A must have Life-Long keepsake book to remember your visitReview Date: 2003-03-01
This book is a treasure to both kids and parents. Something the family will keep and look back at many many times. It brings back the memories, the feelings, the fun of our past trips to Disneyland. As the park changes we can always accurately remember how it was during our recent visits as well as show the kids how it all started as just a dream of Walt's and how it got to be such an amazing place.
This book is a must have, even if you buy the newer 2002 edition called Disneyland Resort - Magical Memories of a Lifetime. The 2000 edition (the full title is Disneyland - Memories of a Lifetime) has the history and behind the scenes. The 2002 edition has the new California Adventure theme park as well as the Resort Hotels, but does NOT include the fascinating history and behind the scenes. So, if you can find them, buy them both. You'll be truly happy you did.

Do *Your* Kids Know the Stay-Safe Rules?Review Date: 2006-12-15
In this book, Winnie the Pooh learns that his good friend Christopher Robin is going to his Grandma's house for supper all on his own. Pooh and Piglet are worried about him being all by himself, but Christopher Robin tells them that it isn't so scary if you know what to do to stay safe. He gives them a set of rules to follow and they put them to good use later on. Christopher Robin is very impressed with how well they learned them.
Christopher Robin's rules include "Don't talk to strangers" and "Never take a ride with a stranger" among others. They're all included on the last page at the very back of the book. At this time, or any time, it is always important for kids to know what to do to stay safe when it comes to strangers, but to also know that they can be safe with their friends. These favorite characters, Pooh, Christopher Robin and all their friends can help them to learn just what to do.

THE TURNING POINT Review Date: 2004-07-21
In THE TURNING POINT, you'll meet 10-year-old Lauren Wing, a girl who loves to skate. She's training and practicing for the Regionals competition for novices, and she's looking forward to moving up, to become a junior-level skater, and then a senior-level skater. And maybe someday she can try out for the Olympics. In her dreams! But in her everyday life, Lauren just concentrates on skating her best in the Regionals competition.
Unfortunately, it's hard for Lauren to concentrate on her program when her cat gets lost. Her parents, her brother, her sisters, and all her friends help her look for him. They put up flyers. But they can't find him, and Lauren really misses him. To make things worse, another skater, Erica Claiborn, says nasty things to Lauren just before she has to skate in the competition, trying to make her goof up. The absolute worst thing, though, is when Lauren finds out --- just before she goes onto the ice --- that a world-famous skating coach, Eve Perry, has come to watch the competition. Lauren is scared to death!
She skates very well in her first routine, but in the second one she falls down. Erica wins first place. Lauren tries to be a good sport about it, but falling down was not something she wanted to do in front of Eve Perry! She'll never get to the Olympics that way.
Then something happens. Something that will change Lauren's life forever. If it works out. If she can do it. Will her parents go for it? Do dreams come true? Read this book to see if Lauren can find her cat, and if her skating dreams become a reality.

With short poems, each page features a time of day (Play Time, Nap Time, Bed Time and more) and explains what Pooh does at that point in his day. From waking up and stretching to counting sheep and all points in between, Pooh's day is just like your child's day - and kids will find that a very good thing.
Ironically, the author of this book is Ellen Milnes, I assume no relation to Pooh's creator A. A. Milne (no "s"), but still an amusing detail. The wonderful images of Pooh throughout his day, done by Angel and Eva Rodriguez and Paul Lopez are absolutely perfect.
