It will improve really your diagnostic skillReview Date: 2002-02-06
I especially appreciated how the book tries to eliminate traditional but useless examination maneuvers and tries to clarify sensitivity and specificity of the usefull ones.
You will indeed discover dozens of usefull examination hints and secrets you absolutely don't know (unless you are Mangione).
It is also written in a pleasant and amusing way.
I will never sell mine.

To get that you must also purchase his title: The Pilot's Manual - The Private and Commercial.
I have finished reading Flight Training came to Amazon to Private and Commercial and It is not listed. Hopefully we can rectify that as Trevor Thom is very gifted at explaining things in a manner that don't bore those of us who are technically proficent (sp?) but also would not confuse those who aren't quite so technical.

I used these books to prepare for both my private and commercial certificates. Additionally, I based my lesson plans on the lessons presented in these books while working on my Certified Flight Instructor certificate.

Practitioners should read this because it will give you an understanding of childbirth like you have never had before.
The Only Kit a Pregnant Woman NeedsReview Date: 2003-09-18
Personally I have had four children, three of them by cesarean section after long and painful labours. I was diagnosed with CPD twice. My fourth child was born vaginally after I learned how to open my pelvic outlet during labour - it was still painful but she literally fell out as I was in a good position that opened my pelvis. Semi-sitting and a deep squat closed my pelvis but a supported squat is what opened my sit bones and I am still elated from the experience five months later.
Professionally I have primarily supported VBAC women in my practice and the knowledge I gained from the Pink Kit has been invaluable to my clients and students. They not only know how to birth, they trust their bodies and their experiences have been greatly enhanced with this knowledge and trust. Please, consider this your FIRST investment in your birth experience and for your baby - trust me, you will thank me, I promise.

Just passed my CCS-P 2 days ago using the 2006 versionReview Date: 2007-02-18
I spent a few weeks preparing for my CCS-P, using mainly this book's 2006 edition.
It walked me through reviewing coding areas that I needed refreshing on, pointing out to me that, for example, I wasn't as clear as I should be on how to code certain cardiac procedures and needed to spend some time on OB coding.
It gave me all I needed - the sample test questions and cases were right on for the exam. The CD was a bonus - simple interface that walks you through multiple questions. Nice.
So, I passed. Very nicely. In fact, you could say I met and exceeded all the key components for passing (a little bit of coder humor there!).
Thanks, Patricia et al. This really helped me prepare effectively with limited study time. It looks like a huge bit of work to put together - well done.
