From the Florida Everglades to Egypt, Mr. Willison entertains with action filled stories. The dialogue is great and the characters are interesting.
I enjoyed this book.

Four action filled stories that take you to places most have never seen. It starts out deep in the Florida Everglades then to hunting grizzly bears and then on to a logging camp in the back woods of Canada. This is topped off by a tale that takes you to the land of the Pharoahs in Egypt. Gripping stories told with action packed language. You can imagine that you are there in the midst of each adventure.

A fun read.

I had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to go through the Communication Arts & Design program at VCU with Phil as illustration instructor, and student advisor.

This book, about the life and times of Phil Meggs is essential reading for all graphic designers and artists whether you knew Phil or not. It follows a time line up to his death, showing sketch books, projects and designs by Phil, giving a glimpse of this truly gifted designer -- while providing any creative visual communicator a recipe for gathering, digesting and interpreting visuals -- a creative shot in the arm to say the least.

The rememberances of those last months, written by Libby Meggs (Phil's wife) noted illustrator in her own right, brought tears to my eyes.

Bottom line: the graphic designer, illustrator or visual communicator now has a detailed map on how to get where they want to go -- creatively. And for me, when faced with difficult design projects, I finally have the answer to the question: "What would Phil Meggs do"

This book is in the number ONE spot for nomination for "BOOK OF THE YEAR" at www.Design-Bookshelf.com and DTG Magazine. And that recommendation says it all.

Just buy it.

If you were fortunate enough to have been taught by Phil Meggs or perhaps you had a professor that used A History of Graphic Design in class, then you must own this book.

It's beautiful and touching. I will treasure it always with my fond memories of Professor Meggs.

Mr. Harris has provided us all with a thought provoking book filled with a multitude of subjects. Using several of his interviews done on his radio show, "All Things That Matters," Mr. Harris has, through the many guests on his show, helped to educate us on numerous subjects as well as pique our interest in those subjects. I took something away from each interview and several pushed me to the point where I had the desire to learn more. This was easy to do as websites are provided. A well written book by an incredible author and interviewer, Philip Harris has yet to let his fans down.

James Ray is our hero here at Pug Headquarters. His Science of Success was good and his Million Dollar Mindset is equally as good.

These are common sense rules of conduct which can be easily applied for certain success.

Brian Tracey suggests we invest 3% of our gross income in learning tools. He also recommends to use wisely the time spent in our automobiles by listening to educational improvement material. James Ray's Million Dollar Mindset satisfies both those things.

This book tries to prove the latter, and it does so by showing that freedom, identity, honor, and faith all depend on relations of high quality with others. We can't have these four human distinctions without the help of other people, whom we too often fail to appreciate.

Facsinating study, well-written and always profound. A must read.

We bought this book for my in-laws as a gift after a visit to their new home in Arizona. They loved both books and on a recent (second)visit there, we also used this book as a reference. Very easy to use and understand with just the right amount of information.

This book illustrates the many wildlife and flora of Arizona. It includes everything you need to know in regards to safe and unsafe in the habitat.
An extremely informative guide.

This book is one of the most sensual pieces of literature out there. I cannot think of another book that reads so much like an operatic aria. It is not so much a meditation on love as on all-consuming attraction, obsession, and eroticism. The story takes you into the mind of Giorgio, who is torn between two women who could hardly be more opposite. Clara is beautiful, healthy...and married. Fosca is sickly, desperate...and alluring. The two best things I can say about reading this book are:
1) It challenges each of us to get in touch with the light and dark sides of human sexuality.
2) The translation is absolutely outstanding. For readers who appreciate masterful translation work, or for those who study literature in translation, this is a must-read!

Fosca is a sick woman, living in XIXth Italy she is considered a Hysteric. But Fosca is not only sick she is ugly. And there is nothing worse for a woman being ugly. So one day arrives Giorgio, a handsome officer, who just left his lover, a married woman back in Milan. To Fosca is love at first sight, but for Giorgo is not. He tries to be kind because she is ill. But her desperate love is more than he can endure.

The PASSION she feels for him is agressive even in the physical sense of the word. Fosca wants him so desperately that you can do nothing but understand her and also feel what she feels. Unrequited love here is a powerful force out of control.
The darkness in his relation with Fosca has its reverse with the clarity in his relation with Clara. She is beautiful, sensual. The "usual" object for a man's affection. But through the novel this oposition is changing in a subtile way. Because finally what Fosca offers is pure love. With total surrender, yes, but giving everything in exchange.

I always recomend to read the book in Italian, but this translation is a good one. And if you want to make this reading a memorable experience listen Stephen sondheim's musical "Passion". His adaptation is perfect.
