Preparation Books

This is a highly informative book for anyone who collects the Rawleigh products. It is full of the history of the company as well as lots of pictures of the products. It also has value listings for most of the products. I would reccommend this book to all.

The only suggestion I would make is that Kaplan incorporates the "underlined" words in the main text as well, the same way it incorporates the "bolded" words. It gets annoying to have to flip to the back every time you encounter an "underlined" word with which you are not familiar. A little too advanced for my 9-year-old although she did manage to finish it (with a bit of prodding). It would be great and highly entertaining for high school students.

This book answers so many questions about where medications come from. Drug discovery has a rich history, and it is difficult to find any information. This book is fantastic!!

Barron's makes it so much easier to understand the abstract concepts of Earth Science. The test-prep book also includes AND explains ALL the ANSWERS TO A QUESTION. This was exceptionally helpful.

Reading ECGs is like learning a foreign language. In order to be fluent you have to see all kinds of varying tracings and become familiar with each one's dialect. When you think you have the basics of ECG interpretation, then this book will take you to the next level in 12 lead analysis. There is no informative text, just 12 leads and then their interpreted meaning. This will not teach you how to read 12 leads, but it gives you 250 cases to read and interpret everything from NSR to A-Fib with WPW, BBB, AMI, PVCs with an electrolyte imbalance.

I listened to this hypnotherapy CD repeatedly during the weeks before having my baby and the beautiful, positive words and images in it echoed through my mind constantly. I gave birth to my second baby at home in the water (after a cesarean with the first) in a birth that was calm, awesome, powerful and easy. I have since passed my copy to three friends who all loved it. I highly recommend this and the pregnancy relaxation Cd. The voice is calm and attractive. I often listened in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep, and even listened for a while to relax when I went into labour early in the morning.

I found this book made the target when it comes to teacher prepartion. As a doctoral student this book provides extensive information in effective teaching and the price was just right.

Mike Holt's Electricians's Exam Prep book is the guide that I have used for the intensive week-end Electrician's Exam Prep classes that I teach. I have found that this book covers all of the essentials that you need to study to pass your National Electrical Code (NEC) test. This book starts with a review of the math and theory essential to passing an exam, and then subsequently does a great job of covering the things that are difficult to study, such as code tables and calculations including services and motor circuits. Mike includes lots of explanatory diagrams and examples.

Another great feature in the 1999 edition is that Mike has included all of the answers in the back of the book, often including explanations or showing the work to reach that answer. In previous editions, that answer key was a separate $22 purchase.

This book would be of benefit to anyone studying for their National Electrical code licensing exam, whether at the Journeyman, Master, Inspector, or Electrical contractor level. (Check your state or city exam guidelines to determine if your exam will also cover local and state laws, business laws, etc.)

Easy to read and understand. A must have study guide for anyone taking the state electrical contractor exam. Covers everything you'll need to know to pass.

Living in the Los Angeles area, I've been a long-time customer of the Elixir store in West Hollywood. There is no place like it, with licensed herbalists helping customers like me to better understand the power of herbs. I never get sick anymore and I've consumed a thousand tonic beverages at the tonic bar at Elixir. For me, this book is a fabulous window into the world of practical herbalism. I've already tried some of the make-at-home recipes and they're every bit as delicious and healthful as the ones available at the Elixir store. It's clear that the authors didn't hold back on wonderful knowledge that stands behind the success of their store. My family and I are big tonic drinkers now and I'll eventually try every recipe, from soup and spritzer. Great book!!!
