kudos for including the cd-rom.

As always Amazon came up with the product I was unable to get anywhere else. I am using Parse's theoretical approach for my research and am keen to own her writings. My research into Palliative Care Nursing is using a purely qualitative approach and Parse's theory is helpful in constructing a framework.

By far, out of about 5 or 6 textbooks you need to pass today's intercollegiate examination, this book is probably the most important you could own. In fact, if you can only afford to buy one general MRCS book, this would be it. It must be supplemented with an Anatomy book like any other MRCS guide since no guide can cover all of anatomy in my opinion. This is the gold-standard in my opinion. Congratulations to the authors

This book is dated but the information is still valid. I bought this book as a companion of Carroll Smith's Prepare to Win. This book shows how to convert the production cars to the proper race car whereas Smith's book is more focusing to the open-wheel cars.

Organized by the subspecialties in diagnostic radiology, this book is a worthwhile read. This book is useful for upper level residents to gather the "big picture" and has high yield facts organized in a clear and concise manner. This book has no figures or pictures and does not take the place of in depth reading.
