I read this book when I first got into the manufacturers representative business. I joined an existing firm (one person plus office help) working primarily on outside/inside sales and found many helpful tips as well as ways to set goals and procure realistic results. The book goes into detail about both starting a new firm as well as joining an existing firm and is a must read by anyone getting into the world of the manufacturers representative agencies.

This classic book is great for anyone interested in learning about, or getting into the mobile home park business. The information in it is quite dated - but the fundamentals of building a mobile home park are still similar today.

It also shows how you can use this knowledge to provide better products and customer service. Extremely beneficial for those who have no prior experience with the pharmaceutical GMP (Good Maufacturing Practices) world!

and the best part of it is not the part where Jim Thompson disappears. The best part of the book is the description of living and working in Bangkok between WWII and the beginnings of the Vietnam war. It gives great descriptions of Bangkok as a village with smelly but peaceful canals. Thompson himself is the kind of man we are looking toward to help people in other third world countries make real businesses and create competitive markets.

Jim Thompson nurtured a small cottage industry of silk weavers into what is now a multinational corporation. Fascinating book.

Best book you can buy on this topic

This is a good book. I have been a sales representative for over 10 years and I bought this book to test my knowledge. If you are tired with your job and you like to have your own bussiness, this book is great. Being a sales rep is the best self-employed opportunity because of the low overhead involved. If you feel you can sell, you will be fine if you follow the instructions in this book. I would recommend starting as a sub-representative, because that will help you to get started and you will receive the training as well. The other good thing about starting as a sub rep is that you will get a list of established accounts. This will insure your making money right away. If they can not tell you how much money you can make in the territory, forget working for them. They have to give you an overview of what the previous representative sold and to whom, so you can build on that. The "Learning Annex" also gives courses on this topic. I have seen them advertised in the San Francisco issue. I wish the publisher would print a new updated version, but don't worry, this book is good enough.

Robert Flynn's view of the Vietnam war through the eyes of journalist Sherill O'Connell is a scarily good look at war. It is a must for anyone who thought that John Wayne movies accurately portray war, and a must for anyone who ever wondered what the media looks like from within.

Mr. Francillon is well known for his excellent writings and details on military aircraft. This book is no exception.

He presents a vast wealth of information on the designs of McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. It is not a book to sit and read, but it is a book that has the facts and history of every design that rolled out of the plants of Douglas Aircraft. Plus many that never saw the light of day.
