What is the attraction principle? "Teaching the Attraction Principle to Children: Practical Strategies for Parents and Teachers to Help Children Manifest a Better World" is an examination of this principle, that many people may already be using and not knowing it. It's a valuable skill, claim the authors, and if today's children were taught the basics of it and how to use it, tomorrow's world could be a much better place. "Teaching the Attraction Principle to Children: Practical Strategies for Parents and Teachers to Help Children Manifest a Better World" is highly recommended to community library parenting collections and for parents in general.

Chick Moorman is one of my favorite authors. His books - especially Spirit Whispers, Talk Sense to Yourself, Teacher Talk, and Where the Heart Is - have always spoken personally and deeply to me. I've always appreciated his straightforward language, his clear explanations, his great examples, and his ability to elucidate plainly otherwise complex ideas. With Thomas Haller he has done it again! Teaching the Attraction Principle to Children is a book that explains a complex and sometimes misunderstood belief system - that we co-create our reality by our powerful and sometimes unconscious expectations - in plain English. It is written in a way that even children can understand! But, of course, that is the purpose of the book - to help adults explain to children that they are not helpless victims in a world in which they have no control. Some may disagree with that the Attraction Principle is the most important principle to teach children. If you reframe that principle to suit your own deeply held beliefs - beliefs that may include a belief in God for instance - the book's power will be even more deeply meaningful to you. Buy it, read it, and explain these principles to the children in your life you love deeply. They will be enriched by these truths and by the plain talk that characterizes the work of Mr. Moorman and Mr. Haller.

If you like "The Secret", and you have kids, then this is the book for you. The areas most enlightening for me were the stories that brought the practical application of teaching the law of attraction to life and how to make children effective in their relationships with their peers and others. A truly inspiring read!

I must admit, I was a little skeptical when I heard about bestselling books like The Secret. They seemed to claim some mysterious concept we all were missing. Whether called the "secret", the "law of attraction", or the "power of positive thinking", I agree with the basic idea: if we obsess about negative things we will find more negatives, and if we focus on positive things we will discover positives, even in a bad situation.

I've come to realize that this concept is not always so obvious or simple. In our world of criticism, shame, and blame, it's sometimes hard to see the positive solutions. It takes skill to step back from negativity and draw out the good. Some people do this well and some struggle mightily. This does not happen automatically. It must be modeled, taught, developed and practiced.

I think Thomas Haller and Chick Moorman have hit upon one of the most important life skills our children need. It's not just about building wealth or achieving "success," but about transforming what is into what is possible. It is essential we teach our children how to use this principle for good. And couldn't we all use some help learning how best to do that?

Chick Moorman and Thomas Haller have pulled together a straightforward, reality-based method to understand the Attraction Principle and teach it to children. Read this book, and you'll learn practical strategies to help our children create a better world.

I recently heard my nine-year-old daughter say, "I'm no good in math." After reading Teaching the Attraction Principle to Children, I knew what to do and how to respond. "Always?" I questioned. "Well, not always," she admitted. This exchange led to a 15 minute discussion on the power of belief and the thoughts we think about ourselves and why they are important. My daughter has begun to learn the importance of the Attraction Principle and how it works. I'm excited.

I found the examples of other parents and teachers motivational and heart-warming. It has created a hunger in me to teach more of this to my daughter. I am appreciative of the work done by Mr. Haller and Mr. Moorman. The have given me an easy to follow road map. They have done all parents a great service, especially me.

THE ATTRACTION FACTOR is a great read if you want romance in the true essence of the word. Julie and Marc are a wonderful addition to great lovers of our time. When Julie gets the job through her firm, she has no idea that the love of her life is her new client. When she goes to his (fabulous) bookstore, she is thrilled to see the focus of her high school desire. It must be destiny that the one man in her life to lead to her consult with the result of a magazine test "The Attraction Factor" has reappeared in her life. Add a gaggle of do gooding friends and family and you've got one heck of a read. Ms. McDavid is destined for good things in the world of romantic fiction.

Julie Gates couldn't believe her eyes when she arrived at the bookstore that was her next client. The owner was none other than Marc Johnson, her old English high school teacher. Julie, a senior tax consultant with a prestigious CPA firm, owned her own home and was raising her 14-year old brother while her parents dealt with her dad's multiple sclerosis. The only thing missing in her life was a man. Marc. Marc couldn't believe his eyes when his former student walked into his shop, stated she was his new tax advisor and waited to see his books. Going through his personal stuff, looking at his bank account, checking his credit cards--it was just all too much. And from what he remembered of Julie Gates, she had been a real airhead in his class. Marc could not reconcile his memories of Julie in high school with the poised, professional young lady standing before him. But there was something about herthe attraction factor. This well-written, comedic look at an uptight, overachiever trying to deal with a slightly kooky CPA from his former life is romance at its best. Cathy McDavid adds a twist to this tale of a high school crush on a teacher becoming a wonderful reality by adding an adolescent youngster into the picture who ends up helping the hero and heroine get together. The sexual tension is high, the sex sizzles and the mental flogging done by our uptight hero is downright hilarious at times.

Wow - what fun!

I thought from the cover that this book would be funny, and I was right. Marc and Julie are reacquainted after ten years apart and has Julie ever changed. Marc doesn't know what to make of this former airhead now turned CPA. She's nothing like the girl he once knew, and his heart can't take it.

Once Julie sets her sights on Marc, it's a done deal. He may resist, but he'll go down eventually. Fast, funny, sexy, and surprisingly touching at times, this is a great book. I read it all in one sitting - that's the best compliment I can give.

Chemical Attraction is an erotic adventure novel centered around a doctor's isolation of the human pheromone cell. Chemical pheromones have long been observed in insects and small mammals for a variety of tasks; marking trails, attack and aggression, mimicry for the purpose of luring, and attracting sexual mates. However, they have never played a substantial role in human activity. But in Chemical Attraction, Dr. Wellman discovers that the pheromones present in humans are primarily dormant, and knowing this, sets out to discover a way to turn them `on'.
The story is fun, exciting and moves quickly, has several interesting sub-plots and is very well written.

Having a Self Help Product Reviews site, I get quite a few self help books to review. This is the first book I've read that I've actually felt compelled to also write an Amazon review.

A lot of theory is covered in the book, but more importantly, practical solutions and techniques are also given, as well as some step-by-step solutions, for those that need them.

I really think this book is destined to become a self help classic.

I was one of the privileged 500 who pre-ordered Alan's book and received a signed copy. I have been viewing and ordering from Alan Tutt's [...] for quite some time now along with receiving his newsletters. He is inspirational and understandable. His writing is that which allows you to understand what he is trying to convey and you actually get it. This book takes the "Law of Attraction" to a new level as I feel that The Secret is just a stepping stone on the journey of understanding how it works in one's life. You can relate to Alan through this book and understand how truly possible it is to have it all when you Choose to Believe!

If you walk away from reading this book with the desire to give it anything other than a great review it just isn't time for you to truly understand...

I really enjoyed reading this book and I compliment and commend the writing style of Alan Rubin in "Disturbing The Solar System".

It is rare to find books on science written in such readable and understandable prose. It was quite a pleasure to read this book!

It is also my opinion that most authors of science related publications could learn something (and probably sell more books!) by observing Mr. Rubin's writing style.

A wonderful history of the Earth and the Solar System

Review Date: 2002-08-24
This is a marvelous and wide-ranging book. It is written at a level that is accessible to high school students or precocious elementary/middle school students. However, it also satisfies the needs of a senior scientist (namely me) who wants to review current knowledge in this area. The book covers the history of the Solar System, including the formation of the Earth and the origin of the Moon. Current knowledge of asteroids and meteorites, the latter one of the author's specialties, is summarized accurately without boring the reader to tears. The story of giant impacts and mass extinctions, as in the demise of the dinosaurs, is well told. The author carefully explains the evidence that certain meteorites found on Earth were blasted off the Moon and that other meteorites are from Mars. The discussion of the controversy over possible life forms in Martian meteorites is up to the minute. The book concludes with a summary of current thinking about alien life forms and the possibility of life elsewherein the Universe. In the preface, the author states his intention to show that science is an imperfect enterprise. He succeeds admirably, presenting a balanced view of current controversies.

Excellent First Book from Meteoriticist Dr. Rubin
Helpful Votes: 9 out of 9 total.
Review Date: 2002-08-09
Dr. Alan Rubin's first book covers an extremely diverse (but interrelated) range of topics, including solar system evolution, orbital resonances, mass extinctions, asteroids, meteorites, tektites, craters, volcanism, plate tectonics, magnetic pole reversals, planetary rings, moons, comets, the evolution of life, and even the Drake Equation and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. No matter how broad your background might be in astronomy, physics, chemistry and biology, you are still likely to find a few topics or theories in this book that you've never been exposed to before.

For me, I'd never made the connection that domesticatable animals might be a requirement for a technologically advanced civilization. And while I'd read a number of books (both fiction and non-fiction) suggesting that life might not have evolved if it weren't for our planet's large moon, I had not previously read that the Moon stabilizes the tilt of the earth's axis. I knew about the Moon's role in nutation of the earth's axis, but was not aware that French astronomers had recently performed a computer simulation of what would happen to the earth's axis over time if the Moon were absent. (Gravitational interaction between the planets and earth's equatorial bulge would cause the obliquity of the ecliptic to vary chaotically over relatively small time periods -- millions of years. Such unstable seasons would lead to extreme global climatic fluctuations, making it much more difficult for life to establish itself.)

As you might expect, there are many dozens of photographs, diagrams, graphs and illustrations scattered throughout. Indeed, this is the first book I've ever seen that contained pictures of the plaque aboard the Pioneer 10 and 11 spacecraft, the pictogram sent out by the Arecibo dish back in 1974 toward M13, photographs of crater chains on Callisto and the Moon, and a table of all the magnetic pole reversals -- all in one place. It will make a nice reference book whenever I need to find something fast.

There is a fairly extensive 18-page glossary covering most of the technical terms in the book, and there are also 10 pages of chapter by chapter references for additional reading. Rubin obviously spent a lot of time putting all of this together.

Of course, in any technical book there are bound to be typos and errors, though I found very few. Page 94, for instance, has a confusing phrase "...gravitational resonance between the Moon and the debris disk..." I believe he meant ~earth~ and the debris disk. The most glaring mistake I found is that Figure 11.2 on pg. 164 is misidentified as being a partial eclipse of the earth when it is merely a crescent earth. There are a couple of minor errors in the glossary -- see if you can spot the problems with the definitions of arcsecond and parsec.

Overall, the book is well-written in plain English that you don't need a PhD is astrodynamics to understand. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to expand their appreciation of just how fortunate we are to be alive on this little blue ball.

Releasing God's Spirit in Your Worship

Warren Hunter taps into the power of intimate worship in his book "The Divine Attraction." The book is rich in scriptural content filled with examples illustrating the depths of God's love and how "God inhabits the praises of His people."

Warren challenges the reader to: "Allow the worship of God from within the Spirit of God to rise within you to meet God in heaven, and touch the face of God." He goes on to explain how worship is created in the heart and how important this is as the primary focus in approaching God.

Examples are drawn from the altar experiences of Cain and Abel, Noah, Abraham, David, Solomon, and Elijah to emphasize the need "to present our bodies as a living sacrifice" as we move into an intimate worship with God.

I found the meditations of the heart sections of the book to stir my heart in a new synergy of worship resulting in an amazing breakthrough in "establishing an environment of the Spirit."

Hunter writes with power, authority, clarity and conviction as he challenges the reader to examine true hallowed worship and supernatural closeness with the God of heaven as they respond by magnifying and praising Him with their spirit, soul, and body.

This is a book for anyone who wants to know more of the depths of God's love and the worship that follows when we release God's Spirit within us to reach into our innermost being.

Readers new to shamanism will appreciate the author's honesty and directness as he introduces the principles and practices of modern shamanism, and recaps its history. He doesn't pontificate as an expert, even though he is; the genuine article.

More advanced students will also the enjoy anecdotes from his life and practice, and his positive views for the future. They illustrate how far these simple principles can be taken, are a good reminder to avoid the trap of negativity.

In this fascinating book, anthropologist Dr. David Givens explains how body language and other silent signals and cues work in the different phases of courtship. Along the way, he explains what the various signals mean, and where they came from. He doesn't just look at gestures, but also at such things as colors, clothing, aromas and much more.

Overall, I found this to be a very fascinating book. Dr. Givens has produced the premier book on how to be successful at the game of human courtship, which applies to those who want to meet someone new and to those who want to maintain their bond with their spouse. I highly recommend this book!

What grabbed me about this book more than others is the fact that Deborah, Bruce and Tammy not only chose wonderful quotes coined by the masters of our time but also thoughts from regular day to day people and I think that makes it easy for people like myself to be able to identify with what is being written. Spirituality and idea's on positive thinking are spread throughout the pages of this book and I would advise all to pick it up and watch it change your life and brighten your day as it did mine. Insightful theory with practical applications

Review Date: 2008-10-25
This is a fascinating book! Once I started, I could not stop until I got to the last page! This book was first published just a year after Einstein had published his ground-breaking papers that lead to the field of quantum mechanics. The value of quantum mechanics can be readily observed by its relevance in a multitude of fields today. Likewise, the importance of this work in modern society can be clearly measured by its effects on contemporary America. Of course, the author did not have the advantage of understanding the world through the lens of 20th century advances in the sciences. Nevertheless, one can see how relevant this book is to our time by seeing the references the author makes to justify his Theory of Vibration. The initial reaction of the superficial reader may be one of skepticism. That's quite understandable, given the depth of this tome. In my experience, books of great significance require multiple readings to derive the maximum benefit. If you see a line you don't understand, ponder upon it. How does the author's 1908 English translate into modern day scientific thought? Insight is achieved with effort to understand great works. Take for example, the Hermians, having carefully saved the historical documents of Nesmith and his crew, followed in his footsteps to acquire the ability to defend themselves against Sarris. Only when you understand the author's Theory of Vibration can you acquire the powers that this book was meant to give you. And when you do, you will find yourself a different person. In short, figure out if you have not yet learned this material by searching inside the book on this site (or in a bookstore). If it looks like there is something to learn, then the small amount of money this book costs will more than compensate you in terms of wisdom and insight.

This interesting work from 1908 takes quite a practical approach to the idea of mind power. Whereas most of the early New Thought metaphysicians tend to write in the mystical tradition, Atkinson seems to concentrate on explaining mental phenomena from an angle where science meets the occult.

He starts out with the law of vibration by first demolishing the tenets of materialism and then by comparing mental power to scientific theories of vibration with analogy to sight and sound. He claims that there exists a scientific explanation behind the beliefs of mental science, beliefs that belong in the field of physical science more than in metaphysics. Atkinson quotes some of the scientists of his own time in support of what was then known about vibrationary rates.

He explains the different types of thought waves and the atmospheres that seem to inhabit places. The two main factors in the manifestation of mental influence are concentration and mental imaging, both of which the author explores in detail. He also discusses the two general forms of the use of mental influence that he calls "fascination" and "hypnotism." Influencing at a distance, like distance healing, is also covered.

A particularly interesting chapter is the one on mass influencing, where certain ideas and beliefs can spread far and wide amongst large sections of a population. Atkinson also points out how advertising and sales techniques draw upon this ancient knowledge of thought power. He then shows how vitally important it is for the individual to be resistant or at least aware of the various currents of ideas prevalent at any given time.

He discusses white and black magic and concludes the book with a chapter on psychic protection. He urges the reader to look up to the higher self for aid and strength in order to avoid being affected by the waves of feeling or emotion sweeping over the public mind, which have a tendency to stampede people into adopting certain ideas. By affirming the flame of the spirit of the great I Am within, the individual can protect her or himself and remain firmly rooted in a healthy state of independence.

Atkinson `s insight is timeless. Considering that this book was published in 1908 with the tragic 20th century still to come, many of his ideas were ahead of their time and strangely prescient. The science of quantum physics has only added to the legitimacy of his wise words insofar as it confirms that everything is energy.

As mentioned before, Atkinson takes a very practical approach to explaining the mechanics of thought power and in this way appears to lean to the occult side of esoteric science more than the mystical. I do not mean this in a negative way, as his observations and conclusions are similar to those of the other early teachers of New Thought. He is certainly an advocate of what William James called The Religion of Healthy Mindedness.

Atkinson's contribution in this book is particularly valuable in explaining how fashions, trends and certain good or evil thought patterns can spread around the world, how susceptible the individual is, and what one can do to stay immune. I highly recommend this thought provoking book.
