The Best in the World!

If you have kids (or babysit them like I do) it's never too early to begin college planning. I wish this book had been around when I was prepping for higher education (yes, I'm from the dark ages, friends). There isn't a better book on the market when it comes to the fine art of securing scholarship money. And like my young charges, women of the U.S.A need to unite in an on-going struggle to be recognized by the university of your choice. Good luck ladies.

A Legend in Scholarship Seach Books

The world didn't begin with Adam, Eve and the PC with static IP's. In the land before time (Terminals with Internet and Monsterous E-commerce), you discovered various scholarships to apply for from books, magazines, and the news media. Students (like me) spent hours apon hours in 'scholarship listings' xeroxing every possibility that we would owe the government less after we graduated college.

Back when I started college (1998), the 'de facto' standard was this book by Daniel Cassidy. One year, a few of fellow High School students attended colleges out-of-state for free. Well, my guidence counselor fully believed in the power in this book.

Now, I'm out of school for three years and am starting to share my secrets on how I finish college for free (search for my name to read more on my website, if interested).

Long story short, this book is the standard in 'manual' scholarship searches. It features compact and succint listings seperated by your major and a section (general) that any student can qualify for. The print is readable, and it gives you the basic requirements for each scholarship along with contact information.

BUY THIS BOOK EACH YEAR UNTIL YOU GRADUATE! For the minimal cost of this book, the rewards you will get easily are reimbursed. The choice fore me is a no-brainer.

Do yourself some justice and get this book today; unless you want to pay 7% of 50k.

This book has it all. If you are looking for a particular artist, gallery, state by state list, this is the book for you. Sellen's descriptions of the artists' works are very informative. Although there are no photos, it's easy to imagine the artwork. Many of the artists can be contacted directly and even by phone in some instances. I highly recommend this publication. It has it all.

This book is quite good, even though it's about 4 years old right now, many things are still true. Some companies have turned the corner such as Citigroup, but overall a must for everyone who wants to know about how their spending at certain companies gets put back into or against the GLBT community.

Smart Spending is one of those books you didn't know you neededuntil it appeared. And thank God it has. Within its pages the moderngay man or lesbian learns just where to funnel whatever money iscoming into the household---lots or little. The advice here is smart and easy to grasp. Smart Spending will be the book everyone in my circle gets for their birthday this year. Thanks for the help, Grant!

The most comprehensive public record guide I've found
Helpful Votes: 9 out of 9 total.

I've worked with public records for some time and have bought many books . . . some good and some bad. This is the best I've come across. The information is current and the format is easy to use.

The depth of information provided, particularly in the county court and state agency sections, is very comprehensive. This book provides more locations and more details than anything else I've seen and I have them all.

If you work with public records, forget the other guides and put your money here . . . you won't be disappointed

MUST READING FOR THE SERIOUS INVESTOR
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.

I learned a lot of information about small companies with big futures. A book that I always refer to on how to buy these small- priced stocks is: MAKING DOLLARS WITH PENNIES - HOW THE SMALL INVESTOR CAN BEAT THE WIZARDS ON WALL STREET, by R. Max Bowser. Bowser has been making a "killing" investing in so called "penny stocks" for 25 years. I like the way he lists his winners and losers. Nothing hidden. Both books may make you wealthy.

Must have book for new daytraders!

I've tried many daytrading books, and some are very good. But I want to make up my own mind, and not base all of my portfolio decisions on what some author says. That's why I always check my S&P bookshelf whenever considering purchasing stock. This is definitely a must have book for new or experienced daytraders.

Being new to the bay area need not be daunting anymore. With this book in hand, you can go anywhere you want. All you need is an address. And since the map is in separate A4 size pages, it is very easy to look at different sections at the same time. No need to fold and unfold, no need to be worried about its getting torn.

The maps also have a lookup based on the house numbers. It will be the best investment you will have made in a long long time.

It is true that the Thomas Guide is the most conclusive map book around! I recently purchased the 2001 LA/Orange Thomas Guide, as well as many others, at the Thomas Brothers store in San Francisco on Jackson and Columbus. They had every Thomas Guide known to man, and wall maps to accompany them!

Best Maps

Review Date: 2001-01-12
The Thomas Guide is the definitive map for anyone who needs to find addresses quickly and easily in the Los Angeles area. It lists every street imaginible, even tiny ones like the one near where I live that doesn't even have a street sign, yet Thomas Guide knows its name.

Streets are indexed by street name, making them easy to find in the grid-like maps on each page. There is even a handy zip code listing. Great for sales people and the like who need to find their way through unfamiliar territory quickly and easily. I'd be lost without my Thomas Guide.
