When preparing for a Disney Vacation, the Internet can be useful but you really need to buy this book and TAKE this book.

Although the coupons are of questionable value, the information is clear, well-presented, and well organized. Just avoiding the busy times made life so much better.

It was so very helpful when we got caught in rain (we went to Epcot- GOOD ADVICE)

It was just as good when the rain began the next day (went to Disney Quest - GREAT ADVICE)

Between this and http://allearsnet.com we saved a bunch of money, got the right resort, and had a ton of fun.

Great book - don't leave home without it.

I love, love, love it! Did I say I love it???

This is a great book for those going to WDW without kids. It gives great info without all the "kid-friendly" stuff that we don't need. It might even be a good book for parents who plan on spending some time away form their older kids at WDW.

It's mostly a sized-down, more focused version of the Official Guide by Birnbaum, but definitely worth the money.

The pictures alone are worth the price. I love it!!!

This is the best guide book I've found, bar none. Not only is it informative but with the pictures, maps and helpful tips it is interesting and insightful. I've used it for two previous trips (one all-girls week and one with my husband) and can only say carry it with you at all times. It's well organized for quick-reference and helps when you have an unexpected change of plans--like those mid-summer afternoon showers that tend to pop up in Florida.

My four-year-old niece is forever parading around the house, showing her fascination with the dance. When I saw this book on the library shelf, I had to share it with her.

Each photo freezes a movement that reflects the simple yet complex nature of this means of expression. Dancer Jones fluidity and flexibility is captured for all to see and marvel at his execution.

The text is simply engaging and is an inspiration to those that wish to leap across the stage.

Great for ALL dancers...

I really love to use this book for my creative movement and modern classes of all ages... It is full of wonderful photos of Bill T. Jones in different shapes and poses and expressions, with short captions about how "I am a dancer. I want to dance." Then he proceeds to show us the different ways to use our bodies to express what dance means to us. I really recommend it for your dance library.

The first time I showed this book to my 23 month daughter, she had me read it to her 8 times. The next day, her day care teacher asked me if she had been to a dance class over the weekend. Apparently, she attempted to emulate the stretches she saw in the book. She was enthralled with the wonderful ways that Bill T.Jones moves. Indeed, she simply could not believe that a body could move that way, so she rotated the book to meet her view of reality. The photographs in this book are exquisite, and can be an inspiration to any age.

Disney Bunnies books are beautifully illustrated and this one has some particularly nice pieces of artwork in it. Thumper learns to count to ten with some help from nature, such as the butterflies on the cover. It teaches simple counting in this manner and is a fun read. A very thick, sturdy board book of exceptional quality and glossy pages. Both of my girls (2 and 3 1/2) ask to have this one read to them over and over again.

My son, Logan, is 9 months. We read books all of the time and he LOVES this book. There are adorable illustrations of Thumper and his friends. The pictures grab his attention and for the 100x I've read this book I still enjoy looking at the pictures. I know he'll grow into this book as he obviously can't count yet and I don't mind it. I'm ready to buy more of the Disney Bunnies series.

My 5 year old son loves this book. He can't wait for the movie to come out on dvd and this book is a great way to help him remember scenes from the movie. I really like how they used some audio clips from the movie in the story. I also like how the story lasts for several minutes and makes the sound so he can turn the pages.

I love to have my coffee and my quiet time, and flip the next page of the calender over to see what new picture is for the day. It may sound foolish but I have had disney calenders on my desk for years and look forward to reading each one. I havent noticed repeats for there shouldn't be with so many different movies but I like to see if my favorites come up for the day. I think it is also just a daily reminder of my youth and brings a smile to my face when I see an old one come up LOL, and I can remember it!!

Do they ever disappoint?

Disney Days Calendar 2001 upholds the standard of excellence established by those of previous years. Anyone who loves Disney will love having a beautiful new image to look at each day. The pictures are wonderful to use for making homemade cards or postcards, and with some double-sided tape, the little black and white flip-animation pictures on the bottom-right can be turned into cute sealing stickers for the backs of envelopes. Enjoy!

Sigh...if only they made a calendar for people like me who like the Disney animated features but not the short cartoons, life would be perfect. :) Just kidding, but it would be closer. Still, this is a beautiful calendar, and you can cut the prettiest pictures out after you're done with them and put them up somewhere nice! ESPECIALLY not to be missed if you're a fan of Sleeping Beauty, but if you're looking for Hercules shots, you'll be puzzled by the complete absence of Megara in this calendar.

One of the most personal efforts ever produced by the Walt Disney Studios was not an animated movie for the masses, a big box office live action adventure, or even a theme park. It was the work they provided for the soldiers, sailors, and airmen of World War II. The studio animators under Walt's direction provided free of charge the design of over 1,000 original artistic logos for the armed forces. These were used on individual planes, tanks, and ships for their crews. They also helped design unit insignias for organized armoured units, air wings and squadrons, infantry units and others. These requests were sometimes funneled through the official military channels, but more often came in a letter sent from overseas signed by a bunch of American young men. Most often the boys would send in a rough sketch of what they had in mind, or asked to use a certain animated character they favored. Other times they let the studio come up with whatever they wanted, and the artists often created new characters on the spot. No request was too big or too small, the animators completed every job. These designs were incredible and inspiring works of art, not something dashed off in a hurry.

This effort began when early one morning a fews days after the bombing of Pearl Harbour, the phone rang at Walt Disney's house. The Studio called to tell him that 700 army troops had set up camp at the Walt Disney studio campus, in order to protect the nearby airfield. The long war hurt the Disney company many way, including the loss of key staff to the armed forces, reduction in commercial output and attendance, and cuts in overseas theatrical releases of their films. Despite these issues that could have caused resentment of the wars interference in Disney growth and success, the company dove in to do their part to support the war effort.

Whether it was in producing great war time comedy animated shorts such as "Der Fuhreres Face" to keep up the public morale; or educational films to teach soldiers how to operate a certain weapon or avoid disease; or deeply researched theory films like "Victory Through Airpower"; or animated shorts that promoted war bonds... the studio worked overtime to do their part. The logos and unit insignia are a big part of that effort.

The beautiful color photos reproduce the actual designs in page after page of color photos. A wonderful book for the Disneyphile, OR for those that are just interested in high quality unit design artwork from planes, etc. from WWII.

Also see the book "Donald Duck Joins Up: The Walt Disney Studio During World War II (Studies in Cinema)" to get a more complete picture of all the other combined efforts of the studio during the war, including the logos in this book. In order to see the logos themselves, the book on this page features more of them than any other book.

This book has some of the many terrific designes creaded by the Disney artists. I have been fascinated with the Disney art work ever since I had lunch with Walt Disney as a young boy.

This is a MUST HAVE REFERENCE for parents, babysitters, daycare people, etc. Is organized by developmental age, newborn, 2-3 months old, etc. You can use the index to look up a diagnosis or body sytem (respiratory sys.) or look up the conditions alphabetically. The colored pictures are great...especially for a child choking or needing mouth to mouth resusitation. I will never sell this book. It will stay in the family.

Great Ideas for Parties

Review Date: 2004-02-25
This book is perfect for parents whose child loves Disney. It has different parties for different age groups, from toddlers up till pre-teens. My two favorite ideas are the Sleeping Beauty Princess sleepover, and the Cinderella party. It has ways to make invatations, recipes for food to go with the party themes, including drinks, and the all important cake. As well as games and party favors. The ideas in here are really cute, and the not only are perfect for birthdays, but for other holidays, like Halloween as well. And most of the ideas in here are realitivly easy, and all are very creative.

This large book is a visual treat and features mostly rare vintage movie posters from both classic animated Disney shorts and classic animated Disney features. The book complements the similar Disney Poster Book published under the Hyperion label in the early '90's. This publication is quality-bound (with pages sewn, not glued, into the binding) and the graphics reproduction is generally excellent. It's truly amazing how much artistry went into many of these posters. A delight even for casual enthusiasts and a definite "must" for hardcore Disney aficionados!

This book is a superb supplement to the earlier Disney Poster Book from Hyperion (1993). These early posters certainly reflect the emphasis on quality by the original Walt Disney Studios. It's sad that movie posters are not what they used to be. It's even sadder that this tome shows (in miniature) a theater poster from the "Martins & Coys" segment of "Make Mine Music", yet today's Disney Company has decided to censor (i.e., "cut-out") this wonderful, creative segment in its recent DVD release, thus cheating its many fans . Anyhow, all aspects considered, I strongly recommend this tome as an essential addition to any Disney library.
