Fourteen-year-old Steven Trapp's photographic memory earned him the nickname "Steel" because anything and everything he sees
gets locked down in his brain like a steel trap. While his talent comes in handy when trying to impress teachers or distract
his mom, he doesn't feel it's enough to make him intelligent. But that's where Steel is wrong, because he's incredibly smart
--- ingenious even. He's definitely brainy enough to compete in the National Science Challenge held in Washington, D.C.
So now Steel sits on a train bound for the Challenge with his mother, his dog Cairo and an invention of his own called FIDOE. Like dogs, his computerized robot singles out a specified scent and then tracks it; FIDOE is short for Fully Integrated Digital Odor Evaluator. While he's not worried about the invention itself, or even so much his presentation (the speech is locked in his memory), he's concerned about his father. Originally, his dad was the one planning to go with him to the Challenge, but for some strange reason --- one that his mom refuses to discuss --- his dad was delayed while on a business trip. But Steel is starting to believe that his mom isn't telling him something. Are his parents heading for divorce?
When his mom walks to the other end of the train for yet another private phone call, Steel notices something. A woman who boarded the train with a briefcase is now leaving without it. Steel jumps up and grabs the briefcase out of the overhead bin and chases after her. When he finally catches up with her, she defiantly refuses ownership of it. But Steel knows he's right; the image of her boarding is stored in his mind. Why would she lie? Not knowing what else to do, he turns the abandoned briefcase over to the conductor, yet he can't stop thinking about it.
Steel does find some comfort in having Cairo along, though she is locked in her travel crate in the baggage car. He finally manages to track down a conductor to let him in the secured car, and while he's happy to visit with his dog, he quickly becomes distracted by the lost-and-found section next to her crate. The briefcase is there! He decides to take a peak inside for more information, and what he finds leads him into a life-and-death international espionage adventure with the FBI.
Ridley Pearson has a list of published books a mile long, so he obviously knows what he's doing with his clever imagination. STEEL TRAPP: THE CHALLENGE has every ingredient needed to serve up an exciting adventure. The pages turn with fast-paced action, revealing the interlocking mysteries piece by piece. His characters offer a variety of personalities --- from secretive FBI agents to ultra-intelligent teens, all battling with right and wrong, and making choices. Pearson wraps up all the ingredients with his sense-awakening descriptions that really bring the surrounding scenery to life. Another winner from this bestselling, award-winning author.

This book is a definite winner! Ridley Pearson is just incredible! I started off reading his wonderful mysteries, then got
hooked on the Peter Pan series -- the very best of his stories in my opinion!!!! Because I love his writing, I purchased
this book too. I am so glad that I did... the story grabs you and keeps the action coming! I couldn't put it down! Although
geared to teens, the book is a great read, no matter what your age. Enjoy! It really is worth reading! (Then try his Peter
Pan books -- WOW!)

I am 13 1/2 and read this - the latest by Ridley Pearson. He is probably my favorite author. His books are not for little
kids and not for adults, although my mom enjoys reading all of his, even my books. I think this is a super book for all kids,
ages 10+ to read! It's full of adventure, fun and mystery! It is a quick read - I read it in 2-3 days going to/from school
and soccer. It's hard to put down like all of Ridley's books. Get it! Read it! Enjoy it!

This is basicly a book of manners for a prereading crowd.
My husband bought this book for our 2 year old as a treat. It has very simple language, one sentence per page. It is things like A Princess is caring.
Our daughter loves it because she loves to repeat phrases and they are simple enough for her to repeat and feel like she is reading.
I feel that children are never to young to learn to read and love reading so this little book was a good fit for us.

My 3 1/2yr old princess loving daughter really enjoys this book & I like that it teaches good values - kindness, caring etc.
The words are a little simple for a bedtime story, but will be great when she is learning to read by herself.

Pre-school and Kindergarten readers will enjoy learning about all the wonderful qualities that make up the character of a
Princess. Parents will be delighted to know that Princesses are kind, caring, brave, polite, a dreamer and very smart! Belle
loves to read lots of books, and that is very good to know!
Of course, wonderful illustrations make this an A+ for the Princesses in your own kingdom. What Is A Princess? is filled with some surprisingly wonderful lessons, and should not be missed!

I bought this book for my 5 year old pre-kinder daughter. She has somewhat of an interest in learning to read, but is very
interested in Disney princesses, even though I have never been fond of that whole genre. The book shows that princess are
brave, smart, kind, like to have fun, and other good values. Of course it is very short, but a step in the right direction.

Rugrats is a great children's book, because children can learn about friendship, and the difference between good friends and
bad friends.
Children would enjoy this book, because it deals with all the obstacles that kids need to accomplish!
This story is about four children that are best friends and they are only about four years old, and one of the children has an older cousin named "Angelica", which picks on her little cousin, and his three friends all the time. The four children's names are Tommy, Chucky, Phil, and Lil, which Phil and Lil are twins , and Tommy's parents are the main parents in this story.

The short story "Ten in the Bed", I think is one of the best children's books that I have ever read! This story is written
by Penny Dale, and its copy write is 1988!
Children can learn about picking on their older brothers, or sisters by kicking them out of their bed, so they can have the whole bed to their selves!
This book is basically about ten children is a bed, and smallest child keeps telling the rest of the children to move ever, and eventually the small child is the only child left in the bed.

In this book Pooh, Piglet, and Rabbit all come up with a plan for unbouncing tiger. The reason that they want to do this
is because tiger always bounces into them and they fall to the ground. So Rabbit comes up with a plan to unbounce tiger.
The plan was to take him into the woods and get him lost for one night so the next day when they find tiger he wouldn't be
bouncy anymore.
The lesson that the book teaches is basically that the way one person or thing is, whether it's a bad thing in your eyes is the way they will always be and no one can change that.
The age level for this book is 4-8. This book was a very good book. I have liked Winnie the Pooh since I was about 4 years old and I would recommend this book to kids everywhere.

Walt Disney's Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too is an excellent book for children to read. It is a classic book that has a great
story about the characters. Winnie is a lovable bear and a big fan of all children. And then you have Tigger who bounces all
over the place and is full of energy. Children go nuts for this. Even when I was a child I loved too read Winnie the Pooh
books cause they are all so good. I especially like this one in particular though. It has marvelous illustrations and tells
a great story, very understandable for children. I will end by saying that this book should be one that is owned by all
children,no child should have to go with out Winnie the Pooh.

This book is about little Dalmatian puppies that get dognapped. Their parents sound the alarm so the other dogs will look
for their puppies. The people stole the puppies so they could sell them to the circus and get rich. The lesson this book
teaches is that if you loose something and you look hard enough you will most likely find it. The book is good especially
if you like dogs.

This book is absolutely beautiful. It caught the corner of my eye while I was at the bookstore, and those Winnie The Pooh
colors were unmistakable.
At first, I was drawn to it because of the interesting interpretation of Winnie on the cover. I was happy to find that this was a theme carried out through the whole book.
Amazing works of art, it was so wonderful to see Winnie through the eyes of all those different artists.
Highly recommended for any Disney or Pooh fan, or even for anyone who isn't either.

I thoroughly enjoy this book! It probably helps that our son, a Disney artist, drew one of the entries and credited me for
his love of Winnie the Pooh but it is more than just his drawing that inspires me to look at this book. Although it would
be considered a coffee table book, I have looked at the pictures over and over, something I don't always do with this type
of book. There is so much variety in presentation, the size is delightful, and the autobiography bits about the artists are
like reading a playbill on Broadway. If you love Pooh like I do, don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this book.

A book that I have recently read was titled,"Casebusters." There are several of these books, but each of them have different
series. The serie that I read was,"Backstage with a Ghost". This is a fiction book by Joan Lowery Nixon and illustrated by
Kathleen Collins Howell. Casebusters would really be a good book for a 4th or 5th grader who likes to read mystery books.
This book was very interesting.Itwas about 4 kids and a woman trying to solve a mystery in their neighborhood theatre. Their names were Brian, Sean, Sam, Debbie, and Miss Beezly. In this book Brian and Sean were brothers. Their father was an investigator named Mr. Quinn.
Mr. Quinn was hired by Mr. Marconi who was a developer that wanted to tear down the theatre for a supermall to solve a mystery at the Culbertson Theatre. One of Mr. Marconi's inspectors were on stage in the theatre when a sandbag fell and damaged his shoulder,so that's why Mr. Marconi called Mr. Quinn's called Mr. Quinn. Sean, Mr. Mr. Quinn's son heard about many other accidents that had occured at the theatre. When the kids first met Miss Beezly she talked about a guy who was an actor at the theatre named Horatio Hamilton and years later he died. Miss Beezly believed that he stayed in the theatre, but it wasn't him who was causing trouble. The children plus Miss Beezly went inside of the theatre many times to try and figure out what caused the accidents. The 2nd time that they went into the theatre, there was a strange ghost who had scared them off. The kids thought that it could be Horatio Hamilton but Miss Beezly just knew that it wasn't him.
Sean and Brian Quinn look for the causes and perpetrators of a series of accidents that have set preservationists against
developers, who want to tear down Redoaks' old Culbertson Theater.

This is such a good book. Its funny how pooh gets rabbit so frustrated when his singing keeps waking rabbit up in the morning.
So, when pooh stops walking past his house in the morning, rabbit realizes he misses the silly old tune, when some unexpected
visitors drop in for a visit. Sometimes it seems that the littlest things annoy people. But it sometimes takes a different
point of view to get over it and realizes how great it can be. I would recommend this book to kids who have brothers and sister
because it teaches them how to deal with sibling rivalry. Especially for ages 4-7.

An excellent First Reader Book!! This story is about Pooh being his merrily self. He takes a walk each morning singing a
silly tune, when he wakes up Rabbit. Rabbit gets so mad. Then the one day Pooh decides not to walk by, Rabbit misses his
morning encounters with Pooh. This is a very cute story with catchy words. It is also very funny!! My two-year old son
laughs histerically everytime we read this book. He loves it and takes it everywhere we go. In the back of the book is a
picture and word matching game with objects in the story. There is also a word letter recognition activity. A great educational
book with lots of humor and fun!
