In Disney's Art of Animation, Thomas explains the birth of the Walt Disney co., from a handful of people meeting in a home, to the huge Disney phenomenon we know today. The first half of the book explains the formative years of Disney, from before Mickey's time. This book looks into facts about the films themselves from an outside veiw. It keeps its eye on the whole company as it struggled along through the 30's, 40's, and even 50's. It talks about pre-Snow White cartoons and all of the full length feture films from Snow White to 1990's Rescures Down Under. The last half Explains the process of creating a modern animated film from the standpoint of many of the people who had an infleuance creating the only Disney Picture to be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy AwardsÐBeauty and the Beast. Thomas explains how each aspect of the film is created and consolidated into one final, breathtaking work. An excellent book for anyone intrested in animation and, not to mention, a Disney fan's wish come true.

This book was a real treat going through. Loaded with photographs, it tells the story as a script, shows the design of the characters, and then shows the special effects, sets, and other cool stuff. It's a great soveneir of the musical, and if you haven't it's a great book to read to experience the musical if you can't experience it on Broadway

This book is excellent. It is filled with gorgeous pictures from the Broadway musical. It also contains the complete lyrics and a story line of how the actual musical was produced. This is a definite for any musical theatre fan!

This is a terrific book! The crafts shown inside are not Disney related, and most of them are useful gifts like pencil holders and bird feeders etc. -- not just things that sit there looking pretty and gathering dust. Great for kids of all ages and budgets of all sizes.

I just checked this book at the library and it is a must to buy. The ideas are fun and unique. I know my kids 2 and 5 will love the characters and the presentation of the crafts. I can't wait to get crafting for Christmas. Happy crafting!

I didn't like it at first because Roger was poor again. He's my favorite character and I really liked him being rich. However, it was good that he learned some valuable lessons.

This is a great book with great illustrations and great stories. I enjoy it very much!

I liked this story it was really interesting and it is funny and it is cool how the car can do all those thing. When I saw the cover I thought it would be boring but it was very interesting I liked the movie the best but I liked the book to and I loved when she was looking for a car I thought that she was going to pick a diffrent car and then she picked herbie and it was awesome she did not like him at first and then she saw kevin and she loved herbie and they fixed herbie up really good and bet the best race car driver in the world and herbie had a mind of his own and it was awesome to see that she loved the car after they washed it up and she was keeping a secret she said she was maxx and she wasn't and she lied to her dad and the news and every body and the bad thing about it is that she lied to her dad and that is very very very bad and I wish that she would have just told them and not have to be in that kind of thing she did it I would not have done that if I were her I would not have lied and be in a bigger mess I would have just went on and told the truth but I don't like her ling because it is just not right for her to lie right in her dads face it hurt him more but then he was really mad because she did not tell him the truth the first time and that is why he was mad because she lied to him the first and then he was there when she toke off her helmet and he was very mad at her because he thought that she would not lie to him but then he saw her and then he did not beleive her no more then her brother got in a car reck and he picked magie to drive and her dad said it was okay with him and then her dad was happy again when she won her dad was so proud of her. that is all i had to say.THE END!!!!!!!!!!

Twenty-one-year-old Maggie Peyton has just graduated college, and is about to start a high-ranking, behind-the-scenes job at ESPN in the Big Apple. But first she must survive a month-long stint in her hometown of Riverside, California, where she is sure she will spend her time skateboarding. However, when her father takes her to a used car lot, she is quickly drawn to Herbie, a white, '63 Love Bug that could use a bit of a paint job, as well as some other work under the hood. Which is how Maggie ends up getting involved with her best friend from high school, Kevin, who intends on fixing up Herbie, free of charge. The only catch is that Herbie has a complete mind of his own, and a heart for racing, which is how he and Maggie, along with Kevin, get mixed up with Trip Murphy, a professional racecar driver who bugs Herbie just as much as Maggie. Now the little car has decided that he's going to beat Trip in a race that Maggie's not even sure she wants to participate in. But when Herbie's driving, she has no choice.

I adore the past HERBIE movies, so hearing about the newest release HERBIE FULLY LOADED starring Lindsay Lohan, I knew that the film would capture my heart instantly. However, waiting is not one of my virtues, so when I saw the HERBIE FULLY LOADED novelization recently, I had to pick-it up. Irene Trimble has done a fabulous job of bringing the movie to life with this novelization. The characters are quirky and fun, and Herbie is completely adorable. While it is obvious from the movie trailers that the novelization cut parts of the movie out, it features enough to tide over any HERBIE fan until the movie is released to theaters. Overall, this is a must have novelization for HERBIE or Lindsay Lohan fans. You won't be disappointed!

In my opinion, this book (written basically for children to read) has the magic enough to capture an adult's mind.
I'm very fond of the thought that the Disney Company, makes it's best effort to get a child into the deep world of greek and roman mythology throughout this book (originally a movie) with the usual content of love, comedy, drama and a happy ending, all mixed in a magical, powerful, and most important "understandable" way.
I think that thanks to this amazing story, every child knows that Zeus is the greatest of all Gods, and that he rules with all rest of them (including his wife Hera) in Mount Olympus; that Hades rules the "Underworld" , and as usual, something to learn.... with love, any battle can be won.
I guess there is nothing else to say about this book, it teaches us in a beautiful way, our ancestors believings many centuries ago.

In Estonian language means Herkula the same as "oatflakes" in English. As I was child, the grammy command me to eat the oatmeal. "If you eat the oatmeal, you will be a strong man," she told. I dont know was she right or not, but now I am (really) a strong man. The greeks, the myths, the saturday nights when someone (again grammy) read me those tales. Hercules was then in my "top 10" on the 4th position. The first was Zeus, the 2nd Paris and the 3rd Achilleus. Hercules never got the medal. When I read "Disneys Hercules" now, I realize what I've never seen before: The Hercules story told through the pictures is much more powerful than written word. I might look like a macho, but those funny and childish adventures made me feel like a small boy, face full of joy. I would like to give a golden medal to Hercules now, but does he need that? I've heard that celebrities are swimming in gold. My suggestion to the producers of this wonderful work - there should be more those cartoon-Gods out now, instead of the real ones. Martin Palm

I bought this book for my daugther. I was very pleased with Garnett Pyle and his store. Great response time.

This book is fun. It's just like Princess Jasmine was making friends with the reader. The art was lovely. I especially enjoyed the wild hair styles that Genie tried out on Jasmine.

My son (2) loves this book! He interacts with the phrases that the Einsteins suggest in the story...we read it every night!

A great book my daughter,2 when we bought it and now 3 years, loves it! She reads it to us and then we read it back to her.

I really love these books. I am fascinated by the technique used to get the 3-d affect. I have everyone out.

I've always loved to look and figure out what picture is inside that one. I love the way it just comes alive and htere are so many layers to some of them. It was a great book.

This is a great interactive book for younger kids...and I found myself as an adult playing with the mixed up pages to make funny Disney characters. Definitely great for Disney or non-disney fans alike.

I remember that when I was in middle school I went to a Disney store with my parents. I loved Disney stores. I remember finding this book in the store. There was only one copy and I really wanted it. My parents bought it for me. I played with it for hours. Everytime I went to Disney World, I took the book with me. Honestly, I've never found an item that could keep me happy for hours. Sadly, it is out-of-print. I'm glad I still have my copy. I'm 19 going on 20, going into my second year of college, and I still enjoy this book. I'm not ashamed of that. In fact, I'm extremely proud to be able to enjoy an item that brings back wonderful memories of my childhood. This book is for all ages, even adults. I'm about to leave on a trip to Disney World with my family, and yes, I am bringing the book with me. If you can find a copy, I recommend getting it.
