A great dvd to have .For all people interested in human anatomy this dvd is a must to have.

This set of DVDs is transformed from Acland's preeminent Video Atlas of Anatomy series. It is an extremely navigable learning tool with even higher quality audio and visual resolution. The DVDs are based on true dissected specimens. They are particularly useful for those who need to learn anatomy but have few or no chance to do dissection. I also know some people who want to learn anatomy but they refuse to dissect bodies. For these people, Acland'd DVDs are ideal tools. [...]

I contacted Dr. Acland via his website, and suggested him to make a script of the DVDs. He is very kind and quickly prepare a sample for me. I find that the script can help me not only with understanding his explanation in the DVDs, but also with remembering the details. I even printed his script and took them with me in the subway. I read it, and at the same time try to recall the images in the DVDs. I find it is a very good way to remember so many anatomical terms and structures.

This book is wonderful. These are similar to the questions asked on the registry exams. Not only do they give you the answer to the pretests, but they provide references to the subject so you can read about it to further your understanding. This is the best investment I have made!

This exam review text is well researched. It is very thorough in its content, following the format of the National Board for Respiratory Care's national exam. The book is divided into components for pre-testing without prior review, into review by specific areas of practice, and into the "real" exam, followed by in-depth explanations of the basis for the correctly keyed answers. Such an approach has been very helpful in preparing graduates of two year Respiratory Care programs for successful passing of the advanced national exam. As an instructor of Respiratory Care, I find this book to be more rigorous than the exam itself. While this book's exam questions are not the exact questons as administered by the national testing agency, they more than adequately represent the content of the exam. This very specialized book belongs in the hands of serious national exam candidates.

This helped me tremendously for studying for my lab practical exams (bones and muscles). It has all the needed detail while keeping it simple as to not detract from the task at hand. Great product, highly recommended.

Visual learners need to see and experience what they are learning. What a great way to learn anatomy! I find coloring to be a very relaxing activity too.

Where has this book been for the last 10 years? as a teacher of AP Latin Lit. this book is top-notch. It pulls everything together succintly and saves the teacher an inordinate amount of time on dealing with peripheral matters. The grammar summaries are excellent and to the point the explanations of the figures of speech and rhetorical devicescoupled with the plentiful examples give the student an exact idea of what is to be exspected.
Above all I particularly liked the numerous sample questions, both in the M/C and Free Response sections. These helped as a model for creating my own questions.
I hope that when Latin Lit. ends in 2009 there is a follow up edition for the new AP Latin Syllabus.

This was a great book to help review for the exam. It has tips on all the sections and also has an extensive grammer review in the back. I only got it a few weeks before the test but I would recommend to anyone buying it that they buy it earlier if possible so that they can work through everything. Even buying it late it helped.

Rather than trying to be a synopsis of a text, Velm captures the spirit and essence of each period covered as well as consistently helpful hints on test prep. It's kind of like having Alt. U.S. History version 2, the view from the left side of the fence.Entertaining as a stand alone 'read' even if you're not prepping for the test.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It's not easy to make history come alive, especially with the looming threat of a major exam. This book doesn't just summarize facts that you might need for the exam. It takes the drudgery out of the exam review. I found myself forgetting that preparation for the exam was the focus and just enjoying the history that became truly compelling in this book. I really think that it would be helpful if this book were used in classrooms along with other methods of test prepration. It is comprehensive without ever being dull, and it's written with wit and compassion. If it's possible to take the stress out of preparation for an AP exam, this book accomplishes that task.

This book has a wealth of questions, which thoroughly test your knowledge of a variety of pharmaceutical topics, I found the bundled software to be the best part of this package.

This is one of the best preparations that you can use for epidemiology and biostatistics. The material is very high yield for usmle step 1 and it is an easy text to read. In the past, this text has been criticized for being long. However, I don't think that this kind of criticism has any merit. The text portion of this book is around 75 pages and can be read very quickly. The end consists of a practice test that really pins down the stuff that you need to know. There are also questions throughout the book as you read. Going through the entire text, I finished it in about 4 hours even with a minimal background in the subjects presented! I don't imagine that anyone would take much longer than 6. Keep in mind that this book is devoted to epidemiology and biostatistics, so don't think that it will get you ready for the behavioral science section alone. It will really help you understand the subjects quickly, though. It has been a life saver for my med school class that had terrible notes and lectures. If you need a boost in this subject then this is the book!

I took my USMLE in 1997, I found this review extremel helpfull, I did not have any problemes answering questions in USMLE, which I owe to the great presentation of Info, easy to remember the well organized materials, tables, figures. Now I am a resident, I easily remember the pages, tabletes. I frequently used before journal clubs. I recomended for every USMLE taker. It worth it, it deserve SIX Stars if possible.

Bauer does an excellent job of explaining the basics and details of pharmacokinetics; this book is great guide for both students and practicing clinicians. Many pharmacokinetic residents and fellows live by this book and it came highly reccommended to me by experienced clinicians.

As you read this text it becomes apparent that it was written by an in-the-trenches clinical pharmacist. It focuses on the practical application of pharmacokinetics in patient care. The text is very readable, written in an easy to follow style. The tables and illustrations are well presented, providing insight to the topic. There are chapters on aminoglycosides, vancomycin, digoxin, antiarrhythmics, anticonvulsants, cylcosporine, lithium, and theophylline. Each chapter contains practical step-by-step examples for both initial dosage determinations and serum level analysis. But you'll need to look elsewhere for pediatric pk information, application to peds is limited.

very, very thorough book. it covers essentially every common diseaes state and the treatment for each. i highly recommend it.

Handbook includes disease states, and categorizes medications of primary choice, and provides secondary alternatives. There are excellent abbreviated text outlining etiology and pathophysiological parameters. As well as step wise flow charts as a decision tool and guideline. The tables for medication dosing and comparability between different classes of drugs are extremely helpful, visually and content wise! In hospital pharmacy practice, this handbook has been my peripheral brain.
