Any attorney or legal nurse consultant involved in litigating nursing home cases should obtain this book. It covers the important points in screening nursing home cases, including why these cases have exploded in terms of numbers and verdicts. The perspectives of defense and plaintiff attorneys, administrators, physicians, nurses, pharamcists and others are presented in this comprehensive book. It has sold well since its introduction. A must have for people in this field.

This is one of the Secret Series,Medicine and Nursing's well know, question- and- answer format books that deal with the "tricks of the trade" from the various healthcare specialties. I think this is one of the best in the series.

The book is an essential primer of key areas for anyone in a hospital nursing managerial position, particularly first-line and middle management, although I think nurse managers in other settings would also benefit. It covers a years' worth of basic knowledge that took me years to learn on my own and in college. I wish I would have had it to help me in my first nurse management role.

In addition to including a review of basic management concepts and theory, the authors share their practical advice, pearls of wisdom and real-world tips learned from the School of Experience. It is as good as having a mentor. The concise, tight format makes it easy reading in short intervals, and you can readily focus in on one specific area as needed.

I was impressed by the breath and depth of the topics, from age-old problems to the new emerging issues. The budgeting, staffing, legal, negotiation, and employment chapters provided essential basic tools and ideas that I could use. Chapters on the office, time, meetings, and motivating employees offered valuable new insights. I appreciated the information in areas often not covered in other management books, such as Generation X, managed care, impaired nurses, unions and overseeing renovation projects. This is the most useful nursing management book I have come across.

This book was a supurb review of the things I've learned in the Licensed Practical Nursing program here in New York. The book summed up alot of information, pertaining to subject matters, other than nursing.

As a sonography student, I'd been looking for an ultrasound book that is not too technical to read but gives important background to build a good foundation. I have plenty of required textbooks on my shelf, but I soon realized that their target audience is radiologists. This Ob/Gyn review fits my need. It's got to-the-point explanations and decent pictures and diagrams for illustration. No doubt, the book is a bit expensive, but it saves me lots of time. Now when I go back to read those huge text, I understand better.

I found this book in the library and kept renewing over, finally deciding to purchase it. I learned Gross Anatomy in medical school this year, but found it difficult to translate what I saw in dissections back to the live person. This book does a beautiful job explaining relationships in surface anatomy with color photos and hand drawings. It includes relationships with arteries, nerves and joints. Most beneficual are the explanations of how to actually palpate the structures in physical exam. This is an excellent resource for medical students.

Dr. Diallo writes a comprehensive review book for the MCAT that will help you organize, memorize, and learn the high-yield facts needed to perform well on the MCAT sciences. This is a highly recommended MCAT review manual!

Although I have briefly glimpsed through this book at the medical bookshop, it is my humble opinion that the title truly lives up to it's readers expectations! I specifically looked up a couple of topics and briefly fingered through the topics (Stevens - Johnsons syndrome & acute anterior uveitis) - the book gave you the definition, the signs and symptoms, treatment, etc. This was done with much thought and care, systematically.I was about to purchase the Wills manual of Ophthalmoloy (not the exact title) but this book fulfills all my expectations in a pocket manual. As an ophthalmic nurse I am definitely getting this one.

I think this book really helped tie things together for me for my Oral Board exam. I read the book cover to cover (it contains easy to get through case studies) the weekend before the test. Many of the same scenarios were on my orals. I even got an "excellent job" from one of my examiners on my most dreaded subject: Pediatric ophthalmology!! It's well worth the investment, an easy read, and gets you thinking in the systematic way needed to succeed on the orals. Go ahead, indulge.

The color guide contains handy informations and illustrations I need in the diagnosis of oral diseases. It is so compact that it fits into the side pocket of my laboratory gown making it a very handy quick reference wherever and whenever I am, may it be at the laboratory or during classes.
